Ice Cream was one of the foods I dearly missed when going Keto. I did buy the Ninja Creami. I agree it is a little pricey, but I knew I would be using it often. There are two things I wish this machine did. 1) I wish the containers were a little larger. That way I could make ice cream ahead of time, enough for a few nights for 2 people. 2) I wish you didn't have to freeze the container ingredients overnight. If I want ice cream, I want it now(not liking you have to think ahead, LOL!) But overall, I am happy with it. I have 2 pints in the freezer right now, made with fresh strawberries and coconut milk. I have also made Rocky Road(using sugarfree marshmallows) Lemon Sorbet, Pecan Praline(using extract, and pecans as mix ins), and chocolate. I haven't tried it with Keto Chow. In fact I haven't even tried Keo Chow yet. Anyways, thanks Steve for another great video. And happy belated Anniversary!
They sell the pint containers and lids on ninja website. Or I just prepare the ice cream ahead of time and transfer it to another Rubbermaid container that is freezer safe. When you are ready to scoop it out you do have to let it thaw a bit because it is hard but it frees up your pint containers cheaper😁. I find I have to let all the brands of keto ice cream thaw a bit so it is ok with me. Just a thought 👍🏻
You're keto chow ice cream recipe is pretty much where I ended up except I haven't added any allulose yet. I'll pick some up today. Great point on removing the blade for cleaning and also wiping down the spindle.
I love my Ninja Creami. My ice cream maker was on its last leg so it was a good time to get a new one. It's fun to have an ice cream cone again with Enlighten cones (once in awhile). I'm definitely going to try your lemon sour cream, that sounds wonderful.
I just watched this again so I could share it on a forum I belong to. I ordered my Creami about 2 years ago, refurbished for $100. on Woot and I have used it almost daily. I am an ice cream person and use Keto Chow as a meal in the afternoon. So having ice cream at that time is something I look forward to. Keto Chow and the Ninja Creami is the perfect combination keeping me on track. Thank you for your review, Steve!
I bought a Creami but haven't quite learned the best recipe for a keto ice cream. Btw, I've found the best way to combat the 'powder effect' is to let the ice cream warm for 15-20mins. If I leave it on the countertop for 20mins and THEN put it through the "ice cream" cycle, it comes out creamy the first time
@@SeriousKeto BARELY! I did Ketochow like you, but only butter with water. I liked the texture and it tasted pretty decent. But I noticed that I had to spin/respin it several times and (as a former chemist) I got the feeling it was the temp was still too low to allow the fats to turn creamy. So I let it sit and didn't have to churn it as much. I'm so glad you got a unit though cause I'm looking for people doing experiments to learn from. I'm hoping to develop a good keto base custard I can add cocoa, extracts to in order to create ice creams that compete with Rebel/Halo Top
Cutest little taste tester!!! Great video and review. Love my ninja creami. I also make ice cream using Maria Emmerich egg pudding recipe for higher protein days. 😋
VERY helpful review! I love how you describe all of the texture and level of sweetness. I appreciate that you describe which kind of person might like which type of taste that you're tasting. It's also very helpful that you describe who may or may not like this product depending on what their lifestyle preferences are. Thank you so much. ♥
So excited to start seeing different recipes and variations start coming out for the Creami! One of my favorites so far is Orange Cream Dream. 1 Packet Orange Cream Keto Chow 4tbsp Butter 1tbps sweetner (better mouthfeel) 3 short squirts of Mio Orange Cream (tastes like an old school Push Up from the ice cream truck) Some whipped cream on top. Also, adding a tbsp of dark chocolate powder to any chocolate flavor helps it out. The 24hr prep time does suck, but like anything keto, the best flavor comes from experimentation and preparation. The "Science Project spaghetti noodles" blows miracle, fathead, and kelp noodles out of the water, but it's a pain to make too. After losing almost 40lbs though, I'll put in the extra prep and cleanup work at the sink, it's all just extra calories burned for me now.
@@bgueberdenteich5206 Cuisinart ICE-21PK Frozen Yogurt - Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker, Pink. On Amazon $70. Comes in different colors. It's this year's version. Super simple. Keep the bowl in the freezer all the time. Then it takes12 minutes to Keto Chow Ice Cream. I use mostly coconut milk and a little half and half.
Thank you for giving this great review. It is all over the keto chow community it’s where they will have their shake as ice cream, so it’s a meal replacement, if you so choose. I too thought the price seemed a bit high. Have not yet jumped on the wagon.
I am on an exclusively Keto Chow diet and mine arrives next week. I can't wait! Ice cream for every meal!!!! I might splurge one day and put some high key cookies in too, I bet they crumble nicely in there.
I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and love it. I use the recipes provided as a base and then do my own flavors and so far I am very happy with the purchase. You did say something about re-spinning after add ins. To this point the add ins have not gotten chopped up during this process for me. I use Lilly chocolate chips. My guess is that they are so hard from being frozen in the freezer that the blade isn't sharp enough to slice through them. So re-spinning after add ins doesn't seem to be a problem. Can't speak for other types of add ins yet.
Hi Steve! Just ordered my Ninja Creami from Bed Bath & Beyond, with my Beyond+ it was only 143.99!! Yay!! Also got it with Klarna for 4 pmts! Not as much sticker shock! Thanks for all the great recipes, really want to try the Sour Cream Lemon! Yummmm! Blessings! Mary
Hi again Steve! I just got a flyer from Sam’s Club! They will have the Ninja Creami on sale at their website from October 27 thru Nov 24 for $129.98!! Ooops! 1 day too late for me since I already ordered mineI hope someone else can benefit from this sale! Have a great weekend! Mary.
Steve, first, thanks for all the content. I recently got a Creami and have been suitably impressed. I tried your lemon sherbert recipe and it was great! I'm very culinarily challenged and so am always looking for simple foods. If you have any bottles of Supercoffee, I found it makes a great base! I literally just poured a bottle of their Punkin Spice coffee in a creami pint, added a few basics, dash of salt, splash of vanilla, 2 T allulose and 1/4 tsp tara gum. Topped it to the fill line with cream or half & half. It was great! May add a dash of Pumpkin Spice mix to the next pint to up the flavors.
I'd be interested to see how this compares to the "food processor" ice-cream technique. After you make your ice-cream mix, you put it in ice cube trays (or whatever as long as it's not just one big lump, but is at least several smaller lumps). Then you take the desired amount of cubes of ice-cream and put them through the food processor. I haven't tried it, but a few web sites have said it's a great alternative to an ice-cram machine.
Great video Steve. Will try the sour cream lemon asap. My grand daughter really liked the fresh pineapple sorbet I made for her. She is 3 and a picky eater.
Steve, enjoyed your review of the Ninja Creami. I have purchased one and have used almost every day since, using keto chow as the base. I would agree on the assessment of the cost, probably won’t be a return on investment item, but does a good job making ice cream. I liked the two different shirts your wore during the making of this video. Have a great rest of your Wednesday.
Yay Colton! This looks like something that we would like. We lost our ice cream maker in our recent flood. I like that it doesn't take hours to finish. I never would have thought to use butter!
I gave in when I got my 30% kohl’s coupon and $20 kohl’s cash. Only used it a couple times so far, but it is fantastic with the Keto Chow. Considering how much keto ice cream costs, I think it was worth it to have the ability to customize my own healthy keto dessert. Both my husband and I are keto, so perfect to split a pint! Also, loved seeing Colton. (I have a son named Colton who just turned 27). 🤗
Yes. I have four pints in the freezer right now. My husband loves it and it's so much better for him than the ice cream he used to eat. I use Keto Chow, 1/4 cup cream, 1/4 cup allulose, then water to the pint mark. Chocolate Keto Chow gets an extra tablespoon of cocoa. I use Catalina Crunch cookies and cereal for the add-ins. We have it for lunch every day!
Hey Steve, I bought mine thru QVC, they had a special for $179 and you got a total of 5 pint containers. Really enjoyed your review and will def try your lemon! Thanks!
Try mixing your ice cream as usual - no fat --and freeze add your fat (full whipping cream is my favorite) to the product just before putting it thru the creami. I use the milk shake function. Works great and I love it.
Good review! I’m loving mine since I can be in control of the ingredients. I’m avoiding erythritol, so with the Creami I can enjoy keto ice cream again. I mainly make Keto Chow ice cream and enjoy it as a meal. I also love that I don’t have frozen sides off the bowl as with my Cuisinart ice cream maker.
If you make a few ahead and gave them in the freezer its not a problem. At least you have it. How many times have I wanted ice cream and had to go out to get it - now that's a problem. I'm sold on the Creami. Thank you for your fair and honest review.
Great review, I love ice cream and been thinking about it but my ice cream maker does a good job so not ready to buy one but will watch to see if they go on sale for black Friday
Off topic but I made your Pizza Chaffles for breakfast. Just wow, seriously delicious. Mind Blown, GAME CHANGER as you stated re: Chaffles!!! Looking forward to making ice cream for next month!
Your "danger pinata" shirt definitely cracked me up! Thanks for the review. For keto chow ice cream I use 4/5 oz of cream and the rest almond or coconut milk. I may also use some liquid sucralose. Sometimes I will also throw in a scoop of perfect keto collagen or some OOO flavorings. I might also toss in some lillie's chips, unsweetened coconut or almonds.
@@johnwilkinson4439 - Do you mix flavors, like chocolate peanut butter and salted caramel? Tastes like a Snickers bar. And they have other delicious combinations.
We bought a Cuisinart a while back and we were making a lot like you when we first got it. Now only maybe once a month, but we do enjoy it when we’re in the mood for ice cream. My son makes a delicious strawberry ice cream that’s to die for. That lemon sour cream sorbet sounds delicious and we’re going to have to try that one next. Thanks so much for the review Steve. 🌴🤗🌴
I have the same. I determine the break even point is around 20 batches assuming 6 dollars for top of the line ice cream per pint and factoring ingredients cost. My typical recipe. Heavy Cream or Coconut cream Sugar Substitute Flavors Salt Eggs
Ok got my creami, tried choc toffee and Carmel machiotto keto chow with salted Kerry gold but, I would definitely use unsalted butter next time. Very creamy and delish!
I've been waiting for this one. The big turn-off for me is having to have the prepared containers in the freezer. I've gotten VERY spoiled with the ice cream maker I bought at a clearance sale at Williams Sonoma for a song that has a compressor, so I don't have to prechill anything.... but it's old and has never been in great condition and it too is LOUD and big. Maybe I'll look for a used Creami once the novelty wears off.
Thank you for the honest review. Hubby and I have been on the fence about getting one, because of the price. I think we'll hold off for 2 reasons: 1- Hubby has had a statis migraine for 10 years, so the noise makes this not a good fit, and 2- we don't eat enough ice cream to dictate the cost. Maybe some day, as when we do enjoy ice cream, would be nice to have good healthy ice cream. Another excellent video.
I have the Cuisinart ICE-100 Compressor Ice Cream / Gelato Maker and I just love it. I was making it using the old fashion add ice and salt into the bucket that holds the Ice cream mixture. It was great to see another, but it looks like the Ninja Creami makes a lot less. So, if you have more than 1 person, or 2, you will need to make more.. Great Video
Thanks for the great review! I will stick with my Cuisinart but probably try your keto chow recipe and your lemon sherbet too. I can have it made in about 7 minutes and as seldom as I do it that will be ok with me. I can imagine for a family it would be well worth having though.
I got mine at Kohls with a 40% coupon and $10 coupon. I would not have paid full price! I will try your Keto chow recipe for sure! Thank you for such a thorough review and for the most adorable taste tester!
Just got mine today. It mentions in the instruction manual that the ice cream can look crumbly or powdery if your freezer is too cold. It also says that an upright or fridge freezer is better than a chest freezer as chest freezers are much colder. Thank you for the video, got to go make some ice cream now :-)
Thank you, Steve! Very thorough, as usual! I have a BulletRX that makes hot soup and ice cream plus more, and it is very loud but I prefer it to VitaMix. It has a solid engine and smaller foot print. I'm going to try using my Keto Chow (eggnog flavor) and put the mix on my icecube tray to see how the Bullet does. And BTW, Thanks for the discount code! I've shared it with my patients as well as uour videos❤
Hey Steve, loving our Creami! We've had it for a few months now and it's a rare night that we don't savor keto ice cream. As far as honeymoon period, that applied more to keto chow in our case. Initially, it was fun to experiment with different flavors, but keto chow just has a weird taste, and ultimately can't even hold a candle to store bought keto ice cream which really isn't that much more expensive than keto chow. With a little extra effort home made is the way to go. It takes a while to experiment and dial personal preference in terms of consistency and flavor, but once you get there you'll never go back to keto chow (at least not for ice cream)! In that regard I wanted to share something that turned out phenomenal. The secret mix in ingredient is those keto coconut clusters from Costco, which add extra sweet and savory, as well as a chocolate chip consistency to a generic chocolate base. I was a little disappointed with the chocolate base, I think when I made it I had even watered it down a bit from the recipe below, but after mixing in the clusters, holy cow, amazing! 2 cups heavy cream 2 cups unsweet almond milk 1/2 cup unsweet cocoa powder 3 egg yolks 1/8 oz knox gelatin 1 cup allulose 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp salt Bring heavy cream, almond milk, and cocoa powder to a simmer over medium heat, whisking until combined. Temper egg yolks, and add remaining ingredients, whisking frequently until it reaches 160 degrees. Let cool somewhat before adding to creami containers and freezing overnight. From frozen, select ice cream mode in the creami (and respin ONLY if powdery, the gelatin makes it more like soft serve), then add a generous amount of keto coconut clusters (using mix in mode).
This sounds delicious and I live in Canada where Keto Chow is extremely expensive and as for flavour I’ve never been overly impressed when using it in my baking. I’ve been making everything from scratch and homemade is the way for me to continue to Keto on, I’ve even made my own keto chocolate which is ridiculously easy once you start using cacao butter (food grade only) and melt in a pan over extremely low heat and then add Allulose and mix in cocoa powder then you can use to pour over your own coconut flakes or shreds or whatever you like and it’s literally pennies on the dollar compared to what those clusters at Costco charge plus no preservatives require just store them in the freezer. Also it’s super simple to make your own chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips (just don’t add the cacao powder and add some homemade vanilla extract). Anyway just something to do while you are waiting for your ice cream to freeze. 😁🥰❤️🇨🇦 Thanks for sharing your recipe!!!
I am watching everyone make ice cream. I haven't had ice cream in over a year now. If I never have ice cream again then oh well. Glad everyone is having fun with the Creami.
I love the Creami. I will try adding some allulose and maybe some coconut or almond milk. So far I've like just regular Keto Chow shakes made as usual with butter and water the best. For Butterfinger flavor, I mix Keto Chow Choc PB with Choc Toffee and it's pretty good! When making your sorbet, could I use all Allulose instead of mixing? I don't know that I have enough of two other sweeteners. Thanks, can't wait to try it!

Thank you for this video. I just bought a Ninji Creami at Sam's for me for Christmas from my husband. He does not shop! I got mine on sale for $99! So excited to get started!
The one with water instead of cream tasted better because the cream/milk dulls the flavors of your ingredients. I found this out by accident in 1982 working at a restaurant, and we ran out of milk.

I love your baby's reaction. Thank you for this review. I'm buying this on Saturday and I can't wait😃
I love my Ninja Creami. My ice cream maker was on its last leg so it was a good time to get a new one. It's fun to have an ice cream cone again with Enlighten cones (once in awhile). I'm definitely going to try your lemon sour cream, that sounds wonderful.
Love this video, thanks for making it!! I’ve only used mine once and didn’t care for it but now I’m excited to make your recipes.
If I leave it on the countertop for 20mins and THEN put it through the "ice cream" cycle, it comes out creamy the first time
You have more patience than I do. 😄
Your grandson is so cute! Thank you for doing this video. I was thinking about buying this.
1 Packet Orange Cream Keto Chow
4tbsp Butter
1tbps sweetner (better mouthfeel)
3 short squirts of Mio Orange Cream (tastes like an old school Push Up from the ice cream truck)
Some whipped cream on top.
I've tried 3 things and loved them all based on your recommendations. Just purchased a Creami. Can't wait to try it!!!
Thank you for the review. Helped me make the decision to wait.
Good job as usual! I just bought the latest $70 Cuisinart and it makes Keto chow ice cream in 12 minutes very very quietly!. Love it.
There are hundreds of cuisinart products, which one did you purchase , please ! b
Thank you, just added the cuisinart to my account, Love Ice cream ❤️
Thank you Steve for another interesting video.
Thank you for giving this great review. It is all over the keto chow community it’s where they will have their shake as ice cream, so it’s a meal replacement, if you so choose. I too thought the price seemed a bit high. Have not yet jumped on the wagon.
Thanks for the thorough review - lots of helpful information to help people make their decision!
I am on an exclusively Keto Chow diet and mine arrives next week. I can't wait! Ice cream for every meal!!!! I might splurge one day and put some high key cookies in too, I bet they crumble nicely in there.
Thank you, Steve, for this great review! And for figuring out the perfect recipe formulas for us!
Another GREAT informational video. The honesty is what I always appreciate.
Excellent review, thank you Steve.
Cool and thorough review. Thanks!
I have learned a lot from watching your videos. Thank You - you're the best.
Yummmm! Blessings!
Mary
That’s a great price!
Mary.
@@8Worship7Dancer What are you talking about, we are in October !
@@bgueberdenteich5206 the sale starts on October 27 & runs through November 24. It was an advance sale flyer in the mail!
I don’t know what that is. Is it a coffee syrup like the Skinny Girl stuff?
I'd be interested to see how this compares to the "food processor" ice-cream technique. After you make your ice-cream mix, you put it in ice cube trays (or whatever as long as it's not just one big lump, but is at least several smaller lumps). Then you take the desired amount of cubes of ice-cream and put them through the food processor. I haven't tried it, but a few web sites have said it's a great alternative to an ice-cram machine.
I have tried this, well sort of, with deep frozen strawberries and some hwc. Works like a charm.
I don't know if I need to replace my Cuisinart just yet. But I do love your honest, thorough reviews of products.
Great video Steve. Will try the sour cream lemon asap. My grand daughter really liked the fresh pineapple sorbet I made for her. She is 3 and a picky eater.
⭐️Thanks for the review!⭐️
Steve, enjoyed your review of the Ninja Creami. I have purchased one and have used almost every day since, using keto chow as the base. I would agree on the assessment of the cost, probably won’t be a return on investment item, but does a good job making ice cream. I liked the two different shirts your wore during the making of this video. Have a great rest of your Wednesday.
But your CREAMI makes you happy, brings you and loved ones, joy and that is PRICELESS !
Yay Colton!
This looks like something that we would like. We lost our ice cream maker in our recent flood. I like that it doesn't take hours to finish.
I never would have thought to use butter!
Another fantastic video from Steve at Serious keto. Thanks !!!
You are shopping right!😉
Amen keto ice cream cost like $7
WOW! WHAT A DEAL!
Great evaluation. Very helpful in my determination as to whether I really need to splurge on another trendy gadget. Thanks Steve 👍🏼
💜🤩🥰 ~ Thanks Steve & Colton
1/4 cup allulose? Wow, that seems like a lot.
I did take extensive notes as I experimented to arrive at this go-to recipe
I'll have to try gradually upping my amount and see what happens...
Hey Steve, I bought mine thru QVC, they had a special for $179 and you got a total of 5 pint containers. Really enjoyed your review and will def try your lemon! Thanks!
thanks for the review. well done, sir.
This was such a helpful video! Definitely considering this hard for the holidays. Crossing my fingers for a black Friday sale.
I LOVEEEE your reviews! I trust you!
Try mixing your ice cream as usual - no fat --and freeze add your fat (full whipping cream is my favorite) to the product just before putting it thru the creami. I use the milk shake function. Works great and I love it.
I’ll have to try that. Thanks.
What sweetener do you use ? Please ?
Do you use any Keto Chow in it?
@@nadogrl yes. I have tried a variety of flavors but chocolate is my favorite.
Heavy Cream or Coconut cream
Sugar Substitute
Flavors
Salt
Eggs
Thanks for the review. Not on my want list, I hardly use the ice cream maker I have.
Great info. The one thing I was hoping for was how you compared this to other traditional icecream makers.
My “traditional” ice cream maker got knocked off the counter and the drive housing shattered. That’s why I wound up buying a Creami.
Glad I could help with your decision.
Colton is so cute, and boy he sure liked the sorbet. I fount that if I just do it twice on light it works well.
Great Video
Great review Steve thanks I hope to buy one when the price comes down a bit
Thanks for the great review! I will stick with my Cuisinart but probably try your keto chow recipe and your lemon sherbet too. I can have it made in about 7 minutes and as seldom as I do it that will be ok with me. I can imagine for a family it would be well worth having though.
Just got my creami & am excited to try it out. Thanks for the thorough review & recipes.
Definitely look up my sour cream sherbet video/recipe. That works wonderfully in the Creami.
Only review I've seen that mentions cleaning at all. Thank you! It's the number 1 thing I want to know about a product before buying, haha.
I got mine at Kohls with a 40% coupon and $10 coupon. I would not have paid full price! I will try your Keto chow recipe for sure! Thank you for such a thorough review and for the most adorable taste tester!
That’s a great deal!
Your grandson is so adorable, I remember when my daughter was that age and it was a gray one.
Thank you for the review. I just found out a year ago I'm lactose intolerant and would love to make my own ice cream. I can't wait to buy one.
If you have a Costco membership, it was $149 with 3 pint jars the last time I was there.
Just got mine today. It mentions in the instruction manual that the ice cream can look crumbly or powdery if your freezer is too cold. It also says that an upright or fridge freezer is better than a chest freezer as chest freezers are much colder. Thank you for the video, got to go make some ice cream now :-)
Adore watching your Grandson taste nothing but pure, icy smooth watermelon. He'll love it for life. And have fond memories of you giving it to him. :)
Especially with a sprinkle of fleur de sel finishing salt. If you've never had it on watermelon, it's a taste explosion.
@@SeriousKeto I have. The only way Mom would serve it to us. (See, I remember Mom)
Love your t-shirt!! We have those nests all over the place at my mother-in-law’s farm!! 😬
Thanks so much helped me out was trying to decide if I wanted to spend that much this helped alot
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups unsweet almond milk
1/2 cup unsweet cocoa powder
3 egg yolks
1/8 oz knox gelatin
1 cup allulose
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
Bring heavy cream, almond milk, and cocoa powder to a simmer over medium heat, whisking until combined.
Interesting about the box condition from Amazon. I have been seeing this often now with my deliveries from Amazon.
Thank you. Very nice review. 2krazy Ketos did one too. Both helped me decide that I do not need one.
So Steve.. Since the "honeymoon is over" I'll take it off your hands!
Loved your taste tester! Colton sold me on this maker!
I have 4 pints in the freezer that I made last night. I used the recipe that 2KrazyKetos had on their podcast. Haven't used mine yet but they are ready to go. Did use Keto Chow. I have been looking forward to your review. You never disappoint.
Thanks Steve it helped a lot got my choczero products enjoy in them
I've been waiting for your review of the Ninja Creami. I got mine about three weeks ago and love it. I'm glad to have some more tips and tricks, and will be watching the video again for your quantities and measurements. I got mine mainly to make Keto Chow ice cream and wow, it REALLY does make them creamier. Great review and thanks for the info. If you have any future ideas, please keep us informed. The one with water instead of cream tasted better because the cream/milk dulls the flavors of your ingredients.
I found this out by accident in 1982 working at a restaurant, and we ran out of milk.
