Thank you for walk through of Station. Very well though out. The one thing that I thought was the neatest was the garage door off wht. Room. Very great not just for ventilation, but replacement or fix of work out equipment, can be pulled out to outer deck. Then boom lifted down to ground. Or just maybe in my Humble opinion. The Ladder truck could Hoist it down. The lower meeting room, just a thought. Could that not be used for community area on a natural Diester. The people that needed a place to stay could cook food. The station is big enough to house relief for the area. A headquarters for command and control.
Beautiful station. In the bunk rooms. What happens if you pick up on another shift and your murphy bed happens to be across from another employee working as well? They dont look like they could both clear folded down? Just curious :)

These fire houses look so bland and boring there’s no personality. Don’t get me wrong they look very nice and clean but they don’t give me the traditional feeling and personality.
Meanwhile most of the citizens are living paycheck to paycheck and have seen their real estate taxes in 10 to 15 years go from $500 a year to $7,000 to $10,000 year with annual 10% tax increases to pay for these local government Taj Mahals. Sort like school districts that think local taxes is 'free money' and install $15,000 digital blackboards in gym locker rooms like the HS basketball team is in the NBA.

As impressive as 11's new house is, I think you would've been even more awed if you saw the old one: 5280fire.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/AdamsCounty_Sta11.jpg That building now houses the department's fire prevention office and second home to Riley, the accelerant detection dog. Also, since you asked early in the video, administration is colocated with Station 14, and today the building looks nothing like it did when built in 1980 as North Washington Station 31--you'd think it was every bit as new as Station 11. Interesting to hear mention of the successful merger between North Washington and SWAC in 2015 but not the one that didn't work with South Adams County Fire. in 2019 which fell apart in less than six months. Sometimes there's more to learn from the things that don't go according to plan than the ones that do. Regardless, SAC is a quality organization in its own right. (EDIT: If anyone from either department reads this, understand I'm not pointing fingers. Rather, it's a good example that mergers don't always work and consolidation isn't always the best solution for the communities their fire departments serve. Consolidation is an expensive and time-consuming ordeal, so ACFPD and SACFD could both offer insight to other agencies considering that avenue in terms of the stumbling blocks they might have missed before setting off down that road.) Mention is also made of the department's role in technical rescue. Specifically, they're a member agency of North Area Technical Rescue Team (NATRT), which also includes Arvada FPD, Brighton FRD, Federal Heights FD, Frederick-Firestone FPD, North Metro FRA, Mountain View F-R, SACFD, Thornton FD and Westminster FD, and responds to technical rescue incidents in Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, Jefferson and Weld Counties. ACFPD is also a member of Adams Jefferson County Hazardous Response Authority--the specialist-level hazmat team covering the two counties, plus Broomfield city and county through its association with North Metro, who is also a member agency--and houses a support apparatus (HazMat 3) at Station 12. 3:31 It's actually a 1942 General Safety on a Chevy chassis that started its career at Hill Army Airfield in Utah. 35:07 Cameo appearance from Brighton Engine 51. 41:57 Glad to see they're keeping old "Southern Comfort" up and running. Lastly, your map at 11:22 is misleading: ACFPD's district is actually just north of Denver, right where I-25 and I-76 cross on the map, not out in the sticks where the pin is located. Another great episode, Mike, and another great Colorado department. Keep 'em coming!
