That wasn't Tom, Eric....that was Tommy, his son who also won The Open.............died very young. Legend has it he died of a broken heart after he lost a loved one.
GOlf Academy of America “03” and 15 years working on the grounds of California’s coastal courses, including Pebble Beach. I’ve seen and heard some cool stuff. These videos by Scratch are some of the best shows I’ve seen yet. Keep it up boys. Look forward to the next one. Try Monterey Pines GC in Monterey. Best short course in Cali.
This is the best vlog iv seen on TH-cam Eric.the history on golf and in my beautiful country was second to none. The nxt time you come over to Scotland come to the royal musselburgh in prestonpans we have the oldest golf cub in the world and still gets played for to this day,the old club cup, which is that valuable they can put a price on it thanks
I. got the feeling in this blog that you was taking the piss out of the first golf course in the world , I stay in Dundee just 15 miles away , and I'm a prod Scotts man and keen golfer
i'm 37yrs old and i have been planning a trip to St.Andrews since i was 28.. couple more years and my turn is up! Steady grinding to +4 or better handicap (legit) lol before i play there..Self taught is a motha! lol
Daniel lee If the wind blows you’ll struggle to break 90. It can be a very hostile environment. If there’s no wind, you’ll be disappointed with level par.
Place can be brutal. We had three rounds at the old course. Plus the new course and the jubilee. Played mid July. Sunny and gorgeous one day and 44 with 40 mph winds and rain. Wicked land.
Says he isn't great at lotteries, 3 years later he wins the Masters Media Lottery on his first try and gets to play Augusta National the Monday after the Masters. What a lucky guy
True, but the video made it seem as if he confused Young Tom's for Old Tom's. He should have clarified the difference for the viewers and shown Old Tom's
All the way throughout this video I was wondering who this voice is reminding of and finally I figured out - it is Benjamin Clymer from Hodinkee just in case you dudes are into watches.
Funny how this episode is about Tom Morris giving "ordinary" people the chance to play golf, yet in the comments i mostly see butt hurt old guys from england who complains about Eriks clothing, behaviour or anything he says and calling him an "annoying tourist" etc. Way to go lol. Great series Skratchtv!
St Andrews might be the 'Home' of the Open but the Championship wiz born in Prestwick Ayrshire over jist 12 holes and has the only existing hole in Championship golf that has an unsighted green called ' Himalaya ' that's a par 3 and your fairways are just 20 yds wide with the first cut 6 inches deep and your 2nd cut..... deeeeep it's also a links course and Royal Troon is the next course north, I think the Laws and the Rules were finally established at St Andrews giving them the Royal Charter but the players call Prestwick " Auld Prestwick" a ken that cos' when a wiz wee boy we played at the burgh coup at the far end of the course near the 'Pow burn'
That was Young Tom Morris’ memorial you were at. Whilst father and son are buried in close proximity it’d be nice if you’d have gotten that right as some may misconstrue your sentiments as a bit half baked. Out of curiosity, why would you even contemplate sarcasm at a grave? Also, I think you needed to be at Musselburgh to be at the oldest of courses. Well worth a go. Still, I hope you had a really good time.
A recent convert to EAL content . . . . . . . . this early EAL has that youthful U.S. centric smugness. It's incredible how much he has grown over the years and is more understanding and accepting of the broader world after seven seasons.
Really enjoyed the video but St Andrews is not really the oldest golf course in the world it's the oldest 18 hole one. Musselburgh 9 hole in Edinburgh is actually the oldest.
Golf Fox I just played royal Dornoch (championship course) and it’s older than St. Andrews. St. Andrews is the 5 oldest, behind musselburgh, both the Dornoch courses and a few more
What Carnoustie let me tell you Go it is Fantastic . See the hotel well from the 18th the bottom part right side is where I had a full Scottish breakfast och there is nothing like it and above it 2nd floor was my room tea coffee trooser press shower was weird but great time . On 18th before burn on right there is a bunker named MILLER'S BUNKER because he could not get out. I too found that but got out first time cleared burn and was 10 foot from pin . If I could play that again I would. Paul in uk.
good vid. just a slight historical error: you say that the game of golf was invented by tom morris, which it wasn't. it was invented by william s. golf, inventor of golf. he is my great great uncle in fact.
This series is too good, really well put together and an phenomenal idea of a web series. Props to its creators.
I love it
That interview with Sheila from her window was classic.
classic Sheila
"You couldn't grow anything there, not even weed." Haha great. This is an awesome show, please keep them coming.
Knowing that im good enough to play the old course is all i need in golf
At this point in his career, he had to make a tee time. Now every course wants him to film there. How awesome!
That wasn't Tom, Eric....that was Tommy, his son who also won The Open.............died very young. Legend has it he died of a broken heart after he lost a loved one.
Thank you for proving my point that you can enjoy sports through great content - never thought I’d want to play golf in Scotland but now I do
This programme is the best I ever witness on You tube.
How do you miss your TT for freaking St. A's?!
Blaims it on the "traffic" lol
St Andrew's as a town is fantastic, steeped in history pre golf....But playing the old course just gives you the chills but in a wonderful way
Production quality is great. Thanks guys
some of the most awesome golf content on youtube!
that sand as Erik was walking looks brilliant
This series is so good. I wish every eposode was at least 30 mins
I could listen to them talk all day.

Just found this series and I’m pretty sure I’m going to watch every episode today.. or at least I’m gonna try. The host is a beauty lol

It all came good Erik & a lot of rather good fun...FORE!
The coolest man in golf
I watched the movie about old Tom Morris and his son .It was very good. It’s so sad what happened to young Tommy and his wife and child.
Finally, Golf I can understand. ⛳️
Good stuff... but I'm sure as you know the grave that you were at was Young Tom Morris' grave.
Old Tom Morris grave is actually at the foot of his sons memorial.
I. got the feeling in this blog that you was taking the piss out of the first golf course in the world , I stay in Dundee just 15 miles away , and I'm a prod Scotts man and keen golfer
Erik is "Vice" of the golf world. Love it.
Just played the old course.. Special place..
Carnoustie and Muerfiled were amazing but the only course I want to play again is - The Old Course!!
don't know if anybody else as told you but the oldest is musselburgh is.
'handicap of 24' followed by 'no hackers allowed!'
uhm...
Cam Ehly Well you can be a normal player you just haven't played as long as other people
These hackers man
That memorial’s for Young Tom....
Prestwick was the first course the open was played on..1860
Where do I get one of those "fore play" hats? That's hilarious!
I am jealous. Sawgrass is in my near future but to play on an old Tom course is the ultimate privilege.
Sign us up for a trip to Scotland!
Played it with a tee time after 4 pm. And amazingly it did not rain at all during my round.
great first episode
Ive been there once before, beautiful place, the cemetery by the ocean is incredible. Great video.
There are older courses, like Musselburgh outside Edinburgh
OMG Mr Soutar! What a legend! love that man!
There is an awesome movie about Young and Old Tom Morris called "Tommy's Honour"
last clip was the best! hahaha
Very public conversation from her balcony it was funny 😂
i'm 37yrs old and i have been planning a trip to St.Andrews since i was 28.. couple more years and my turn is up! Steady grinding to +4 or better handicap (legit) lol before i play there..Self taught is a motha! lol

@skratch I see Tom Morris on the green at 9:04. Can you confirm?
Madhu Santhana whatever that is it's quite odd!
Great video
How do you miss your tee time at St Andrews? The fuckkkkkk
I would actually cry if I got a tee time there and was one minute late
Where in the hell did you get that Fore Play hat and where can I get one???
Matt Kricheli I typed "for play hat" into google. They are $45 lol. Still hilarious though.
How are you not gonna post the scorecard, mate?
What type of ball did you put on the memorial
Lmao you missed your tee time when you were filming a show about golf... That's an epic fail man
Yeah the boys!
Should of showed more of the course Eric !
1:20 - bro they are all playing hockey lol
I abso-fucking-lutely loved this.
Erik, check out the Musselburgh Old Course Golf Links. The world`s OLDEST golf course :-)
That opening tee shot was fucking brutal lol did you hear that sound it made at contact
As a Scots man i can say that 50 mps winds aren't that bad
what did he shoot?
Ye look like a mad flasher wae that jacket on
Says he isn't great at lotteries, 3 years later he wins the Masters Media Lottery on his first try and gets to play Augusta National the Monday after the Masters. What a lucky guy
nickoutdoors I was thinking the same thing
You do realize the memorial you left the golf ball on was for Young Tom Morris, not Old Tom Morris, right? Old Tom Morris died in 1908...
Him confusing young tommy's memorial for Old Tom's, ruined this episode for me
True, but the video made it seem as if he confused Young Tom's for Old Tom's. He should have clarified the difference for the viewers and shown Old Tom's
Aashir Iftikhar and me 😥
Earth condom!!! Lol haha Love it!
I m not that great at lotterys ... Erik anders lang won a lottery to play augusta
Thumbs Up!!!!
i really enjoyed it :D
By the way, stop playing golf and go on with bagpipe.

Aaron Keogh
Homer letter from his psrentts
I really hope my friend dan helped caddy for you!
All the way throughout this video I was wondering who this voice is reminding of and finally I figured out - it is Benjamin Clymer from Hodinkee just in case you dudes are into watches.
I played Beth page black and shot a 93 and I’m 14

My dad has played this course
Did LIV golf steal your slogan of 'Golf. But Louder'?
that was jr at the cemetery.

That wasn't Old Tom Morris that was his son, you where standing on old Tom's grave

Royal Dornoch is the greatest course in the world. I’ve played all the fancies throughout the world
That wasn’t old Tom’s grave, that was young Tom, his son. He died in 1875 on Christmas Day.
wow 😍😍😍😍😍
Bobby Jones said that? I thought he said "hit it hard, it will come down somewhere."
Why do you disrespect that bridge???
The oldest golf course in the world is actually the Old Musselburgh Golf Club in Scotland, not the old course
Thomas Scott that just isn’t true. www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/oldest-golf-course/

Allergic to bad weather? Hot with blazing sun all year is pretty fucking bad weather to me. Gross. I'd rather have scotland's weather.
Where can i get that hat?
Did...did he just hit with a wedge off a green!?
That is Young Toms Memorial
What beats me is why would anyone dislike this video? Some sad folks out there..
0:58 "I'm not that great at lotteries" *Wins lottery to play Augusta on his first try
She said not just for a game for the rich. Today a set of irons costs $800. A driver is half that.
good vid. just a slight historical error: you say that the game of golf was invented by tom morris, which it wasn't. it was invented by william s. golf, inventor of golf. he is my great great uncle in fact.
The homie gets stoned and misses his tee time. Lolololol
Missing an 11:30 tee time? I yelled at my phone. Wtfwyfd?
he looks like the guy from the vice ball commercials
that was the grave of "young" Tom Morris the son of "old" Tom. Died young from a broken heart after his wife died.
That’s young tom morris hahah
Royal mussulburgh is oldest course in world i think
Not the oldest Gold Course, I'm afraid. Look up Musselburgh Links. Thank me later.
The was tommy Morris’s grave not old Tom Morris 😂
The earth was far from an accident. God is very real
