Hey Rick it isn’t letting me enter you give away on the last vid but I love your channel and I live just out side St. Andrews in Cupar where there is the oldest nine hole course in the world. I would love to get a prize or something from you
Absolutely loved this 2 parter Rick. You've gotta make a mini series going around different cities and doing the same thing as what you've done here. Great content 👏👏👏👍
I love having two part videos like this, especially when they dont feel like 2 parters. From a "Social Media" Standpoint, it reinforces that you're telling a story of sorts. Its a really good release flow.
Probably the best thing I've seen on not only TH-cam but any network in a long time. Reminds me of my dad and grandad getting into golf for the first time.
Im wondering if i have a bogus set of clubs then. I bought them for $200 about 10 years ago but only started playing within the last 3 years...every club 3w thru 6 iron goes 135-150...7-9 about 100...all of em straight as an arrow but i dont see how 3w thru 6 iron can all go the same distance

Rick goes out and buys some old clubs and plays well with them the first time out ... I wish I could play as well as that with the clubs I've been using for the past 6 years! Great vid!
This goes to show you that the clubs don't make much difference in most golfers. I have a set of 1998 clubs that still hit as good as a brand new set, except for the lack of spin due to the worn faces.

Great 2 part series there Rick. Really enjoyed seeing St Andrews. Your "negotiating" skills paid off showing us that you don't need the fanciest clubs to enjoy a game.
This maybe the best video you've ever put on TH-cam Rick, thank you for doing this, as we've enjoyed your joy! What I've learned the most after watching this video Rick? You've finally found thee Putter, that you always needed! If we've learned nothing but the fact that golf is very old, and what is old in golf, will be new again in the future, because golf is timeless.
The top flight xl-2000 brought back memories. Taking my Dad’s 9i and hitting it around the property growing up. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Rick!
I still use that exact Big Bertha wood (except it's a 7 wood) to this day. It's a great club and feels amazing to me. It's the only old club in my bag I haven't replaced yet.
I'll second the idea of a collab. Maybe sort of like the Golfbidder challenge, but Rick gives Stacked Golf a tiny budget (maybe $100 or less) where they go out and buy the clubs for him and then he plays a round with those clubs...
At 40 years old Rick, I have just started playing golf, and I have to say every video I watch of yours inspires me even more… Thanks pal, and keep them coming
One of your best videos ever! Also, I love that you mentioned one of my other favorite channels STACKED GOLF in part 1. It’s a true bucket list trip for me to make it to St. Andrews. It probably won’t ever happen, but a guy can dream, right? Thanks for doing what you do!
New to the channel and never comment on stuff, but the happiness on your face in the secondhand shop… 100 percent me too. Looking at all the old top line stuff. Wish we had more of that in Canada. And growing up a golfer without much money - all I could do was wish and hope. I would get the Golf Digest new club issue every year and just salivate. Meanwhile playing an ancient set of hand-me-downs. I now indulge the same way. Although, I was never an XL 2000 guy. Preferred the XL. Loved the video.
Rick, would love to see more of this type of video. That Callaway 3+ looks absolutely mint. There's something beautiful about playing with old equipment and still hitting good shots or at least seeing how you can do. I regularly get out my old Ping i3 irons or my Top-Flite Tour Titanium set just to feel the vibe. The score is secondary. And the Stacked Golf people acknowledged your shout out. Maybe they'll send you some classics.
It's wonderful to see how happy you are Rick. Not just in your golf but in your life in general! I love your content so much. It's never stale, always warm-hearted, and just brings joy to those of us who love this crazy game. Cheers!
I watch your videos often and had a good laugh when I saw your excitement finding the Ping Eye 2 1 iron in St Andrews. I own a full set of Ping Eye 2's that I bought used about 30 years ago. Black dot 1 iron thru PW. I love them as much today as day 1. I've had them reshafted a dozen times due to early rage at poor shots. The fitter at Edwin Watts store would call the hand full of broken clubs I brought him weekly a "bouquet" of heads, lol, as each head had 4 or 5 inches of broken shaft hanging out of the heads. No more rage, as age has brought a touch of maturity....no...self control. Anyway, love your videos...love to reminisce about the 45 hole Marathon days. Along with my Anser 2, circa Greg Norman putter, I wouldn't change a thing. I can't do it anymore, but nothing beats flushing the Ping Eye 2 off the deck on a par 5,. Hoping to putt for eagle. Oh, Rick, also carry a 14 and 20 degree Orlimar Tri metal fairway woods...with the rails under. F.....ing love it. Thanks for the memories!
I played St Andrews in 1983 without even knowing how special it was. I took a train ride from Edinboro ( sp) while in the United States Marine Corp reserves, by myself on a weekend. Can't remember the details but played St. Andrews as a walk on new golfer w a rental set. I had no idea how special a place it was, and didn't appreciate until 10 years later when I got hooked on golf. Go figure.

Rick I have recently taken up golf more seriously and with my very limited budget your videos have helped me tremendously. Thank you for your passion for the game and sharing your knowledge!
Love it! Now a month into my new job at the local municipal par 3 course, not a pitch and put, in Loughborough and keep telling the players that Rick is the guy to follow on TH-cam. I also am loving life after lock down and getting back into golf after almost 20 years away from the game. Soon be into those dew laden, misty early autumn mornings with low sun rising through the trees, can't wait.
Love seeing you giddy like a kid on the course, I think I smiled as much as you did while walking the streets and playing St. Andrews which is a dream of mine!! your pure joy of playing golf made this video my absolute favorite so far. keep them coming, please. though the last few holes remind me of my game. which has gotten much better, thank you sir!
When you spotted those DCI's on the shelf, my heart sank. I had a those once. 1 through LW on stock steel shafts. Bought them in the late 90's but had to sell them in 2008 when the housing market crashed (bk). Golf clubs, and fishing gear. Gone. I already hit a 7.5 degree driver, a Titleist 907D2, but those irons would be a nice gift. 😉 Thanks for sharing your experience Rick. ✌🏻⛳️
Thank you sir, just goes to show you don't need an expensive set of clubs. Just a great passion and an amazing swing and most importantly, have fun Thanks Rick, always look forward to seeing your videos and posts on Instagram.
That hat suits you for sure, looks great! Love the 2 videos you did here. This could be such a fun, albeit expensive series, where you visit different places, purchase used or old clubs from the area, and play a few holes or a round with them. As much as St. Andrew's has been on my bucket list, your videos made me want to go now. Great videos, great tips. Keep up the amazing work and have fun with all of it. Top golfer on TH-cam by far!
Brilliant videos Rick. My gran used to live in St Andrews and we'd visit her a few times a year so those videos brought back some great memories of my childhood 😃
Ive never even played a round of golf before and the amount of tips that you have taught me are going to be put to the test in a few days. I love your videos 1😁
Another fun video! This shows that it's not necessarily the "arrow" but the "Indian"! When I began playing golf in the late 70's you had to HIT a good shot to GET a good shot. Nothing compared with a solid "on the screws" drive or a sweet spot strike with a forged blade! I recently cleaned out my old clubs and donated them to the local Hospice Store. Those old blades were hard to part with but I'm too old to use them and their faces were worn down. I hope Rick does more videos with the old clubs!
Rick, great video in which your love of the game and its history shone bright. I played The Jubilee many years ago and your six holes brought back such emotive memories. Must get back to St. Andrews soon to take on those “Golfing Gods”.
Been watching a lot, I mean a lot of your videos and I haven't seen such pure enjoyment in you playing a round as much as I have in this video. And the previous video of you shopping was quite enjoyable as well.
Love your videos. They are so honest and fun to watch. They make me feel like it’s me the one who is playing or buying the clubs. Regards from Guatemala.
Brilliant Rick, love it. Reminded me I must go back to St Andrews soon. Had a fantastic weekend 13 years ago with two of my brothers and my best buddy at the time, best golf trip ever for me and so many great memories.

So much fun and I'm learning so much from you. Please do more videos like this one! Now, I'm late for work, but can't wait to see more of your stuff. Thank you for taking us along for the ride!
Well done mate. Funny how we like shiny new things. Those clubs still perform, makes you wonder why we change or how we look at someone with clubs they've had for 20 yrs.
I hit like before watching. That's how happy I am to see another Rick video. This is undoubtedly as close as I'll ever get to playing St. Andrews, so, thanks Rick!
It’s a pleasure to see you enjoy the game so much! Glad I’m not the only one who talks to the ball mid-flight!
Fantastic video rick. Love to see you test different clubs👍👍👍
A mate of mine put me onto Rick Shiels as I have started to get into Golf and his content is outstanding! Just enjoying it all! Thanks for the amazing content!
your pure joy of playing golf made this video my absolute favorite so far. keep them coming, please.
though the last few holes remind me of my game. which has gotten much better, thank you sir!
These last two videos are literally every golfers bucket list. Amazing content
Rick, these videos were the best videos on your channel. Absolutely excellent. Reminds me of the golfbidder glory days!
This was my favorite video in a long time! Always wanted to play over there. I was the Top Flight king back in the day!!
Rick, we are right there with you in your adventures and your highs. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Amazing job with the second hand clubs Rick.
Would love to see you do a full course blog with these clubs! Seriously fun video, you killed it mate!
Just watched both of the St Andrew’s videos . Best you Tube golf I have seen for a long time . Good work Rick
Rick, great video in which your love of the game and its history shone bright. I played The Jubilee many years ago and your six holes brought back such emotive memories. Must get back to St. Andrews soon to take on those “Golfing Gods”.
Loved these two part videos! One of my favourite videos! It’s great to see old clubs being used and with great results! Keep the content flowing! ❤️
Been watching a lot, I mean a lot of your videos and I haven't seen such pure enjoyment in you playing a round as much as I have in this video. And the previous video of you shopping was quite enjoyable as well.
Great set of videos Rick! Showcased not only this wonderful game that captivates us, but also the wonderful destination that St. Andrews truly is!!
Love your videos. They are so honest and fun to watch. They make me feel like it’s me the one who is playing or buying the clubs. Regards from Guatemala.
Love the enthusiasm for the old clubs. I seem to have the most fun with my half set of Ping Eye2's
Loved the videos, Rick. I made the pilgrimage to St Andrew’s from Australia in 2009 and your videos bring back the joy I felt having a hit there
Brilliant Rick, love it. Reminded me I must go back to St Andrews soon. Had a fantastic weekend 13 years ago with two of my brothers and my best buddy at the time, best golf trip ever for me and so many great memories.
The hat is all about style, and you've got it. Sensational video displaying the joy of golf and being in the moment. Thanks.
You are so right about how you were feeling about your day. I was laughing and ooing with you. Great fun and awesome day. Cheers Rick.
Been hype for this second part Rick . Your channel never gets old , love it 💯🎯
