I had a variation of the deluxe pack for the regular GBA lmao I think i tried a few accessories for the GBA SP and it usually ended up degrading the experience because it was such a good handheld stock out of the box lol dope vid

You were wrong regarding the gba sp being backlit. It was only backlit for the AGS 101 model of the sp which came out later and thus didn’t sell as well and is less common. Your model is clearly a AGS 001 (you can tell from the screen) and is only front lit, not backlit

the Gameboy SP was my childhood I loved playing the sims on it omg and I used to bring it to school and all the kids had one too and well sneak it in class it was just great 🙂
My first gameboy was the gameboy advance, it was £5 at a car boot sale, with 4 games, including Pokémon fire red!

There is one thing your missing - an FM radio module w/ headphone, power, and link passthrough ports... Which is actually surprisingly useful.
For the hinge, wrap a rubber band around it, that will add the pressure needed in order to hold it in place.

this has already probably been said, but that system has a backlit screen. you just hit that button with the sun symbol on it to turn on the lights.
