The Game Gear needed something like this. The thing needed like 6 batteries to run for 2-3 hours. I had to use the power adaptor it came with.

Brandon Salt like the top corners of the case could be shoulder buttons for rotating ,then there would be one button on the left and one button one the right on the case for left/right movement and the buttons could be slid down for a quick soft drop and the case would be easy to remove in case you wanted to play something other than Tetris
