    We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press.This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.

    Instead of the butter wheel get a smaller bain-marie pot and fill it with clarified butter oil. Keep that on the griddle with a ladle and you can use that on everything from buns to basting. After you're done you can let it cool down, cover and throw it in the fridge until the next time you need it.

    Great video! I agree with your recommendations, but the best is an extra table of some sort is absolutely necessary for ease of use.

    I love the griddle scoop. It is great for getting rice and veggies off the griddle. I have both sizes but prefer the smaller one since it is easier to maneuver

    Due to the inconsistency of temperature across the griddle surface an infrared thermometer can be invaluable.

    I like the grease catchers. They are so versatile. If you need a sauce or want to make a soup or stew on the Blackstone they are handy as disposable dishes. Of course there are various sizes as well.

    What do you suggest for accessories for people who can’t afford a lot? Myself, I use a cast iron skillet for a press and squeeze water bottles for oil and water. I’ve found I can get the same results without all the accessories accept the bare ones.

    • @minerstuff1028
      @minerstuff1028  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are ways to get by with the bare bones. I would just buy the good spatula that is wide with the edge to scrape. You can use it as a spatula, press, scraper and basically not need anything else to do most cooks with

    I've been looking at the Blackstone to replace my current gas grill, but I've gotten stuck because I think I want the one with the warming tray and air fryer, $477 lowest price I could find. But the basic large one may do just as well? I got analysis paralysis...

    • @minerstuff1028
      @minerstuff1028  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go air fryer. We've had the small ones up the the big one and then upgraded to the ones with air fryers. It's so much easier to do it all in one spot than run back and forth to the kitchen. You won't be disappointed!

      @@minerstuff1028 Yeah, I've been thinking that the consolidation of appliances (whether in or outside) would be really convenient!

    I always use the spatula mat, rarely use the big press usually always use the smaller one, the egg rings just take up space and I never use the butter roller 😂

    The only thing I disagree with is the butterer! I love to have one I just store the butter in it in my fridge. I eat burgers and hotdogs a lot so it’s convince and makes the buns better

      For me the butter wheel is biggest waste only used it once

    • @The_Blackstone_Guy
      @The_Blackstone_Guy ปีที่แล้ว

      Butter wheel needs like 2 sticks of butter for to actually work and just gets wasted because who needs that much butter for a few burger buns. Another was the big dinosaur ring kit, that got used once and just takes up space now and pancakes doesn’t even really look like a dinosaur.

    Why buy bottles???? Ketchup bottles work great, you already bought the ketchup so why buy additional bottles? What ever you do, don't get those 32 oz Blackstone bottles. Big and bulky and $20???? No way, Jose.

    A meat thermometer is a must have???? Probably easier just to learn how to cook! Especially if you're going to have a food based TH-cam channel!
