It might be better if I didn't have the most amazing bottle of Old Forester SBBS Rye sitting on my bar that I paid 90$ for. OF SBBS Rye kills everything I have put it up against. I have MWND Act 12 Scene 4, I'm gonna say its a 3 out of 5, pretty good. Agree with your comments.

Nice list for the easier to find bottles. OF and NBC are more difficult to find for me and will have greater variability from store to store and bottle to bottle. JD and Sagamore will be more brand consistent. I might give HS another shot, but the first bottle I got was so over oaked it was almost a drain pour, but too expensive so I suffered thru it.

Agree 100% on the JDSBBP & Rye Strong recommend for EHT BP, the Barrel King bourbons and ryes, ECBPs… and now I’ll add the Frank August single barrels… mine is 6.8 years and 122.6 proof. I opened it last weekend and it was awesome. Hopefully it stays great after it got some air.

its a rye whiskey, why was that such a surprise?

I just got the bottle in Jersey for $180 before tax. I opened it and it does not taste like it use to. I got a lot of spearmint or mint on mine. It was weird. Is there anything you can compare that is rye and fruit bomb that is not what I payed for?

Just bought a bottle for $95. Have passed many times at $500. Haven’t yet tried, but am looking forward to it. Not having had it, I’d have probably paid $150-200.

I said act 11 would be my my last and meant it. MWND used to be awesome now it is just another overhyped and overpriced whiskey Used to buy it every year but rather have so many better tasting finished ryes out there now.

I should have listened to you guys!! I picked up a Weber SmokeFire EX4 (2nd Gen) Wood Fired Pellet Grill for $429.99 on Amazon Prime day. During the 1st cook the pellet grill shut down and restarted 4 times due to the auger flooding the firebox with a mountain of pellets!! After finally giving up on the cook and shutting down the SmokeFire the mountain of pellet in the firebox decided to catch fire requiring me to put a fire. This pellet grill not only has a flawed design but is a tremendous fire hazard. Weber needs to do the right thing and stop selling this pellet grill with the flawed design and recall this faulty product.

I had Act 11 last year, and don't like it at all for $150

I haven't had this one. I did see it for $129 in CT which was cheaper than last years so it sounds like the prices are regional. Shouldn't these taste like rye? It is finished rye whiskey. It's not bourbon. Usually they are a blend of 95/5 rye and 80/20 rye to malted rye. I don't think there is any corn in there so there is no way it won't be rye forward. Even with a wet port finish it's tough to hide the spice from a whiskey that is almost 100% rye

Great point. It's without question, the most overpriced whiskey there is. Absolutely do not waste your money on any of these. Mediocre at best. Should be a 50 dollar whiskey.

I can get all the rye spice I want for much less from many others for a third of the price. Easy pass for me

Had a copper and cask rye finished in rum, sherry, and toasted barrels at 120 proof for 60$. It kills my midwinter act 11. Also seen masters keep sitting on the shelves at LJ and multiple other stores. No takers at that price

I tried the 100 proof Old Forester and it was just OK. I prefer the 100 proof Coopers' Craft. Like the 100 proof Early Times it is a little harder to find.

Very fortunate to be in California. Tons and tons of options. Old Fitz 19 & Russell’s 13 as a pairing (side-by-side) was amazing. Tried out a dark arts bourbon finished in port barrels next to a pour of single barrel BP Elijah Craig (117 proof). I do not recommend for a full Sunday!

Did you guys win anything in the NH liquor lotto ? I got notified for the Michters 10 yr Bourbon for $185. $$ is tight, Not sure if I want it. Also passed on Jack Daniels SB BP rye when traveling thru Maine yesterday. 1st time seeing those in New England.

How long do you recommend to leave the bourbon in the mini barrels? Not wanting to over do it.
