Genobee intentions move just like the Reaper Squad of ACV/D, where they save you on several occasions but come after you at the very end, letting you know mankind will be destroyed by the relics of the past. ^_^
I like the idea that Duel Face is purposely designed saying that "Hey, you aren't OP-Intensify? Well good luck trying to pilot this." Its a nice idea for having some ACs that are purpose designed that normal pilots can't properly use them. I kinda want to see like a list of possible purpose designed ACs that are probably meant to be used with OP-Intensify, just to show off, "Its kinda cheating, but would you complain if you had to fight a hell of laser, missiles, grenades, bullets, whatever else the guy might be packing."
My theory for Genobee in my playthrough is that he saved my raven from the MTs and the last fight against him, he escaped, like my raven giving him the same mercy he did for me.
I love this era of champion pilots. I remember being so confused about it as a kid, which I think must be how most Ravens feel when facing these seemingly impossible pilots, and their expertly crafted ACs. Bravo on another great entry. It's that time again... There are so many ACs and pilots about which we know very little. I think Genobee's the only character that meets 3 conditions: #1 rank in the arena; we fight him in a mission; we know almost nothing about him. Some, like Ares, Ace, and Mobius, we never face. Others, like Hustler One, Berlioz, and Otsdarva have fleshed out characterization and motives. Not Genobee. I mean, he takes action - he completely disregards Crest HQ orders and is central to one of the main conflicts at the end of the game, but why did he do it? I think his character intro is there - he's Crest's ace in the hole, similar to Anatolia's mercenary in AC4. His piloting dominance is put on full display twice to drive home the message. Ok. His dialogue in your fight in Bayload City could indicate he knew about Navis' resource as stated at 3:36. He was Crests' field commander, and would have access to the wealth of intelligence and classified information. Crest was also Navis' ally at the beginning, and Navis could have revealed a lot to Crest at that time. His final words "Our roles could have so easily been reversed..." gnaws at me. He didn't say our Fates could have been reversed, but our Roles. So, he's not saying he could easily won and you lost, he's saying there's some machination that could have easily put the player at the lead of some group, and Genobee's sent to hunt you down. It could relate to us being insignificant in the grand scheme, that we could switch roles and the outcome would still be the same. I'm suspicious. Here's my take: he was an enhanced human, a la Human Plus, along with 5 others (Agraya, Evangel, Pin Fire, Rim Fire, and Jack-O according to the wiki). With his monotone wording, I'm leaning toward cyberization - he was a cyborg with massive changes to his body and brain. But whatever modifications he had, he required regular service, tuning, adjustments (2:13). Since he went rogue, he wasn't getting his regular maintenance, or maybe he stopped getting them when he was deployed and that's what caused him to go rogue. Chicken and the Genobee. But that lack of maintenance would explain why he flies like a doofus during the fights you have against him - in my experience, he flies at mid range, almost exclusively firing his back cannons. No fancy footwork, and I don't thiiink he really ever overboosted, but I haven't played Nexus in a few years so I might be wrong about that. Anyhow, his philosophizing in the middle of a battle could be that he's becoming delirious from his body breaking down. Body breakdown would suggest that he dies shortly after the battle, even if he wins. That'd explain why he was never heard from again, even though he's - the LEADer of the mutinEERS against CREST. He got really hot and started hemorrhaging as his body rejected the implants. He held a pill bottle in his hand and took one last vain look inside JUST IN CASE he still had one more pill. But he knew he wouldn't find any in there. He drops the bottle as his face becomes flush. He knows he's this is the end. He starts hyperventilating, then convulsing, and within a few minutes he dies in his cockpit. The last of his allies have died or fled, so there's no one to bury him and no one to mourn him. Some notes about his performance - he does that little spin at 0:48 when finishing off the Mirage MT. I've dismissed it as cutscene magic, but thinking about it, that type of spectacle is reserved for intro cinematics. I can't think of any other instance in the series where an AC performed a maneuver that the player was physically unable to do. What if we take that move seriously? That'd mean Genobee is WICKED! He can perform a full turn in about 3/4 of a second and he can control his booster output to continue in a straight line on the ground. For the player to do this, you'd need to boost forward, jump (boost hop), turn around in mid air, and start boosting backwards as you landed. To emphasize: we witness Genobee pull off moves that nobody else has done, and our interface physically cannot do. If he was at peak performance, his turning ability alone means if he can close the distance, he can stay at most opponents' side or rear indefinitely and blade them until they're dead. He would have been harder to fight than Daemon in Last Raven's Arena, and only the Japanese would be able to beat him without finding some glitch to exploit. Going back to 'why' though. What if Genobee was behind the takeover of Bayload City and the betrayal of Navis, and Crest HQ wasn't involved? That'd make more sense than Crest joining a war, betraying their ally, losing a bunch of their most valuable assets, and essentially handing world domination, on a silver platter, to Mirage, their biggest rival. But it still shifts the problem from Crest to Genobee. It doesn't resolve it. What'd Crest gain by sacking Bayload City? What'd Genobee gain? The civilians all left, so there's no labor force. The city's non-functional. Maybe they'd get one. gigantic. bunker out of it? But that still sounds stupid. Why did Genobee even care about Bayload City? It could be in line with the central theme of the game - wasting lives and resources to ultimately accomplish nothing, but that feels like a cheap copout. Maybe someone else will have an answer?
I think Royal Mist would be an interesting character to examine. He rarely does any missions....and the two he shows up on are Union Missions? Coincidence?
Feel the high-caliber stings of this Genobee! I think the design philosophy behind his looks and function was callback to very first Armored Core, where in the intro movie we can see Genobee-esque AC fighting. Although no Human Plus/OP-Intensify on said AC since it kneels to fire off his Grenade Launcher. Veterans who grew up with the series could feel the sense of incoming serious challenge when faced with the classic design on cyber steroids. As for myself being introduced to AC series by Nexus I got my leg part posterior handed to me during that "just an AC test mission". Fortunately it served as a learning experience, and I decided it was high time to ditch basic boosters and radiators in favor of Gull and Ananda so I can actually dodge those troublesome attacks of Genobee. And speaking of Ananda, I'm excited for next episode featuring ethically flexible yellow boys. :]
Leos Klein and Ares from AC2 also use back cannons (Ares uses a laser cannon); the motif is common among #1 rankers in the arena as well, up until gen 4. Ace (3) and Mobius (Silent Line) use back grenade launchers. Last Raven's Lucifer would be a notable exception. Of course, Hustler One used back grenades in the original AC, who could forget that?

Where they not able to make strong worthwhile foes for us without resorting to such a thing? Don't get me wrong, I crushed Genobee all the same but instead of it feeling like a battle against a strong opponent, it felt like beating a cheater...
I can understand this as I felt this way in last raven. I'm very much a person who like games to have set rules and all players and ai have to follow them. Lore wise however I think the idea was to push the narrative that player ravens are dominants, that the natural skill of player raven means they do not need human plus/opi to be the best.
@Armoredcorelore oh I love the concept of being a Dominant, especially for those of us who can live up to the moniker but I found it disheartening when Evangel who was supposed to be a newcomer also exhibited those abilities. I felt it lacked consistency. A stronger appreciation would be garnered if nods to human plus were mentioned in the bios of certain Ravens. Anyway, I'll look forward to you doing a video on Dominants someday.
Y'know his machine would be cool, it it was in gen 4, but due to the nature of how weapon switching works in old gen, the second grenade launcher is completely useless unless if genobee has that bad of a aim he needs to resort to using two grenade launcher as back up ammo or to bypass the cannons cool down. Also weird that he isn't using a powerful energy rifle like the kawasara in his tool kit since, y'know, he has human plus which could bypass the limitations of that weapon.
It is quite the design, honestly i think some armored core are more look at how cool it looks rather then how practical they are in battle. But you make some good points and well the reason he might not use it is the kawasara is not a crest part.
@@armoredcorelore For some reason the karasawa not being a Crest product thing didn't pop up in head, but my point still stands. But what I find most interesting is that it's Crest that's trying to make their own human plus soldier at this time. You'll think it'd be kisaragi who would want to make their own human plus soldier since they were the ones who reportedly created OP-intesify and are notorious for their experiments.
@@folknerdragon4113 You know its a good question however I don't think we'll get an official answer. However we can take a few guess, one may have been limited funds since Kisaragi always tended to lack behind in both profit and power to it two rivals. Another is perhaps kisaragi was more interested in history rather then war after all they did very little power grabbing in nexus and the areas they did try to grab had some historical interest.

Disney would probably sue if they released it to the English speaking world named that. They changed the name of Battledroids to Battletech back in that day because George complained it sounded too much like droids even though it was only a board game back then.
You called the Radiator "GR". But on a side note that other Raven is Mollycoddle who Zinaida is after, apparently Zinaida is Agraya who wants to honor Genobee and hates seeing people stealing his craft. Apparently Genobee was supposed to be called "Zinovie" as it is similar to the name Zinaida.
My mistake after saying CR some many times i think i just wanted to say something else. And well i did have a chat with others about Genobee and his name and a bit about Agraya its was fun.
did you see the new trailer? ^_^ the Voice said "augmented human". So is Human Plus enhancement and lore gonna return? I wonder, if it will affect gameplay or UI like in AC1.
I have and it very possible with the mention of cerebral control device, we seem to be playing with the mind again with armored core. Then again looking at the action it does seem to have quite the fast pace that nexts had so possible a new type of human plus or AMS.
So From Software renamed Human plus to Augmented human is doe's it make sense also i heard on Japanese dub that same name "kyouka ningen" which translates enhanced human
Its a good suggestion, but i think i just felt it was right to talk about duel face as a raven without opi as well you can't really get it in the game and you'll have to find out at the end of the next video =)
I'm very happy as an Armored Core Fan with what we got to see.
Sad man with big guns time 😂
He just wants a hug ha ha.
@@armoredcorelore Hey now, the relics of the past won't bring anyone happiness, we know how long it's been since anyone in this universe has had a hug outside of a pile hug in gen 5.
@@CoffeePotato Oh Gen 5 granting all the hugs and keeping up the trend of killing the father of a main character.
I love these videos, you are very indepth and you have a pleasant voice.
Thank you for the kind words.
It's a bit unpopular but AC nexus is my favourite as it introduced me to the series.
I hope to see more content on it
I have Nexus too but I started with 3. Nexus is really cool especially the second disc!
@@trevinsingh9390 i see you are also a man of culture. But I agree man, I honestly hope the new one might have some likeness to the older games
@@claytondewberry1816I've played Nexus to death after "obtaining" OP-INTENSIFY. I absolutely love the weapon variety. The fact that the cheat will save to your memory card is a nice bonus.
Ah if you like a game, why be bothered about what others think AC or otherwise. As for content there will be some for a bit as i need some breathing room while i work on LR.
New armored core 6 trailer this week
I had to sure to see if that was true. I better see gameplay and I hope to be impressed.
So the rumours say, we'll have to wait and see.
Genobee came across to me as a try hard with his grenade launcher load out xD. There was literally no skill in it, just OP-I. I gave him zero respect.
Ha ha.
Nice work on Genobe Man
Cheers Blagoj
What if there is an AC called Kenobi? How would you people react?
Disney would probably sue if they released it to the English speaking world named that. They changed the name of Battledroids to Battletech back in that day because George complained it sounded too much like droids even though it was only a board game back then.
Hello there
You called the Radiator "GR".
the Voice said "augmented human".
@@sadone4658 it is possible it’s going to be like the pilot regeneration function from Titanfall
Wait I remenber this AC appearing in ACLR
You do but different raven piloting it.
@@armoredcorelore I thougth you would have mentioned at least
@@01trixor I think i did around 5:08, just not by name.
@@armoredcoreloreoh yeah I noticed, small mention
Finally!!
My favorite bedtime stories
Have a good night.
Good work man!
Thank you!
Have any other channels? I’d love to hear your reaction to the latest Armored Core news!
Not one's like this i have an old gaming channel and a channel where i dump random ac clips.
For Dual Face OPI need Maybe try it with last raven with opi cheat to have a feel.
Also after kisaragi who is next ? Jack-O, Zinaida or Evangel ?
Its a good suggestion, but i think i just felt it was right to talk about duel face as a raven without opi as well you can't really get it in the game and you'll have to find out at the end of the next video =)
Or you can get h+ for AC NX
What are thoughts on the new trailer?
I'm very happy as an Armored Core Fan with what we got to see. I like many others are happy to see a mixture of designs from all the gens and from the looks of the gameplay to me it looks to be the more fast pace action of later generations. Its looks to be a fun game and all i can hope is there is lots of lore to dig into.
Ok so can anyone tell me were to start with all this lore, lol, gearing up for 6. cheers!
Well I can direct you to my playlists of the story/plot of each games, th-cam.com/play/PLH4v3mlv5QUZgI27xbvN9a72UYjIiJ0jW.html I think knowing the plots of the game gives a good base of the lore to work with as after you can pick and mix about subjects you hear in the videos to further look into. And if you want more of an overview of the series, I would suggest this series done by above average gaming th-cam.com/video/y0m2mn5XFuw/w-d-xo.html
Hope these help and see you in AC6.
@@armoredcorelore thank you dude! You can bet I'll be watching all your vids the next few days lol. You seem to be the only solid AC lore youtuber I could find. I can only imagine how hyped you are for 6.
@@WhatNeverMind No problem and oh i have had to put the armored core fan inside me in a box so i can concentrate on the videos. But you know I'll be off YT for a few weeks when i get it.
The CR!
Yes already noted thanks.
OOHHHH BILLY!!! I audibly moaned at the notification. I've been WAITING FOR THIS.
Ha ha well glad to hear it. I admit poor genobee here has been a filler while i work on LR.
