It baffles me how this man can stay so damn Humble ! its not easy being a genius and the master of a dieing art while maintaining legendary status and be so giving of his time and knowledge he shoud go down in history ! We could pitch in and support this man ! he has wife and child to support people! and nothing in life is free !

Great information. Not specific to my needs owning a W 108, but certainly nice to know if I someday pick up a newer model. The lesson for me here is that I would be the guy that would misdiagnose the symptoms and replace EVERY PART without knowing the cause of the ailment. This is where Pierre excels!! He is the “Mercedes Benz Whisperer” I will be with you in Florida in a few days and I hope that we can share some “under the hood” time so I can learn how to best care for my car!!

I was never aware that the OVP had any function on my 1985 300CD air conditioning system. I thought all it did was regulate voltage to the EGR computer.
sooo early 1981 380SL idle speed is controled by Idle control valve and not the OVP relay? or is early 81 also controlled OVP? Thanks Pierre my idle is like 1500rpm!!
I have a 1986 560SL which some times the idle is up to like 1000-1200 it starts right away cold and hot no problem , I changed the potentiometer it could be a bit of adjustment on their position ? also I feel is a bit rich , when the car gets to operating temperature the O2 light goes on ,changed the O2 sensor and still the same, would appreciate some advice

It failed on my '95 124 300D, no tacho and abs light on. I repaired it by routing out cables out of OVC relay and installing bog standard relays and taping it all together lol it looks iraqui IED but works lol
Hi, I have an 83 380SL that whenever the 10Amp OVP is plugged in, the engine cuts out and does not start. I have to take it off and then the car starts but runs rough and lacks power. What can I do to fix this issue? Thank you

Always carry a ovp with you . I get them at the junk yard
