JODHPUR, ‘Blue City’, named after its founder Rao Jodha, a 15th-century chief of the Rathore clan. Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhavan Palace and Mandore Gardens are some of the sights to visit.
JAISALMER "Golden City" is situated close to the Pakistan Border in the heart of the Thar Desert. The city is dominated by Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Qila (Golden Fort) built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156. The Fort is distinguished by its yellow sandstone architecture and so are many buildings in the city. Places to visit include Gadi Sagar Lake, Patwon ki Haveli, Tazia Tower, a unique 5-story building located in the heart of Jaisalmer.
UDAIPUR sights include the City Palace, Monsoon Palace, Lake Pichola and its Ghats, Saheliyon-ki-Bari was built for maids who accompanied the Princess to Udaipur (part of the dowry). Bagore Ki Haveli Museum, Maharana Pratap Samarak. Dharohar dance show at Bagore Ki Haveli, Jagdish Temple Street located in the heart of the city near City Palace. Kumbhalgarh Fort is 64 kms from Udaipur was built by Rana Kumbha during the 15th century. Lake Pichola is a 4kms long man-made lake. Shilpgram, a Craftsmen’s Village 3kms from the is a wonderful place to see different traditions and culture of India showcasing rural life of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa.
