Super guide my friend. The entire process was done in less than 1 hour - incl understanding the instructions, downloads and setup. Thank you so much for sharing such great documentation / guide
Your step by step guide is fantastic and crystal clear. Also i think this Raspbian with Spotify connect method is much BETTER than Volumio. Keep up the good job!!! Also, for the 09:25 where you are setting the default audio output, I tried using the number but the number always changes (especially if i plug in something to the usb port, eg: keyboard/mouse). So instead of putting number, i choose to put the card's name, I can find my card name using "aplay -L". Then I put it as: defaults.ctl.card AUDIO / defaults.pcm.card AUDIO
Thank you for the guide. What do I need to change to output to ALSA loopback? Also the output needs to be 44.1 kHz (this to pass the audio on to CamillaDSP). Thanks again!
Excellent video, I'm just beginning with Raspberry Pi and downloaded Volumio but the access to my Synology is a problem and there is also the need to register just to try it. I was ready to put an old laptop with Windows in place of the Raspberry Pi I'm from social sciences but used Linux on a daily basis (mainly in graphical desktop) for 12 years so I hope it won't be so difficult.
Worked like a charm for a few months but now it seems to have a problem. Is there a way to update it or do I need to reinstall the entire thing? Thanks
First, I would like to congratulate you for the simple and direct video. Second, I would like to know if it works on other SBC's? For example Orange Pi or Banana Pi...
Thanks for the tutorial. Great wqy to explain everything. My reason to try it would be gapless playback. Does that work? I use that on Smartphone and Laptop, but my Denon AVR can't. So I would connect the raspberry pi with HDMI to the Denon (X6700H). Are you able to test ifnthat feature is a ailable with this solution? Fading songs into each other would be great. As also playing locally stored audio files. Thanks for you feedback. Even that the video is 1 year old.
I was not able to ssh using pi and default password. Apparently you can't do it anymore and have to create a user and encrypted password in a file in boot - at least it's what official docs recommend if you are using os lite headless. After this I managed to ssh to my user.. I even tried change the password of the account "pi" but it told me it doesn't exist.

Worked like a charm! Excellent content, thank you! All through terminal and no X service required. Precisely what I was looking for.

Thank you for the video. Can you load this to the sd card as well as the upnp streaming software you used in your previous video?
You're welcome. Yes, you can indeed.
Is this working with Raspberry pi Zero?
can you control music streaming apps (spotify, soundcloud, exe) via raspberry pi on your computer?
is there a gui (for easier navigation)?
is this with premium only working?
yes, spotify restricts spotify connect feature to premium accounts only

How to play Spotify on Moode bro?
Can this run on top of raspberry pi os?
yes
Well it seems so easy, but I struggle to pair my bluetooth-speaker with bluetoothctl....
Default uset and password is no longer supported. You have to make your own user and pw
A grate shame Rpi is out of stock everywhere :(
