Bose 802 Common Failure and Repair

  • A fairly common failure of a Bose 802 is where the braid from the speaker cone attaches to the terminal lug. Eventually, it develops a hair-line crack. Even though it is attached, the hair line crack acts just like a break. Fix it with a bit of solder.

    what cable is that?copper?aluminium or something?orplated?

      +stupid person They are tinsel wires. Common tinsel wire is phosphor-bronze alloy, beryllium-copper alloy or a silver alloy. It is very fine, strong and flexible. Which allows it to survive the frequencies of the speaker. Very fine copper would work harden and break. Take care to make sure the solder does not wick into the braid when repairing.

      +DeepBlueHarp it seems was very good cable,so normally i don't have to upgrade it as because i think better cable would have better sound.
