My girl loves fresh peeled peaches,small pieces of pineapple.My old G. shep.loved fresh plums,and fresh grapefruit. I try them on all good fruits and vegetables to see what they like.My DOBIE loved beets,pickled or reg.
Once we ate steak at my aunts house and her daughter is vegan. It was a nice day so we ate outside on floor cushions. My cousin, sara, was eating apples and peaches instead. Her and I got up to get the drinks and both our plates were on the ground. I had a full steak but my dog ate the apples instead and ate the salad off my plate and not the steak. Lol

Hi savage 2.o, it depends on the dog. In general, apples and bananas are wonderful treats for dogs. However, if your dog has allergies or certain medical conditions (such as diabetes) which prohibit dogs from eating certain fruits, then your vet would know best. If your vet gives the go ahead, introduce food slowly to your dog. And of course, keep the core, stem, and seeds and the skin of bananas away from your dog!

Yes! Another vote for apples! If your dogs don't have allergies, I wonder if apples and peanut butter would be a nice (occasional) treat. My Pomeranian loved the combo!

My dogs love all fruits that are good for them but bananas, apples and watermelon are their favorite. Good video but my rescues range in size from 4.5 to 75 pounds so serving suggestion size is for what an average size dog, what size would that be?

Hi Jayne! This made me laugh! My dogs were very sneaky! They would see us distracted and start licking the fruit in our hands. Peaches, apples, nothing was safe from them! We had to be very careful with cherries and fruits they could not have.
My dog's will eat anything, they'll eat popcorn, carrots and they love ice cream, but they'll eat things that most dogs won't eat, I don't think there's anything they won't eat, but I have been feeding them a lot of table food, which I need to stop doing, but they circle me whenever I eat, and I've gotten into a bad habit of giving in when I shouldn't. lol. But I do give them banana slices once in awhile, which they like. Do you know what else they like to eat, I don't know why, but they love to eat raw spaghetti noodles, maybe because they are crunchy, I'm not sure, but they love it. They also love grapes, but I rarely give them one once in a blue moon, because I know they aren't good for them in large amounts, so I'll only give them one once in a great while, which the Vet said won't hurt them if they only eat one or two once in awhile. Chocolate is something I do not feed them, which dark chocolates are the worst and is toxic, so that's a no-no.
Hi Roy! As long as your vet gives the okay on food I think you'll be fine. There are many healthy fruits and veggies that are great for our dogs, but since each dog has their own preferences you'll have to do some experimentation (and watch out for any food allergies!). Browno! I have too many nicknames for my dogs, but on occasion I call them by their real names, Honey and Sunny! They also like the apple. Well, Sunny only likes food when he sees Honey eating them.

Hi irma! Mandarin oranges? Please be careful of seeds and the skin. Also citrus fruit trees are quite toxic to dogs, so please keep your furbaby away from the stems and leaves. Can you freeze the fruit left over where you can't give them much I'd hate to see the fruit go bad. So I was wondering if freezing is ok?
I'm not an expert on all fruits, but in general, it seems that many articles are in favor of it. Frozen fruits can be made into smoothies later. my 2 smooth coat chi's eat strawberries, apples, cantelope and watermelon. my long coat chi loves mandarin oranges, (not navel oranges or tangerines tho). he also loves strawberries, apples, watermelon and cantelope. (but all 3 of them hate bananas, not one will eat them (unless they are pureed and added to the raw food I make them)). but my long coat hates peas, he will spit them out every time. if I try to puree peas and add to his raw food diet, he refuses to eat the food, if he even smells peas, he wont go near it.

Hi Cathy Campbell! For citrus fruits, I'm a little more careful. My dogs are fine with a slice of orange (no skin or seeds). Since they are small pooches, too much could give them upset tummies. That's cool, but please be careful! The leaves and stem are toxic. And oranges are acidic. Too much may upset his tummy. Otherwise, a little bit of the fruit makes a wonderful treat!

Hmm, a little bit of orange is fine, but too much may upset his stomach. As for the strawberries, it's wonderful that your furpal likes them! The serving sizes mentioned in the video are only suggestions. Dogs are unique and different and so is their individual health history. As always, please check with your vet on the suitable serving size for your friend. SlimezPanda to be honest, I don't know what the treatment(s) are for grape toxicity or the cost. Please see this article on symptoms, (www.petmd.com/dog/emergency/digestive/e_dg_grape_raisin_toxicity) but if your dog has eaten any grapes, I do think you should take your dog to your vet ASAP. I am not a vet and I cannot give medical advice.

Aw! I once had a dog who ate 6 chocolate truffles along with the 6 little boxes that they came in. She lived many happy years after that. So, talk to your vet at your dog's annual check up and don't feed grapes but don't panic. If your doggo develops unusual symptoms see a vet immediately.

Hello TAYLORNAT3, hmm, I would highly recommend checking with your veterinarian. Grapes are toxic to some dogs. Some dogs seem fine, but the toxicity builds up and that could eventually lead to issues such as kidney failure.
