Discworld as a book series is perhaps the most richly written and creative fantasy series out there, it just happens to also be very silly and satirical so people don't expect the one two punch of it actually being pretty smart at times. It's like having the fun uncle tell you a story and you only realize after the story's over that it actually had some profundity and insight to it despite it having a baudy limerick or two.
It's also incredibly samey in it's tone and jokes. I've read two books and liked them, and the third was exactly the same so i put it down. Way too repetitious for my liking. Pretty much the same reason i cant be bothered with HHGG2+, althought Dirk Gently i find is a particularly good book.

Me too, except it was the first one, we'd keep coming back to it, maybe make a tiny bit of progress and then shelve it for a while until we eventually gave up and got a guide. we got a fair way through it on our own over what feels like several years
Pratchett's wordplay was unmatched and to this day it hasn't been topped and probably never will. Both games were great and even Noir was decent. Also, I'd very much like for someone to craft an open world game with the main hub being the great Ankh-Morpork. Or a game even set solely in the city would be nice where you as a rookie Watchman would get thrown into the crucible of the city and will need all your wits to get out alive on the other end. Ah, good old Discworld
this game was... so amazing iv been playing it and honestly its just PEAK
The music just sent a shiver of nostalgia down my spine
I bought it when it came out and loved it. love pratchetts books in general.
Played , loved it ....... oh my god on hindsight.... I sure did not noticed half the jokes as a kid 😂😂😂 thanks for this
the david attenborough bit is a direct rip of the guide in hitchhikers guide taken from the bbc tv show in 81
These games were totally amazing - my PC at the time didn't quite have enough RAM, so I had to memmaker to just about get this running. Takes me back :)
20:42 I swear this voice actor is the guy who voices the old man from Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids?? 😩🤣 that laugh is burned in my brain
its definitly one of a kind, a shame really, one thing i loved about death in these series is that his that mate that follows you around in life till your last breathe and in the end will stick by you to the end
As a Discworld fan I 've played "Discworld", this and even "Discworld Noir". Beware the Elver Sign! Classic stuff.
In opposite, books are one of the most humorous things around about Discworld - all three adventure games were very, very weak.
I seem to recall the "Millennium hand and shrimp" bit being something a fan dared him to somehow work into dialogue or something? Was it a contest?
This game is amazing, i loved it so much when i was younger and along with broken sword, it's up there in point and click royalty for me
I do enjoy the amount of jokes you added in.
How did I miss this and where can I get a copy!?!?! I love the books and TV versions, but this looks amazing.
Excellent video!
I still dont know when it is Mitch and when the games is speaking.
Hey Mitch, ever hear of the Deponia series by German indie studio Daedalic Entertainment? If you like comedy point & click adventures then you might like Deponia.
I remember watching my brother play this game when i was but a child. Absolute gem!
me and my brother bonded just trying to figure out some of the moon logic in this game. it holds a place in my heart just for that
Aww that's lovely 😊
Me too, except it was the first one, we'd keep coming back to it, maybe make a tiny bit of progress and then shelve it for a while until we eventually gave up and got a guide. we got a fair way through it on our own over what feels like several years
Had the PC version of this back when it first came out and it came with a CD single of "That's Death" :D
I can see you had A LOT of fun making this one.
This game seems like a true masterpiece of art in multiple ways
Pratchett's wordplay was unmatched and to this day it hasn't been topped and probably never will. Both games were great and even Noir was decent. Also, I'd very much like for someone to craft an open world game with the main hub being the great Ankh-Morpork. Or a game even set solely in the city would be nice where you as a rookie Watchman would get thrown into the crucible of the city and will need all your wits to get out alive on the other end. I realize this would be pretty much impossible with pterry's passing and any surrogate work would surely be only tarnishing the legacy but still.
It’s a shame the Discworld games haven’t shown up on GOG yet.
Oh god this brings me back to my teen years when I played this gem of a game
All I know about discword is what my friend has told me about it, since he's going through the books. You know I sent him this right away
This was awesome. Didn't skip a single second. :D
Oh my god! This is it! For years, I had a vague memory of this game from my childhood. How did I ever get my hands on a Discworld game as a child?
A Ps1 Demo Disc.
