We revisit the Oakridge Park site to check out the progress. It's come a long way since last year, but there's still a lot more to come. music: Skeler - Everything is Right (ft Devilish Trio)
I love the unique design of this complex, particularly that ominous (yet cool) curved central tower that you can see from Downtown as well as from as far away as Richmond.
Quintessentially Vancouver. Hyper density in a new tower development surrounded by a sea of detached houses a block away. Middle density can't replace this archaic zoning soon enough.
Are you on crack or something? Where are the windows? The site looks the same as a year ago. No windows no commissioning, no occupancy. Less than a year away from that day. You call that good progress? Jokeridge is in a bad place.
@@markuserikssen Along the main arterial road (Cambie St) it's already well underway. As for the surrounding neighbourhoods, yes. The housing crisis in Vancouver has made municipal and province politicians start to think long and hard about the usefulness of single family homes that sit on lots worth $3.5 - $4 million dollars. I suspect we'll see more and more inner city neighbourhoods get rezoned.

It's close to SkyTrain. Most of the zoning restrictions have been lifted within a radius. The surrounding area will soon densify
Great video!
Love that the Crate and Barrel building said F it, we aren't selling, build around us😂👍🍻
here for Skeler
Incredible footage @1:12, this city is really changing dramatically
Not for the better

10 years still going at it 😂
Only place to go is up!
Looks pretty cool. How was this mega project next to lowrise detached houses ever approved?
A subway line runs underneath it, so the entire area was rezoned. Most of those detached houses surrounding the project will be gone within 10 years.
@@SeaToSkyImages Wow, impressive! Will the area between this and the downtown area be densified?

You’re clearly unobservant / blind - there have been apartment buildings surrounding Oakridge since 1963.
@@SeaToSkyImagesyeah for like one month they just want more
did theyresume after accident?
Dystopia creeps in, slowly, like a cancer, it spreads and destroys everything.
Cool
what are they building?
They are building a massive mixed use project (condos, offices and a mall). The area was a mall from the 1960s before the construction started.
@@SeaToSkyImages very interesting! i bet housing will more when this is complete
More homes for the Chinese
Investment boxes
@stinkfinger630 yep investments from people who don't even live here .
