Last year I had a bird that didn't leave the truck on the liberation and wasn't discovered until the following Friday evening (7 days ) during basketing. He was alive ! Bad news here, my last Polish Rocket YB was just taking by a hawk yesterday. I tried to get the team out for a short fly and paid the price. Fantastic job with your loft and birds. In the short time ive known you- you sure are getting great results.

Glad they were still alive James. I just got one delivered today that stayed in the mail for 5 days. She lost some weight and was very thirsty when i got her. That situation sounds like a nightmare. I hope no one else experiences it.
@ Agreed, had it been summer it maybe a different ending. Glad that our birds are safe now though. The bird i just got is an inbred Gr Gdtr of Florian of Joe Namelka. Sire side is Van Dyck Dirk/Namelka and the Dam side is WYD/Bulldoser X Namelka. She was raced in the Rip Van Winkle futurity and finished 14th in the final. Hoping to replicate Joe’s system and maybe get lucky and breed my own version of Florian hehehe

Glad the birds are all fine. I noticed a lot of bar codes on the box from past shipments… can’t help but wonder if that contributed to the routing issues.
YW and congrats, your birds did good.. We lost our best two performers on that stupid release into the wires from Cottonwood. Still bothered by that one. Hopefully a lesson was learned from it. It was very strange that the birds shipped out of Oakland to Newark of all places for some reason and then were shipped back to Oakland and then back to MD.. Weirdest thing I've ever seen happen..

@@stevenspainhower5493 it was a gut punch for sure. It happens. No, the Martinez Classic is a full-fledged OLR whereas Tom Brasher collected and flew birds from 24 fanciers in a club YB series. He plans to start his own OLR though. He also entered one of the 2024 birds I bred in the Martinez OLR. Kinda confusing 😆 I don’t plan on selling 217 but I might let 216 go.

Help! Last Sunday i released my pigeons out of my coop and when i came back outside couple of my bird didnt comeback home. Come to find out 3 doors down I have a neighbor that has a pond and pet ducks. I was wondering if pigeons get along with ducks maybe I could go over there and ask them if they seen any pigeon on their backyard with the ducks?
Oh darn! Sorry to hear that! Were these young pigeons that you bred or were these older birds that you were trying to settle? It couldn't hurt to ask around. Pigeons aren't known to hang out with waterfowl but can't hurt to look. Good luck!!

@shifter5150.. The birds are shipped "Priority Express" which is guaranteed to be delivered by the third day. Most of them make the trip overnight and arrive the next day or at least on the second day.. Sometimes it's 3 but that's not the norm..
