this is so unbelievably creative. octo expansion imo is the darkest story in splatoon. i never thought analog horor would be the primo outlet to explore how ungodly terrifying the beats that play out are my favorite moments is the whole conscience of the blended victims all together and still alive talking to the files, screaming in glorious agony. and the blending experiment with 9998 is just PEAK horror god could you imagine what Marina, Pearl, 3 and Cuttlefish was feeling when witnessing all that unfolds in kamabo. this is some GOOD shit, im eating good today!!
THIS WAS GENUINELY TERRIFYING. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A VIDEO ESSAY WHEN I CLICKED. I WAS SO UNPREPARED. Regardless, this is SO unique and creative! Splatoon's world is so versatile, it's amazing to see what people can do with it. I'm still like super shaken up, good job. I'm curious why the investigator says the Octarians were abducting the victims (10:02), especially when Octarians are implied to be victims (6:44)? Is that the investigator’s own inkling bias? Or is the lore of your story that the Octarian Army had some secret deal with Kamabo Co? I think part of what makes Kamabo Co. particularly vile is that they prey upon the Octarian desire to see the surface. The Octarians are already an exploited and oppressed group. The resilience of the Octarian soldier combined with their desperation to live a carefree life on the surface makes them a perfect target for the experiment, hence why all the sanitized soldiers are Octarian. Is your story implying that the Octarian Army was sending defect soldiers to Kamabo Co? That would be so disgusting. (But good creative use of the lore) Another note, inklings actually eat calamari! The rings you jump through in hero mode are calamari, and Marie describes them as "morbidly delicious". There's also an interview with Hisashi Nogami where he states inklings eat squid. Kinda makes that the "remains smell like calamari" a bit more messed up... I wonder if the other subjects smell it and get hungry, thinking it's food, not knowing it's their future. Anyways, good work! This video is valuable contribution to the Splatoon community. I have a feeling it'll spark a new wave of anolog horror-esque fanon. Splatoon has a lot of untapped potential for this
To answer your question, the octarians are being blended up, but because Tartar is a psychopath he ordered some octarians to abduct inklings for experimentation. Which is why the investigator went down to the metro in the first place, only to discover horrors he never expected.
Jesus, this video is actually disturbing for a kids game. This really emphasizes how dark the Splatoon world is. Great work and I hope you make a second part to this.
Wow, if I had a nickel for every youtuber that has a history with making music relating to video games that has also made a splatoon-themed analog horror video, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
this is incredible. I always wanted to do something like this, basically the grizzco files but with the Deepsea metro. Horrifying too. Honestly, from the very limited game franchise/tv/movie lore series I have heard about, this is the most dark. You can rant on all you want about fnaf, and i may be slightly biased as a lore geek in general, but honestly I cant think of anything that would top this. As many have pointed out, Splatoon is like one of those images where the longer you look the worse it gets but in game form. As opposed to again, fnaf, which is not afraid to hide how gory and scary it is. I feel like this really encapsulates what Splatoon lore is all about, whether intentional or not. A simple and unassuming mystery turns into something that would give you ptsd. The Deepsea metro has always been the poster child for this, and while again this is still incredible and brilliant, I think the Splatoon analog horror community could use some humans-all-dying and mr grizz doing basically the exact same thing as tartar.has anyone ever notice that, how tartar gets all the credit? my theory is because tartar actually gave a number and they you know...bring it up. Im getting off track. This honest to god deserves a spot in a hall of fame right next to the grizzco files. You deserve an award. However, the best i can give you is a subscribe and a like.(you seriously deserve more credit for this)
Fnaf is one of all time favorite franchises but it’s analog horror scene has been done to death lol. I absolutely love how dark splatoon games can get and because of the colorful and cartoony art style you never expect it. Thank you so much for your support, I might end up making a part 2 depending on how well this does 😁
you know...i could try and recreate this in book form. I have written a short fanfiction before, when i was like 9,so i think i can do this justice. But, i f you dont like my recreation just know tha it was made by a 12 year old :p
ohh the storytelling in this is so so good, i could definitely see this happening in universe w the splatoon lore. analog horror and splatoon is a combination i never thought to see of, and this pleasantly surprsied me! well done :D
I've never played Splatoon, but this was very well put together! I think I got the gist of everything, without knowing anything else about Splatoon lore. Great video and concept
It's scarier when you know that the "thing" you make at the end of Octo Expansion is a giant blender, as well as the fact that Captain Tar Tar was supposed to pass down mankind's knowledge to the new dominate species, but choose to eradicate both the octolings and inklings because of their behaviour
Yeh the Octo Expansion DLC's Lore is really messed up from 8 being tricked into getting into a blender to seeing Sanitized Octolings and Octarians basically being mind controlled by Commander Tarter its really freaking creepy :O
A program called wondershare filmora. Although if you wanted to make something like this do some research and find something else this one isn’t very good 😭
nintendo: oh lookie here a talking telephone nicked octarians into his EEEEEEVIL lair!!
sploon fanbase: this some serious gourmet analog shit
The concept is horrifying

Nobody ever talks about how messed up Splatoon lore is 😨 I’m gonna be thinking about this for a while
I know right!?!?
Game Theory should've done this too tbh, like they got the FNAF lore down now. It's time something fishy was to go down
THIS IS AMAZING! Seeing people actually talk about how dark the splatoon lore can be is so cool to see, please make a part two!
THIS WAS GENUINELY TERRIFYING. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A VIDEO ESSAY WHEN I CLICKED. I WAS SO UNPREPARED.

Yeah normal squid didn't stop existing in the Splatoon universe. Not all of them evolved.

Thinking about it ;p

You talking bout jerm? 🤣
@@timelockedtunes yep lol
The Grizzco Tapes are amazing and were definitely an inspiration but hopefully my concepts differ enough that they won’t be seen as copying :)
@@timelockedtunes Don't worry, you're doing a pretty good job so far.

I wasn’t expecting that level of analog horror
Alright so you’re telling me that these poor suckers ARE being grinding into some sushi? That’s actually unsettling
watching this at 12 am was NOT a good idea
V creative. Really taking a unique step into splatoon content here. Love splatoon so this is such a cool take to see

Very well made, I really love the creativity behind this
Thanks :)

I've been taking a little bit of a break but I'm working on the second video right now! :)
