I purchased your sheet music and backing track several years ago. However, my skills are at a standstill. I'm glad I learned how to practice thanks to you. I wish I had looked for this video earlier. Thank you for the detailed lesson.
this is just what i needed to find, after learning how to play your version for almost the last year and a half, im nearly finished. just needed the tapping bits for efficiency and speed. this will complete my hard work. thanks man. i never get tired of playing it. beautiful piece, just got to learn movement two after finished movement three, the easy part :() yeah the hard work has been done, and it was a monster. mv 1.2+3
Sai di vivere in tempi meravigliosi quando un gigante della chitarra elettrica decide di condividere la sua esperienza con gli altri. Hai tutta la mia stima 🙌🏻
I am from Japan. So sorry for my poor English. I always watch you on U Tube. I am your guitar fan. I began to play the guitar recently. So I am a beginner. Now I am practicing to play ''The best of times".Why I am practicing so difficult guitar solo because I saw you playing the guitar on U Tube and I thought you're absolutely cool. I was playing the classical guitar before I begin to play the electric guitar. I think I am going to practice "The moonlight sonata" after I could play ''The best of times" perfectly . Of course I practice to play it on your U Tube because your guitar is perfect. I'm afraid you could understand my poor English.
I can do tapping arpeggios with string skipping and just a few string noise in I would say intermediate speed. So far this was ok for me. Your "Cyborg movement" is quite a good idea that I will try to learn now. Thank you for the lesson!
Grazie Michele, è sempre un estremo piacere guardare i tuoi video. Anche se sei stato causa di una mascella caduta la prima volta che ho visto il video di Moonlight Sonata appena uscito 😂
Great. Please explain next how to move the picking hand while picking. It’s really interesting. How to support the weight of the guitar while sitting? When I tap the guitar slips from me.
If your shredding like this, position your guitar on your left leg instead of right. You can tap and shred with more efficient movement, and it will rest on your other leg so it won't slip.
dude, I love the fact that you guitar's volume is not too loud (maybe it's even a tad low). I'm so tired of those videos where the guitar is so much louder than the dialogue and I have to constantly change the volume.
Well it was 10 years ago, so I had a normal job in music schools etc, so it took s couple of months. Today I would stay focused all day, long study sessions, and I believe that in 7-10 days I would be able to perform it live in a decent manner.
@@DRVIOSSY, that’s still impressive either way. Ive been playing give it take close to 15 years but the last few years it was more off and on, not full blown dedication like when I first began, but last July I started immersing myself fully into it again and even with an average of 3-4 hours of practice during weekdays and sometimes up to 8 or more on weekends it’s still challenging to get a lot of things down. Those extremely clean multiple string skipping arpeggios are definitely something that requires more than average effort (Or so I think) from me as well as getting my sweep picking as fast, accurate, clean and fluid as possible like on par with Jason Becker and Jason Richardson, but then again those are extremely high standards. I’m basically relearning the different shapes to how Richardson plays them since he avoids barring for all but one shape which is extremely useful since some arpeggios positions throughout the neck just won’t get clean for the life of me even if the same type of muting and rolling works for others. You have any feedback on this sort of issue? And also you should definitely do a full transcription of Toccata & Fugue in D Minor, Virgil Fox’s rendition which I think does the piece the most justice. I feel you would nail it. Also I’m having difficulty learning the whole thing myself as is haha. But thanks for the response. Cheers brutha!
yeap, best explained but easier said than done for normal ppl...and BASS players, OMG! "ha!, one more thing" ....dr. V. would you play some Pink Floyd piece, your way of course, so that Gilmour and followers (me too) will hear "The Dark Side of the Moon" + The Bright side. Ciao ciao.
First time I listened to/watched Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, I wondered: 1. How did find the tablature/backing track? 2. How many attempts before you perfectly nailed it?
@@GLYDR Uhm...no. If it's a THIRD, then it's a B. Just count...G...A...B...1-2-3. So it's a B. The third of a G chord is always B. Then you can have B or Bb or B#...it's still a B. The G chord is ALWAYS G B D. If it's major it's G B D. If it's minor it's G Bb D. If it's diminished it's G Bb Db. If it's G# minor it's G# B D# If it's G# major it's G# B# D# And so on and so on....! It sounds like a C, it's the same fret, the same note, the same frequency...just not the same name ;-)
Too bad Professor Renaud Louis-Servais does not explain the method he taught Tina S. I just see that they use the medium with their right hand and keep the pick up between their thumb and index.
Your sloppy tapping is cleaner than my "clean" tapping. I gotta practice WAY more but I will not give up!
This shit takes forever dude 😂 I’ve come to the realisation it’s non stop practice and practicing practice
@@Ogiiishred yea same. It’s literally just practice, practice, practice. It’s simple but hard at the same time
your sonata was unbelievable, still gets played daily. this video is an awesome surprise
I was aware of Dr. Viossy and his crazy guitar playing, but only now I just found out how great teacher he actually is! Thank you!

A masterclass in tapping, from the master himself! Awesome!
I'v been waiting for a long time!

Great teacher u r ..

Numero uno. Grazie mille per questa condivisione! 🤘
Spectacular video! Thanks!
E pensare che non sapevo che fossi italiano, assolutamente fiero ed orgoglioso d'avere per compatriota un chitarrista così skilled!
Amazing video, it already helped clear up what I was doing wrong with my muting technique. Thanks a lot
Just thank you
As a Italiaan living in the Netherlands for almost 50 years i am proud to be a Italiaan🇮🇹❤️

Looking forward for more lesson
Man, I really should have posted this song when I learnt it! Such an epic arrangement of an epic piece of music.
thanks brother.

I bought the tabs and backing tracks in the day, hopefully I'll manage to play it someday!!

Thank you 4 the Tip with less Gain!.
LONG TIME NO SEE Dr.V 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

He is just too cool. Can we all just admit it?
Hola desde mexico
do the right cyborg moving ( coooolll )
Thank you Dr. How many years ago did you actually start to work on this song?
13.01 that face. I LIKE IT! 🙄😂

Complaint boxxxx....
After transcribing it, how long did it take you to learn to play it up to speed more or less flawlessly?

I made the arrangement, so I made my own tabs. I've studied it for weeks 🙂
Great lesson but I think it would help to have some close up shots of your fingers from different angles to really see exactly what you're doing.
Fret wraps are great for recording. You're going to use the best take anyway, so you might as well get that take sooner.
This could be a good point!
Yeaaaah! \m/ ;)
nice... can yoi tell me your favourite bands????

This is why you are here
Thank me later ;)
can realize pinky is the weakest when youhave to bar 4 strings with ur pinky, just like playing jerry reed song called struttin'
Thought it was John Petrucci from the thumbnail
B#?
Yes. It'a G# major chord.
@@DRVIOSSY But isn't the major third of that still called a C, rather than a B#?

This was great, thank you. But wow, I simply don't practice enough!
He's not of this earth!
You made it more complicated for you (muting) by using 7 string guitar.
Next to the capo, the fret wrap is the gayest accessory
Does he even play the guitar. All talking. 4 sec. Of guitar playing. At the end at least play the song
