ex1 is super fun. just chill enough to relax and farm but just engaging enough that it continues to be satisfying to clear even after 50 something kills. had a lot of fun bringing different jobs into the fight and dabbling with different roles in higher end content for the first time. i find ex2 a little less satisfying on repeat clears but it’s mechanics are so much more unique and interesting which made it a much more thrilling and exciting first clear for me. both fights are super great and it’s clear that if savage is anywhere near this quality we’re in for a banger tier. looking forward to seeing ur thoughts/experiences on savage sometime soon ! :D
My first ex was barbaricia, which will be really difficult for any other ex to beat in my mind because I like the speed and pure execution focus of it, and when it first came out so many mechanics hit like a truck - it really taught me how to heal the more difficult content of the game. I ended up only partially learning or skipping entirely most of the later endwalker ex trials because I wasn't having enough fun to justify sitting through the more painful learning pfs for hours. Valigarmanda I was shocked to clear in a single pf, seeing enrage on the last pull before the instance closed and killing as soon as we went back in. It's such a fun fight, and really nice to learn because there's really not many mechanics, just enough variations on the same ones per phase and unique phase specific ones to keep it feeling fresh but cohesive.
These are my first ever *synced* pieces of hard content in this game, and they've been an absolute blast. Got super lucky on Valigarmanda and got my WAR weapon, mount, and even orchestrion roll in 6 clears. Mountain Fire is an incredible buster and I hope to see more of it. Also love the persistent DoT after the fire phase. Zoraal Ja on the other hand, I've already 99'd because yoshi p is making me pay for getting Vali stuff super quickly, but it's just as fun and I've really enjoyed optimizing movement during both Triumph and Turmoil. I think i enjoy Vali a bit more because it feels like it has almost no mechanics that can suddenly blow up a pf run like Zoraal Ja does (E4S triangles, tank tethers during Triumph 2), but I've really enjoyed both of them.
Healer perspective: These fights are a blast. I love how in ex1 there are a bunch of times where deploying soil late lets you cover two raidwides. I do prefer ice-first, as thunder-first doesn't let my cds come back for feathers. Conga in ex2 is real cool. Lot of good slidecasting opportunities in both fights. Icicles in ex1 were a nightmare until I learned them and they became free. I like to join the conga stacks early in ex2 in order to reduce damagee output and slidecast my away from the bar till it reaches my position. One thing I will say is in ex2 it can be real awkward to heal when the party is split. If a range decides to be off in narnia there isn't much I can do. Even with people at max melee I need to be as far in as I can.
Loving these two fights. Not my first extremes (Barbi has that honor, progged as a healer in pf… *shudder*). I’ve done Barbi Golbez and Zeromus, but I never did them with the intent to farm out the mount, only ever did for weapons before. But these new fights are fun enough (and the mounts cool enough) to run them for mounts! If they keep this up, I’m excited to farm every mount this expansion on content. Found Vali to be the more fun of the two, though I do like Deadbeat Dad’s tells a lot and hope they play around with mechanical symbols a lot this expac.
Love the two fights I got everything from ex 1 after 66 runs so unless my fc mates want to run it I’m never doing this again lmao and I’m currently farming ex 2 for the mount as well at 57 runs currently personally of the two I prefer zoraal ja simply bc it’s a bit more engaging imo and since the mechanics are harder it’s way more satisfying to pull everything off perfectly dodging the donut point blank mechanic perfectly is always VERY satisfying and overall like you said it’s really a fight where you get hit more often so again doing a perfect no hit run on it makes you feel like a really good player 😌
Personally I found Everkeep much much easier than Valigarmanda, I did both blind, didn’t watch guides, and Vali took me a few days, Zoraal Ja I finished in a literal hour of prog, saw enrage in 20 minutes, only had to clean up mechanics; but both are a lot of fun
As the "guy with the triangle", Zodiark is fun, and more people would enjoy it more than they do if they actually paid attention rather than blindly follow someone. ...That said, it is a bit too easy, but I'd compare it to ZJ rather than Vali, as the accessory trial is always more like that sort of style, rather than the weapon trial, which tends towards more coordination required, but less tight on execution.
Totally agree that zodiark is fun (especially when you actually pay attention) and good point about the accessory trial. I do just think that these 2 extremes overall teach you more transferable skills across fights which is a very good thing.

Cool video keep going😁
Congratz on the wings, at 89 kills for Vali myself and just waiting for the 99 trade in before i get the last 10

It's nice that people can enjoy this stuff. I just know i'll never be able to clear it for like 2 expansions.

Looking for static on Chaos to clear, I can play DRG or War as I'm about to hit 100 on it

Dawntrail's Extreme Trials Are Absolutely Tedious"
Why do you say that?
