The fact that they degraded this massive upgrade of the parkour system in the future games makes me furious the most
I disagree, simply in the following games there were less buildings to climb on, and Syndicate had a grappling hook which kind of undermines the climbing. I also feel like the climbing systems in later games felt more responsive and kept the same features from Unity. Animations just were not as varied as in Unity

Unity had by far the most vibrant believable city and setting in the franchise. Just unfortunate That they just did not have enough time to polish it. Could have been the best in the series

How is there not enough time! Its their game.. Take as much time needed to simply not make a buggy game.. Who bullied them to put the game out unfinished? Lol, I really like and own Unity, just don't understand when consumers say these things... Most of the time games are unfinished do to money... Not time... Creators and Devs no longer do it for the love of the art. Or are not the ones in power anymore of the actual gameplay.

It was finished. The ending was just like an AC games. All master assasins lost everything they loved for the brotherhood. Arno lost his home, he was kicked from the brotherhood, and lost Elise.

Thorrezz I totally agree, I love how ambitious Ubisoft was with it but it was just too soon for such a densely detailed world to exist on current gen consoles - fingers crossed they can exceed Unity’s ambition and make the true best AC game ever. What I’d love them to do is take 3 or 4 years off after Odyssey and then come back with a next gen reboot with an incredible story and mindblowing world that rivals Rockstar in terms of polish and detail.

I hate how innovations made in AC games rarely carry over to sequels. As flawed as this game was it made some massive improvements that never returned.

it didn’t carry over because there was too much lag and problems Ubisoft made this game to be with the next generation of consoles but they overdid it and many of the features and graphics were way ahead of their time maybe on the ps5 they can make more games like this
They really overdid themselves with Unity. Game looks good and has nice graphics. Syndicate was more boring than fun graphics were not too great etc and so on.
Franc Marcus no Ubisoft rushed it out, if they had another couple months to polish it would of been smooth gameplay. The game today is pretty solid, minor glitches

Ac unity is THE most underrated game I have ever played
i can tell right away that you didnt play this on release, it was easly the most glitchy, bug ridden dumpster fire mess than ubisoft has ever released, they even gave away a story dlc for free as an apology for the disgusting state this game was released
1 2 3 I mean, it deserved all the hate it got. At release, the game was a fucking mess + ubisoft tried too hard to maximize the number of civilians/npcs on screen which only fucked up the game even more (if only Rockstar did it xD) + the story was kinda underwhelming.
Nowdays it’s a great Ac game, but goes to show that EXACTLY like Batman : Arkam Knight, a bad release can completely ruin a good game
My uncle gave it to us a year after its initial release. The bugs aren't totally gone but I enjoyed it. I liked the parkour system and the lively crowds although the story wasn't that great compared to previous installments.
@@danielz-v4083 not exactly, Arkham Knight was broken on PC, but even there, the problem was just the framerate! Unity was released even with faces missing from cutscenes, it was literally a game released in the Alpha or Beta stage!

@@wastedtime4962 I've looked carefully at the two new games animations and I've realised something. Their animations are clearly an upgraded version of AC 3/Black Flags animation, not Unitys. You can tell this because you the animations are nowhere near as smooth as unity or syndicate, and you aren't able to run up a wall diagonally or parkour down walls anymore. This is annoying because the best thing about Unity was parkouring around paris so satisfyingly smooth.

@@avci6084 it kinda is though. Unity has better parkour, and a better story (mainly because Odyssey main story is just terrible). But Odyssey is just a much bigger game. Beautiful open world, interesting side missions, hunting, npcs that look alive, and animals that hunt each other. And all the little details added to the game like fire spreading, or objects realistically reacting to the character. AC unity is definitely a better AC game, but Odyssey is the better game.
Anyone else glad they've finally created an Assassin who doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when amongst a crowd? Ezio was practically begging to be attacked with that flamboyant outfit.

After all the patches, this game was really good. I think it was ahead of its time. The world is soooooo dense and the fact that you can go into most buildings freely. Also has multiplayer .

Guys, focus on the fact that Unity was WAYY ahead of it's time and it's biggest glitches and bugs were fixed , graphics is amazing for a 5 year old game.

Came here after Marge's gameplay showcase. I have never seen the concept of a game be so much downgraded after the creative direction that took unity. This is the ultimate AC game just for the feeling alone. Awesome graphics, awesome soundtrack, awesome gameplay and awesome location. Imagine what a team like this could do with a year more to work on this game. Imagine how this team could have done a feudal Japan game. This is what AC should have become.

I own a pavillion dv6-6c35dx with weak parts since it was from 2012 and its a laptop.. and i run watch dogs and ac games on low and enjoy every minute and then theres a ungrateful assholes who complains game is shitty running at 100fps with his 3grand pc and i run at 19 or less with tons of drops. cherish what you get.

sb792079 It happened to me a lot in watch dogs, enforcers close, but i realized i couldn't take them down from there cause enemies moved up, i tried to move, and i got stuck on one side and died. it happened many times, they should make it like in dishonored in every game imo

Replaying this now in late 2016 with the amount of patches Ubisoft did it is actually not that bad of a game.
they never fully fixed it. Not at all.
They fixed a lot of the problems. Bugs, being more specific.
But the game still is bad optimized and run at 26 fps on consoles.
It's a shame though. I bought it really cheap for the X1 and the game it's quite fun in a lot of aspects. But the frame rate sucks bad.

Why does everyone have English accents? I'm going to have to play this in French with English subs if that's possible.
It's weird, considering they made it a point to make the accents fit in the other games. And it's freaking Ubisoft so it's not like they have a shortage of French people.

Considering Ubisoft is a French company, the game is set in France.... Pretty silly that they put so much work into the creation of this 1:1 scale of Paris, and overlook the dialect!!

Well... You can't see how good it is until you lose it. We lost the old AC and now we got this generic RPG that barely has any Identity. I rather have AC Unity Part 2 than another Generic RPG Creed

Yeah, ancient egypt or WWII would be stupid as hell. I just wish they would change the air a little bit. AC 4 was the best since AC 2 mainly because it changes something at the world. It was completely different then what was before (talking about the world). You had so much stuff to do, pirating and treasure hunting etc. Here, it's like you go back to Brotherhood where you only had one city and boring side-missions.
And in awfully setting. Now when Templar could posibbly be there? Japan never been colonized by other countries. And ninja basically is an assassin. So just play ninja games and stuff

Ubisoft’s gone wierd these past few years, quality of games have gone down.
Why it looks better? Baked lights and shadows, scrapped time of day cycle. Similar to AC1 without timecycle looking little bit better than AC2. Sure with new technology they could do realistic graphic with timecycle tho.

This was the ultimate assassins creed experience. Parkour, social stealth, and a combat system you could do montages of. You would feel like an assassin going through the crowds and then reaching your target. Could have done with more time in the oven to polish those bugs and glitches, but till today this imo will the most immersive assassins creed yet.
What makes this game ugly is just a variety of bugs and glitches, the rest of this game is amazing and this is a true AC game last (sorry if my English is bad)
You should've said what "made" instead of "makes", because from what I've noticed they've done a pretty good job covering most of the bugs and glitches that were there at launch.
I've played through this game 1.5 times and I've never had any major issues like the ones that were at launch. Like the only 2 things that I can remember is that I clipped through a building once through those whole 2 playthroughs in a coop mission and I was once stuck on a cart. Other than that the game is amazing for me, and it has the best parkour out of any AC game out there.
I wish they had implemented this combat style in Odyssey. Also the graphics and the amount of NPCs is amazing for it's time, which were never brought over to the sequels.
This combat style is meant for stealth play, and is hard for open combat though. I like it. ^^
This seemed like the game that they wanted the PS3 era games to be. I hate how they downgraded the series overtime. I hope Mirage goes back to this. Update the engine and systems.
The reason why Ac unity's parkour feels so smooth and overwhelming is Because the massive focus went on the game to make it next gen including renovating parkour, stealth and combat. This was the last true next gen game but it had just a bad luck or bugs!

Put 100 hours into both origins & odyssey and thought both were really good at the time but just started playing unity again and as crazy as it sounds I think I actually prefer unity style of play over origins & odyssey. Shame this new viking AC going to be the same as origins and odyssey.

Such a shame they completely abandoned most of the features in this game. It was buggy as hell, but it still took the franchise in the right direction gameplay wise. Now we just fight epic gods and monsters in Valhalla. 🙃

It wasn't bad it was just the story wasn't as it seemed it was and the bugs were sometimes pretty bad but other than it was ok

I liked the gameplay, It was different and new (fencing). If you don't like the gameplay thats totally cool, its down to your personal preference, I for one loved this game because the story was good and I hated ship combat!

Regardless of how this game actually turned out... I'm watching it side by side with the new trailer for Assasins Creed Mirage and this just feels and looks so much better. The parkour is more responsive, the special effects are more dramatic and engaging, crowds are simulated more effectively, buildings are more interesting amd interactive. They're talking about how they're "getting back to their roots" but unity is 7yrs old now, and an assasins creed on present day consoles still can't hold a candle to what is considered one of the weaker games to come out of the "older generation" of assasins creed titles. It's just a shame.
Please, for love of god, change the ding sound when you're detected. It's been the same since AC Brotherhood. Make it feel new!!! God, I hate that sound already.

Because most couldn’t play it on release since it was 10 fps and crashed every 5 minutes and often times faces wouldn’t even load

From the snippet we have seen from AC Mirage today, I can now safely confirm that AC Mirage will always live under the shadow of AC Unity. Ubisoft were too premature with the backlash to Unity, believing the parkour mechanics were the problem when really, that was never the problem.

This was the last true AC game. It had the best feeling Parkour! I remember those good old gaming days where I waited for new Ac game. Since origins I lost interest. Am playing odyssey but its so repitive and I hate rpg. Valhalla looks great but still kind of rpg. Not sure why the f is every company trying to make large games where you can waste your life instead of decently big but quality games. Who has 80 hours or so of life to waste on a single game.

***** I'm pretty sure that didn't happen. A few travels to London wouldn't give you an English accent. But the lack of French accents is really weird, especially since people in the previous games had the right accents.
See the character trailer for Arno. They specify his heritage and birthplace but I forget what they are. I think it's French and Austrian or something like that. But yeah, his accent does sound British. I guess we'll see when the game comes out. Kinda funny, since Ubisoft's department that does most AC games is based in Montreal, where a good portion of the population are of French heritage.
it probably is because the game was made in french. I will play it in french and use subtitles. Much better experience, I reckon. I've done the same with the Metros with russian.

It blows my mind how Ubisoft interpreted the community criticizing the game riddled with bugs at launch, as them saying the game was bad. And then decided to begin moving in the direction of changing the formula completely by making rpg creed.

I agree, and it feels so painful that now when the fans kept telling them to "go back to the roots" all they do is literally have Mirage be like a game run only by nostalgia with little to nothing new added or creative.
