A small portion at the end was filmed in St. Louis. Specifically the art museum. The equestrian statue is the "Apotheosis of St Louis" and sits north of the St Louis Art Museum in Forest Park. Great video, I enjoyed seeing my hometown and alma mater 99 years ago!
99 years ago, so much to identify.
Some UI scenes:
3:38 driving down the Quad towards the Auditorum
3:56 the future site of the Undergrad Library and the Morrow Plots
4:22 the Armory and the "New Gym" (Huff Hall) in its first year of operation, Memorial Stadium in distance
5:18 from the top of Stadium view toward campus up Fourth Street
I sat in that very corner of the stadium at the very top like that at Farm Aid.
Very cool. Keep up the good work you do.
The grand houses are fraternity houses on UI campus
So cool. I was just thinking about buying a 1926 Chevy .....and to think it was just being produced when this film was made.
Blessings
I hope you do get that 1926 Chevy my friend... 👍
This video is incredible. Did you see the size of those houses?
Chicago pre Dick Biondi.
Ahh! The days where productivity and real work ethic was king! (Empire State Building was built in 13 months from shovel in the ground to completion as an example! It takes that long today, at least here in Canada to build an over pass over a 6 lane road here in Calgary as a comparison!, because of too much RED TAPE in the way for progress!
