That worked! Thank you. Spent quite a bit of time trying to figure it out and follow the instructions that Brother provides online. None of which worked. Thank you for the video!
Thank you very much. Its actually pretty sad how their own technicians can create a device, but they can't properly communicate it to the consumer. They should probably just hire me to do videos for them LOL I appreciate it though, glad it helped 💯
Appreciate the help! When you use the key pad and use the "Scan to PC" option it just get stuck on "Connecting to PC". The way you show in this video actually works.
Thank you thank you soooooooo frickin much !!!! I thought I was never going to be able to scan to my computer with that brother printer. You, Sir, are awesome absolute godsend.May God richly reward you 🙏🏾.
Hey buddy I have a brother toner model, I used to be able to scan from my printer itself to my computer, for example 10 pages at once. I got a new modem, I can print from desktop to printer, but I can no longer scan from printer to computer. Just computer to printer, using the method you just showed. It’s a PITA because my printer is in the other room
So I'm not at my computer at the moment, however, you may be able to change that in the preferences when you click on the scanner before the scan window will pop up. Either properties or preferences. 0:52 If this does not work then I'm sorry, you will just have to just import it into the default file that it goes to and then drag and drop it to your desktop.
This is basically how I scan with my home computer and my low-end Brother Inkvestment "tank" printer (which has no Scan button on the printer). However, I want to scan from my Brother HL-L2380DW printer at work, which does have a Scan button. How can I get my Brother printer to scan by pressing the Scan button?
@@AllThingsQuick It does for a while (several weeks), but then it stops responding to the Scan button. I wasted all morning at work today trying to troubleshoot this, and reinstalled the "complete driver and software package" from the Brother website, but still can't scan from the Scan button on the HL-L2380DW, neither single-page nor multi-page documents. Since we're also having issues at work with getting the shared Canon copier in the lobby to scan documents as PDFs to the office email, I really need to get the scanning function on my printer working again, especially for multi-page documents which must be kept as a single file.
Ok but for my Brother Lasetjet, can I use the feeder to scan MULTIPLE documents at a time instead of using the regular glass-panel scanner? Like if I had twelve pages of my taxes I need to make into one document, does the Brother allow me to send the pages through the feeder?
To be honest I'm not entirely sure about that one because the model that I have doesn't have it. Im pretty sure with a lazer jet you can just set them all in, select how many pages you want to scan and press scan and it should do the job. But that I'm not 100% about. I'm just thinking back to an old printer that I worked on like 2 years ago. Pretty sure that's how it went. Honestly, sorry that I can't be much help with that one boss.
@@AllThingsQuick Thats's ok. Thanks for responding. Reading back on it sounds like a dumb question. What's even dumber is the fact that the solution to my problem was, in fact, switching (on my Mac) the scanning options from FLATBED to DOCUMENT FEEDER. lmao! I guess when one is connected the other cannot be connected. That's why when I initiated a scan from the feeder the Brother display would show "No PC found". Thanks for your reply anyway. subbed.
@@PittsburghSonido thats great! Thanks for explaining. Now I know what to tell people who ask next time. Appreciate the sub fella! What kind of car do you have? Lol, random question for a printer video.

This actually happened to me before and then I moved from my apartment so I was forced into a new I turned provider and thus obtaining a new IP address and wifi password. Once I reconnected the printer with a new password it all of a sudden worker again. I'm not sure if this is a true solution so I would suggest the following to troubleshoot this issue: 1. Change your wifi password and reconnect the printer (reference to my video on how how connect to wifi network. Link in description) 2. Set your printer as default printer 3. Disconnect your printer from the options (ie. Forget this device) 4. Reconnect the printer so your computer will recognize it and set it as default. Then restart your PC to refresh the options. Might be worth checking out. However, to answer your question specifically, yes I do know how... but not with this printer. This printer is not equipped with a paper tray to feed multiple items in at once for scanning purposes. Unfortunately, this video seems to be the only solution on the matter. I believe if you are connected to your PC via cable, you are able to simply press the "Scan" button to scan your items. But my understanding is that while on wifi, this disables this feature. If you would like to scan multiple things at once, you are better off finding a different device that has this ability. What you can do instead is scan multiple files individually and bring them all to your desktop and drag each file into a newly created folder. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance to you.
@1:00 in this video you can see the drop down box from the printer. Go to "printer properties" and see if there is an option for you to be able to change the location your files will be sent to.
Does your printer show that it is connected? I would try restarting your pc first so the connection can be broken and then reestablished. The only reason you wouldn't see "start scan" is due to your computer not recognizing your printer for what ever reason. Let me know how this turns out.
Okay so I actually just tested to see if it was even possible to do that and unfortunately its NOT ⛔... However....... you are able to pin your "CONTROL PANEL" to your Taskbar by dragging and dropping it onto the task bar. Thats about the best you can do with it.
To be honest I don't think you can because it is a tray scanner not a paper fed scanner. Industrial printers you feed the pages on and it will scan. This one does one copy at a time when you put the page in the top glass. As far as I understand thus printer. Sorry I can't be more help. 😔
