Thank you mate. Got it ! Yupeeee. I used your second option as single pages to scan multiple pages documents on glass wih YES or NO button to continue scanning or no NO. Problem with these printers companies is. They don't give us complete manual books about every aspect of how printer work when we buy the printers. That sucks. Thank you again. Cheers.
@@JeffStaffon: Thank you Sir again. I tried this morning to do 4 docs on one file and i followed the steps as you did - the method for individual docs one by one. I got stacked at : select PC - press OK. I pressed OK After it says FILE - press OK, i pressed File - OK and on screen appeared "Press Start". I pressed START (Green button" and it said "Connecting to PC", but nothing happened. It stayed that way for minute or so then gone to Sleep. Bugger. It s so frustrating. The printer is connected to WI FI but also on USB cable.
@@TheBluesman511 The printer should be connected to your network with either a USB cable (sharing via the PC's network settings) or WiFi...not both. It might work the way you have it now but that's not typical and the printer could be getting confused on which driver to use in order to communicate with your PC. We used to have the printer connected via WiFi but have since connected it to a PC with a USB cable instead and then shared the printer to the network via the Network settings. We also had a situation where when connected to the network via WiFi the printer would go into a deep sleep mode if not used in a while and the WiFi connection would disconnect. It was difficult to reconnect to the network automatically by sending a print/scan job to or from it. Just a suggestion...either use WiFi or USB cable but not both.
Thanks Jeff. That was helpful. First I thought "why such a long tutorial? Would be enough to have the part from 2:18 to 2:58..." But after reading some of the comments - all good. Great tutorial.
When scanning multiple pages arrange the pages from top to bottom (first to last) and insert as shown on the printer. Most of them have the pages facing up but some have the pages facing downward.
What if the Scan button on the Brother printer isn't working? Is there a way to scan multiple pages to a single PDF from a software app (such as Control Center 4) on the PC? Especially if my Brother printer doesn't have an automatic document feeder (so I have to use the flatbed scanner glass)?
That's a good question. I don't have an answer for you. That's something you'll have to play with to see if the Control Center software provides that capability. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I am wondering, if you found a solution? My Brother also doesn't have automatic feeder, and I also need multiple page pdf. When I got o sanner window id doesn't even give pdf file option.
@@feltingme I'm not sure why yours doesn't show a multiple page option. Our models must be different. There is a suite of software you can download from Brother's website. One of the Apps is the Control Center 4. In those Apps you can customize how your printer/scanner works.
Good question. I'm not sure. I'm not able to test that because I'm remote from our office. I would think it would accept legal size paper because it works on letter size...but I'm just not sure.
Our printer is connected to a Windows 11 PC now, but I work from a Macbook Air and it works fine. The multi-page function is performed from the little LCD screen and buttons on the printer. It sounds like a driver issue on your Macbook. I would go to Brother's website and make sure you have the latest Mac driver for your laptop. If that's the case, I would back-rev to an older driver and see if maybe the multi-page function was broken during a driver update.
I wasn't the person who bought this for our office. Non of the original paperwork is available. It's not very fast. The number is probably not something you'd advertise. Are you interested in the model I used in this video?
That was automatic when I selected the PC option in the window dialog. If yours doesn't connect to the PC then it's most likely not installed correctly on your computer. An easy way to re-install is to delete the Brother Scanner/Printer from Windows and then re-connect the Brother to the computer and let Windows install and use its drivers. If that fails then I would use the Brother software that came with your unit to re-install.
It appears that model does support double sided paper. I don't have that model but I would look in the settings in the application that came with the printer. In that software/app you can customize your printer to your liking.
Yes you can. There should be an app on your computer call "Brother iPrint&Scan". Inside that app you can configure the scan feature to scan to jpeg, pdf or other formats. You can also download that app if you don't already have it.
Download the Brother iPrint&Scan App for your computer. I'm assuming you have a Windows PC. Windows should have a driver for the printer/scanner already in their library and should install when it senses the printer/scanner. The App that you download for your computer will help you make changes to the configuration and update drivers.
Merci!
That's not an easy question to answer. Most likely the printer/scanner needs to be reinstalled on the PC. First check to see if you can print to it. My guess is you can't. I don't know the level of experience you have but a good solution is to reinstall by deleting the printer in Settings and then going through a normal installation. Are you connected with a cable between the computer and printer or are you using the WiFi/network connection to it? If you're using a WiFi connection, I've found that the printer/scanner doesn't wake-up properly if it hasn't been used for a while. Our solution was to connect it with a cable to make it a local printer to the PC and then share it from the PC to the network if you want other computers to use it.
Are you running yours in wireless mode off your WiFi or connected directly to a PC with a USB cable? We had problems with ours when we ran in wireless mode. The printer would go to "sleep" after a period of time of not being used and disconnect from the WiFi. It would then have to be re-connected using the printer's software. There may be a setting in the printer itself that will disable the Power Management Sleep mode but I wasn't able to get it to work. We connected our printer to a PC using a USB cable and shared it to the network using Windows. I hope this helps.
Used your info about 3 months ago. Came back to refresh myself. Had 13 pages to scan into 1 file. Your the best! Works great.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad I was able to help!

When scanning multiple pages, which page is on bottom of the stack? i.e. how is the stack prepared? 1st page on top? or inverse the order?

How many pages can that printer scan per minute with the document feeder?
