- The team return to some unsolved Myth-teries... First Adam and Jamie deck the walls finding out if you can paint with explosives!
Using science as a tool, Hollywood special effects experts attempt to debunk rumours, urban legends and popular myths that have captivated the minds of many individuals.

I always felt like Jamie and Adam accidentally solved each others' assignments in this one. Adam created a device that would distribute paint evenly across an entire room, while Jamie made one that would create patterns in specific areas.
I think that Jamie Hyneman might be the first person I have heard call a yoga ball a "rubber sphere".
the dude is so logical
he would call a banana a potassium pipe 🤣
to be fair he did mistake salami for rocket fuel, to breath taking success
edit: he is also the epitome of a mad scientist
Usually I think that's to avoid trademark/product placement issues
@@wijjit😂
@@wijjit if he's the epitome, we're in a world of trouble because he's a piss poor scientist.
I think Jamie's "Paint Star" wasn't a bad design, it just needed a lot more holes to spray from, to cover more angles.
But yeah, it'll never be like in the Mr. Bean video.
Perhaps something along the lines of that classic steam engine, using the paint ejecting from angled channels as thrust to spray the stuff in a circle. A ranged paint roller, if you will.
And make a reverse “Paint Star”.
It's called a nuclear bomb.
I discovered them with the episode where they look for needles in haystacks. My favorite myth from all those years is still the water heather exploding and flying through the roof of a house.
Jamie's sphere has to be the most overkill thing I've seen in a while x)
right?
i would love to get a hold of it and turn it into a bird house.
Hopefully a raven or owl moves in to turn up the ambiance to 11.
I can't believe they didn't write a part for Buster in this episode. Tragic!
I like it how a random goofy clip from Mr. Bean gets so much attention. I mean, no one's even claimed it's a myth... right?
Just goes to show how awful the science is in this show. They even missed the point of their own show.
I would have liked to see the boat going 25mph on a rail into a steel pole. Would have solved the glancing problem AND the broken-marker problem, and I think it might just have worked.
17:55 Devil Myth Cry
39:40 feel like it's more Event Horizon.
I love that the way they do things at the speed track is always, instead of having A hit B, have B hit A because we can make B move without ripping itself apart lol.
The inertia of the boat was waaaay far ahead of it with twice the power, regardless of the speed it would be pulled through a flimsy log. If the boat was being pushed by the motor at the stern then the bow would feel compression instead of expansion, and likely buckle under pressure. Its similar to when you push a wheeled cart over a gap and it gets a bit stuck, versus pulling it and it goes across without a problem. REDO THE REDO!!
You know... "SCIENCE™!!!!
Holy crap, I haven't seen this one I think! That's very special: thought I had them all! Haha
18:27 Looks like Jamie has 7 degrees on his wall
Amazing
"how much explosive is it too much" :
Nonsense, there is no such things as too much explosives.
My fave thing about this episode is Kari's coat, I want one
I genuinely miss this show and the whole crew.
It's probably also in part nostalgia of a time where I didn't have to worry about an overweight Oompa Loompa ending democracy.
Weird way to describe Harris.
same, at least for the first part, I live in Australia so I don't have to worry about Donald Dump as much but still. Realy wish I could have met the hole crew and do a episode with them, which I guess every one that grew up with this show probably feels the same.
So idiot
You know what they say it’s easier to destroy than create and that especially applies with explosives
the paint star would totally work if it had like 50 smaller nozzles compared to 4 big ones. then you line up the inside with plastic to stop the paint from leaking out before the blast.
Jamie casually building a nuclear bomb.
Cool.😂
But...
Where is the shoping basket to order some c4?😂
40:01 has anyone noticed every one of the plywood walls around the "Death Star" have a small hole blown in them in the exact same pale on each, presumably by a screw symmetrically being blown out of each side? you can even see the exit wound in the door at 40:09
40k volts at 0 amps!
31:03 Deidara must be proud of you...
Deidara was right, art is an explosion
So what was that barge doing running into a channel marker like that?
Anyone got any idea as to why that barge had it out for it?
BBC imprint maybe... but why Masterchef?
"The myth is busted! Obviously the poll would have split!"
RIOT!!!!!!
or the dudes boat had damage to hull already
"It's like clown's head exploded" - Adam

omg I want her coat so badly
funny how S9 had a lot of "accidental" cleavage shots from kari.
And no timestamps... dissapointed🫥

So glad they got rid of that cringey season 8 intro
man was this a bad episode or what
this is one of the dumbest myth. you get a one in a million occurrence, im pretty sure that you can not easily replicate it with TWO tries.
from the picture of the boat i get:
- not modern us wood, but actually hard wood, maybe aged by year being in the water
- not 25 miles per hour, for sure not.
- not a clean hit with the nose (as tory showed with the small red boat....)
I mean... the myth is they hit it at 25mph, so if that's not possible, the myth is still busted anyway.
@@araonthedrake4049 nah, the myth is "can a pole split a boat" and it clearly can.
the excuse towards the police was "i was only driving 25mph"
also there are so many physical specifities they effed up. the last hit was CLEARLY not going to split the boat. the strongest point is the seam. in the photo you clearly see its off to the side, angled and slightly sloping outwards. which means the boat was not moving straight, but most likely did either a slight curve or hit a wave an bounced sideways slightly.
then there is the angle the pole needs to hit the side, the more towards 90°, the less chance for slipping.
tory showed it clearly with his red boat.
though mythbusters is known for semantically changing the myth to justify their outcome.
@@araonthedrake4049 it's not a fkn myth to begin with.
