13:00 The most sincere reaction I've seen from one of the shop keepers!
34:50 Tori "I'm worried about all of us". Me too Tori, me too.
When I was a kid I was crazy about Crystine 😍
It's a shame she wasn't recognized much on the show.
With this daily dose of early Mythbuster, I'm starting to see why they brought in Grant onto the team, what with the multiple troubleshooting of electrical problems
The needle in a haystack was pretty awesome.
Yeah, one of those experiments that shows the different ways Jamie and Adam solve a problem. Always fun 😁
the way jamie feels so comfortable in the suit because he cant really be preceived haha xD Maybe i'll get a suit like that too
jamie is a furry
We really should bring "Wago-Klemmen" to the U.S. these twist-connectors give me chills every time.
41:36 Even after all these years, this never gets old 😂
I’ve been waiting for this one
9:09 that legs and arms Stand looks like a Bad girl trying to lie to the Teacher
I’ve been meaning to get a radio set up in my tents for my plants for ages as I’ve seen this experiment done on blue Peter in the 90s and they got the same results. But I’ve still not got around to doing it.
I’m gonna get on that and do it tho see if it improves growth/yield or quality etc.
The power of METAL! \m/
Do you perhaps know the song? Sounds pretty decent ngl
9:48 absolutely
39:08 theres a kid that snuck in🤣
I wonder who has the tape with all of Kari's sweet talk.
I think the mean talk would be a lot funnier to listen to. "You called the plant a freshman?"
@@92xsaabaru- I can almost guarantee you that he isnt interested in any humorous aspect of the tape..
@SirHorned19 oh I'm sure. I'm also sure there are some interested in the verbal abuse tape for non-humor reasons.
Kari: no meat, no peas... just a difficult eater in general, it seems.
Also I loved the transition from 'I love you, I love love love yooouuuu' to 'RREAAAAAAAAWWWWRRRR!!!!!' it was quite funny and got a chuckle out of me.
35:06 accidently made one of those dot focusing on intersection of line optical illusion.
34:47 neurolink update POV
Playing a recorded voice to the plants does not replicate all of the factors in the myth. For example; the alleged benefit may come from blowing on the leaves periodically, removing dust that might interfere with photosynthesis. Or moisture from breathing on them might affect them. The first would not be achieved by recorded sounds unless they were at extremely high volume, the latter not introduced at all.
for some reason i love the scene at 26:04 jamie deciding to chase adam
Edit: look at the clip at 0.25 speed
29:25; Takes me right back to high school
This one takes me back. A few years ago one of my friends neighbours house blew up due to, to many bug bombs
@@aussiedude3121 I was talking about "You suck, suck, suck", it's exactly what people were like at school
I can't believe talking to plants works.
29:14 😂
11:34 I think that the explosion are of more interest for the authorities, but I get the worry
Why not X-ray the hay, that would show both bone and steel ?
8:17 the mood slime test
Plants are headbangers.
Literally fire vs water :D
Except a farmer would want to find the needles without completely destroying the hay 😅
23:18 if there is no draft in the house then ya it will blow.
But did the bone needle float or sink?
I think it sank, otherwise it would've gone with the pile of wet hay.
Classic episode.
How is it they forget about Stoichiometry for every episode?
I love that the Mythbusters lost their minds to the plant myth.
The most plausible thing that I can think of is that the vibrations in the air help with the gas exchange. Plants get the majority of their building blocks through the air and also them being dehydraded helped too since the main limitation of that gas exchange is the loss of water. Though I would think people of greenhouses would then already be using it. Like maybe subsonic speakers.
@@MrMarinus18 you know vibrations might also help to more evenly spread water through the soil in the pots. Especially when there was a problem with watering system. This episode make me thinking - I always listen to music at home and plants on my window grow quite nicely. Maybe there's something to it ).
@@d4slaimless I would think it would have applications and would be something greenhouses would know about for a long time.
Collette 😍
wait kari....tongue percing? don't remember that from the later season
The thing is not permanent and she is quite young in this episode. As she got older probably decided it's not her style.
Funny enough, recent studies have confirmed that plants listening to music grow and generate yield better. And this technique has been used on farms! However, the exact mechanism is still unknown, to my knowledge. A quote from one study: "Our results provided reasonable evidence for elevated photosynthesis during music treatment."
35:22 I have an idea why they had Grant instead of Scotty in the later Seasons.
A metal detector would find that needle in a few minutes. Using a pinpointer once you found the spot with the detector and boom!
Thers your needle.
Oh, it wasn't a metal needle? lol
Bought a new oven to get the ingition... my side of English stingines is working overtime right now.
Looks like Kari didn't really like the peaness at the end there.
When you just smoked your house 10 times too hard, would you really WALK IN and push the ignite button? Forget it. Think again. Stop doing that first test. Pure nonsense. Why are Jamie and Adam that duuuuuuh sometimes? This is a waste of time, this first test.
Did you not see the guy later saying this: this isnt a myth its a reality and that 1-2 houses go out like this every year in california.
To reinforce @288gto7 point ... at 22:56 Paul H Gosselin of the Department of Pesticide Regulation explains when those 1-2 houses are damaged each year in California alone, people forget to *_TURN OFF_* sources of ignition. They don't _"WALK IN and push the ignite button"_ To paraphrase you, _"Why are you that duuuuuuh sometimes?"_
Best Wishes. ☮
Adam: "I reject your reality and substitute my own."
Fox News: Write that down!!
