I was a Reactor Operator onboard an operating SSBN, one of the 41 for Freedom, & I only hope my 3 children & 4 grandchildren are as proud of me as I am of my father? My son, just achieved 1st Sargent in the Army National Guard, so I call myself, “I’m my hero’s Dad”!

Absolutely incredible video. Shows U.S. Military aircraft from present day Air Force F22 Raptor all the way back to the infamous Navy F14 Tomcat. In between we have the other world class fighters including the U.S. Air Force F16 Falcon and the Air Force F15 Eagle. I understand this film, and the original "Top Gun" portray Navy fighter pilots but am glad to see the film makers acknowledge other branches of the U.S. Military. Unquestionably, the finest military in the world. For some reason Navy pilots always seem to get "Into IT" first. Must not forget we have never lost an Air Force F15 Eagle in combat in how many decades? These pilots and their support crews , no matter what branch, make this 70 year old dinosaur proud to be American. "Nuff said.
Spot on Tim. I'm a Navy brat myself, but have always loved our country's military aircraft from the propeller F4U's, P-47, P-51, B-17's and B-29's. Through the early jet age with F-86, F-100, F-104's, B-52's, to modern hardware like the F-14, F-15, F-16 and F-22's are here. And yes, even one of my all time favorites, the Fairchild Republic A-10 was in this video! Totally awesome!

Agreed! Ever since early adulthood (late 40s now) I've thought of fighter pilot (outside of actual combat stress) as being the most enjoyable/thrilling job in the world!
@@kooldawg6 even outside of combat fighter pilots do go through huge stress. Landing on a carrier in the middle of a storm would kill the average person with the amount of stress that causes. Still it was the best job I ever had and only thing I regret was leaving

Great cover, love the music. I really enjoyed seeing all the planes. However, in my heart, Top Gun will always be about Naval Aviators and their planes. Having Air Force planes (F15s, F16s, F22s, A10s, etc.), while very cool, is not as authentic to the original score. Regardless, great music, great video, thanks for sharing and a thumbs up!
For me, NAS Miramar will always be "Fightertown", and the home of TopGun. I was there during this, with VF-24 and VF-211. But, the chAIr Force did serve a purpose; we'd use them as targets during Red Flag.

It's actually quite an easy scale to play on guitar. I'm not a guitarist, but picked it up in a matter of minutes. If I can do it, almost anyone can do it. Give it a try! You'll get it!

Top Gun soundtrack was a brand new 'thang' when I was in my 20's! I'm now 51!! But yet, it hasn't aged at all....and all the younguns love it now! Growing older is hilarious!

For me it was both the best and scariest moment every time I was sitting on the catapult.

I was lucky enough to see the Top Gun pilots racing around the valley's near Miramar in the 1990's. The RAF are still the best at dog fighting.
