I love my 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV Primere. 91k trouble free miles! Excellent and fun EV! Im looking forward to LFP battery!
7 months ago bought a used 2017 bolt it had 23k miles on it with a new battery, ,for 16k.. ,,,,,,, now with no gas use in 7 months an now 32k miles my fast commuter car is awesome, charge at work or charge at home much easier...... i love it when gas prices go up an im not out of pocket..
I bought a 2023 Bolt EV, because it was the first EV I could afford, & it has a good range. Mary Barra is right that there is a large market for EVs that the average person can afford. A substantial number of people drive gasoline subcompact hatchbacks & just need an affordable EV alternative. Faster charging at Level 3 charging stations would attract more people who want to make long trips.
I got the 2023 EUV and like most of us buyers, we KNEW about the slower DCFC and we don't mind it, because we mostly use it as a commuter car, which was its intention when it came out. HOWEVER, the media makes a lot of noise about it. I hardly use DCFC, so it's a non-issue for me. I do like the idea of LFP batteries though.
I will buy a 2025 model if I can get a decent trade for my’23 Bolt.
@@doggy911 Was thinking the same. But, if you don't need DCFC too often, then what's the point? I do like the LFP batteries though.
@@bmw803 Edmunds says that my 2023 2LT Bolt is only worth 19K on a trade. Carvana says it’s only worth 16K. I only have 11K miles on it. There’s no way I’m going to trade it for anything close to that. Chevy will have to do better. I do love the Bolt though.
@@doggy911 I contacted a VW STEALER for an ID.4 ( 2021) and they offered me 24-26K plus tax. But I would have to fork out an extra 10K for the VW. Gave up on the idea. I have a 2023 EUV, with leather interior and redline edition. I like ID.4 as it's bigger comfier , but the BOLT is trouble free and has less shit to go wrong. Basic mechanical door handles to conventional mc pherson struts. I'll keep the BOLT.
If GM really wants to go all electric (i think thats a mistake but not the point) it really needs to keep cheaper cars like the bolt around and it needs to make sure they stay affordable! They cant have every car start at $40k. That isn’t their market. They need to get the bolt down to low 20s and bring the euv in around 25 so the blazer and equinox have room in the line up. It should try to make a car with about 5k between the base models from $20k-$50k
I currently own 2023 Bolt EUV and would certainly love to have a new Bolt with the new battery and faster charging. Looking forward to seeing what it will look like!
Same! The charging is really the only thing i dont love about it. maybea new design change would look cool too
I wish they would make it bigger and faster like the Tesla Model Y.
The new Bolt won't have Android Auto / Car Play, which is a deal-breaker for me. I'd much rather keep my current Bolt EUV with its slow Level 3 charging than lose Android Auto.
What if the Chevy interface is good though
@agame-jv6zv It's not just about being good, it's also about supporting all the apps I use. AA / CP have a huge advantage here. No automaker is going to go to every app maker and get them all to make a version for the automaker.
@@CounterFleche fair, I think that tesla is a good example of how you can still be pleasantly surprised without AA/CP
GM has a habit of fixing something and ruining something else. Without Apple Play and Android they will lose a lot of sales. They will also have to spend the money to give the car 4G connectivity with a monthly fee which consumers don’t want. Consumer cars should have WiFi and do all its updates at home or when you are driving and have your phone connected. What it really needs is decent charging speeds 20%-80% ~1Hr, heat pump AC, decent range +300mi, vehicle to grid, over WiFi updates, advanced cruise control, and a full suite of safety features.
100%
Ultium will be a smorgasbord of pick and play shared components that will bring increased functionality and lower cost through scale. To wit; sub $25K base model designed specifically for urban commuting. Expect a small six module LFP battery good for 175-200 miles. Ultium will allow buyers to spec models with larger eight and even ten modules . So batteries with 50, 65 and 80 kWh will be available. For the first time AWD will be available thanks to the Ultium AWD assist motor. I think the heat pump based Ultium Energy Recovery system will be standard in all model which will improve winter efficiency. Other features like vehicle-to-home/grid, improved infotainment system, over-the-air updates will greatly add to the new Bolt’s utility. Finally, I think Ultium will allow Bolt buyers to replace battery modules at a reasonable cost, possibly with improved cell chemistry thereby extending the life of the car. Of course DC fast charging will be improved, but I think buyers will come to understand that charging at home is much more beneficial for convenience and low operating costs. GM may not make much profit on a sub $25K Bolt but it will pay for itself with high levels of buyer interest that will increase showroom traffic for sales of its higher cost EVs.
GM needs to read your post and implement everything in it.
I currently own 2022 Bolt EV and would love to have a new Bolt 2025 with a new battery with faster charging. Looking forward to seeing what it will look like!

I’d buy one. GM has what it takes to make awesome EV’s but it’s almost like they decided to sleep at the wheel
They have morons in the board room. Highly doubt that Mary is incompetent and stupid. She's the CEO, NOT THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY. Many don't understand what CEOS are.
Giving the next-gen Bolt some serious consideration, especially if they can offer all-wheel drive with the new platform.
Marry B announces the Brand New 2025 Bolt Euv for 25,000 dollars with LFP batteries..... And The Chevy Dealerships said it will be too rare to charge less than 45,000 for the vehicle. Killing its roll out.................. Their's and our own worst enemy is the Dealerships.... 2019 bolt owner now.....I think Tesla Model Y will be my next EV!!
Just got one. 2023 Bolt EUV. Loving it!
Premier or lt
DITTO
Enjoying my EUV 2023 so far, don't mind the slow charging as we have another car for long trips
I have got a max of 440 miles on road trip. With my Bolt EV 2017 model.
It’s like a hive mental health problem. Produce the best plug-in hybrid ever in the Volt, and stop making them in 2019. Now that more buyers want plug in hybrids, GM doesn’t have one. Produce the Bolts (we have two of them) and again, discontinue them. Now the Bolt(s) will be back, but say as little as possible about changes. This is a very confused company with irritatingly inconsistent leadership.
There's no getting around the need for the capability to take an occasional long road trip, which means there is a need for fast charging. It is rare that people can constrict their driving to local. Even a trip to a hub airport could cause range anxiety, or taking a kid to college. There are many reasons people will need to charge on the road, and that means at least 150 miles in 30 minutes.
I'm 82 years old I would like to lease a new Bolt EU. I wonder if they will offer leasing.
The Volt is a great car for the price. LFP batteries are definitely better. Hopefully Mary Barra will improve her reputation.
the new 2055 chevy bolt will be worth the weight. not only does it charge faster and longer but as it charges it weighs less and less
2055 is a long "weight" LOL
Sounds great!
How about adding/offering SS version with Door Moldings, Redline Stitching, Bose Stereo with Sub
woofer, some Chrome Styling, and Sport Mode?
Can they compete with the $11k BYD Seal thought😅
nope
GM better straighten out the Ultium platform and its software before releasing another mass-market version. Cancelling Bolt before a viable replacement was available was a stoopid move.
Yeah BUT the 2023 Bolt EUV may be my last GM since they're refusing to offer CarPlay and Android Auto.
I'm waiting for range numbers and price. 300 miles and 25k after any tax incentives, and I'm putting on a deposit.
make one with a sunroof,
I just got to try one with a sunroof. Very nice car
I look forward to the improved Chevy bolt. I hope they do it.
I've had my 2019 Premier since brand new. Love it, absolutely and unconditionally!
The Blazer EV seems to be grossly overpriced to me. The Equinox EV is more like an urban legend at this time, with its price going up even though they haven't started its production yet.... so, the new Bolt would be my natural new choice if GM actually start offering it for sale some day.
If the vehicle's slow charging causes you inconvenience, it's a consequence of your own poor planning.
Great now keep Apple Carplay on the new Bolt 😉
Is run by hydrogen and fit a 2012 design PLAN???
Frunk will be a thing in the new BOLT EV?
Come on GM get on with it already…! Quit sitting on the Fence with electrification…! Need more models now..!
GM has not been very good at fulfilling their promises when it comes to EV’s.
Does it really matter? If they rush things out, they will get dragged in the mud because of problems. If they take their time and correct issues, then they get bitched at that they're too slow. A big bias against GM. Tesla delayed shit, but that's ok.
Best bang for the buck. WITH reliability.
I thought Mary Barra was smart…then the stoppage of production showed otherwise…they couldve owned sales in 2024…but they didnt want sales.
Pretty bizarre that these big US car companies keep shoving big trucks down our throats.
@@daniellarson3068 cause they sell. f150 is best selling vehicle in usa…though i think chevy bolt couldve been very well received but it was dropped by chevy, then revived again.
@@daniellarson3068 right, now the lots are filling up with them.
2025 AWD?
LiFePO4!
GM can't get anything right they always focus on cost over quality
They only talk about the ev and not the euv I hope they bring back both cars. If Chevy sold only the bolt with all the new upgrades they can sell millions! Forget all the other cars they talk about.
The EUV is dead as the Equinox EV will fill the market offering for small SUV EV.
Yes......in 2029...............Paul
Hilarious that the EUV is the only one they are planning to bring back.
The chevy bolt for 2025 will have flush door handles and no rear wiper greetings from southern Ontario Canada discovered that on carscoops website 😮, 620 miles per charge
23' Bolt Premier is a lot of car for the dough. Love it for real. If I can convert it a mini p/u... LOVE
I wish this was more than a "BOT" talking. They repeat statements 10-12 times on the same video and cannot pronounce Reuters. Duh. Why do we have to listen to this same video over and Weber again. You could have shortened this to 1/4 the length with no change in the material covered. I am a Chevy EUV owner and was interested.
It would be nice to see Mary when she was in her 20s. She always has nice outfits and hairstyle. :)=
American car makers need to get the prices of BEV down. Include advanced cruise control this time. The lack of that kept me from buying the last version.
It is made in Mexico so it will probably be better built.
No it won’t
Blah blah blah blah blah and more blah blah
By 2025 Tesla will eat GM lunch and wipe the floor w Ford
Cant wait to drive a brand new $30k Tesla
No, BYD will kick tesla to the side and take over the auto industry😂😂
Useless, basically any Bolt owner knows 90% of what you just said!
