I couldn't find that many videos showing electric fireplaces in the detail I wanted. In the end I bought one, and I thought I could contribute the video that I would have liked to find on youtube. Hopefully, it might help you decide whether an electric fireplace is for you.
The model in the video is 23II042FGL 23". It comes in six sizes: 23", 26", 28", 32", 33", 42".

It will heat a room pretty well, I've been using it during the recent cold snap. But it is an expensive way to heat. I've been mainly using it for the visual ambiance.

Getting mixed messages from the manufacturer if I can create a frame wall and install this in it. I noticed the top of the unit gets VERY hot. Is this something you can install in a wood wall? If a frame is built and made out of shiplap can you put this unit inside it?

Why don’t you read the Manuel to see what the controls & codes mean? I have the same unit. Like it very much. “Not a fan of plastic & styrofoam”, huh? Lol What do you expect them to pack it in to ensure safe & dry delivery? Hemp? Lol I’m not a fan of environmentalists, cuz they don’t live in the real world

@@geraldpinkerton6412 alas, I only have a Prius, but yep I have solar panels. I put fuel in the car about once a month and haven't had an electric bill in ages. It's tough saving all that money when I don't live in the real world to spend it! :P
