Good video. I prefer this style over pins for security. This style is also an OEM option on Canadian built cars.
This style have been on the 70 Chevelle SS Canadian built, since new. I had to replace them and the only ones I could get are the same as in this video. They worked out OK except I had to enlarge the access holes underneath to get the backing washer in and securing nut. So now they are installed without the 4 screws. It makes a nicer looking installation. Just like the ones from Canadian Oshawa factory.

I kind of like the old look a bit better, but these do make sense. I guess a good thief would have a set of those keys in their pocket??
Thanks so much for the videos..... I'm still on most of the mechanical work on my 69, but will be moving on to paint prep next followed by a short visit to Maaco..... I use your videos often for great reference.. Great job...

I can't get over the look without the cable attached, it just seems like it's missing something without it. If they designed it so the cable can still be attached somehow just for a classic appearance, I'd be all over it.

That's cool. I was thinking of picking up a set of these from OPG eventually. my 70 is my daily driver so anything to keep it secure is worth the investment. my only problem is my hood doesn't have the holes for the pins drilled in it.

The fact that almost no one knows how to open the hoods on our chevelles except us make those kinda unnecessary
