I moved here to Boise earlier this year from Arizona. I needed to leave the desert because people were not meant to live there (too hot - some pass-thru forts become cities, what can you say). Anyway, i didn't know exactly where I wanted to go, and i decided on Boise for many, many reasons. One of them was Marcie. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Marcie knew I had nothing to offer her (I was not a buyer, just renting and getting settled), but she reached out later just to see how my move went and how I'm liking it here. It's those little things that let me know I made the right choice. Getting around in transit can be like playing Plinko on The Price is Right but I digress if that's the least I have to worry about 😅
I hate to break it to you, Boise is in the desert. Maybe not as hot as parts of Arizona. But get ready for dry and hot. 104+ on Saturday and likely next to zero precipitation for the next few months.
@@Kevin_twentyfourseven thank you, and respectfully, I am aware. Last year in Tucson, it was 110+ for just shy of 60 days (100+ for several months, per usual). Summer will be my least favorite season here as well because I love colder weather, but I can handle it. 😉
I will always believe that I was an Idahoan, accidentally born in California.... After 5 years of living here, I will never go back to that crazy way of life....
Some of the stories we have heard over the past several months from people trying to get out of California - it has really blown our minds! Poor California, anyhow, yikes!
How fast do we need to change our license plates? I plan on being a refuge in the future. I don't plan on bringing any California political BS with me. I just want a quiet beautiful place to call home. How can we expect the locals to treat us?
Thank you for the questions! We typically recommend getting license plates swapped out as quickly as you can once arriving (but some wait a couple of months which is fine too - totally up to you). And you will find some of that “anti-growth” mentality here (just as you will in any other state that has experienced a significant any boom) - in general though, Idahoans are incredibly friendly & welcoming. If you are able to come and visit, give us a call, we would be happy to tour you around.

Absolutely loving it here in Rathdrum! Wonderful people and clean everything. It's an absolute wonderful place.
We’ve heard so many good things about Rathdrum! Your whole area up there by Couer d’Alene is pretty hard to resist!
