I don't think it's an understatement, to say they're arguably and in my opinion the best case makers on the market right now, in terms of quality, look and ease of use to build in. P.S yes, you gotta do a build in this case

  • @LaxMan2k

Wouldn't dream of building in anything else, unless I fell into a pit of money and could go for a four rad watercooled system, just for the heck of it. Lian Li is killing it with the fans, the AiO, the cases, the strimers and even the software.

      This is my biggest problem with my Corsair 1000D... there's only one guy who makes extensions for corsair fans with RGB on ebay and they're pricy. From what I see in the official video by Lian Li, this case like the upcoming O11 EVO XL has a fully removable motherboard tray. With the Phanteks D140 distro plate on the rear fan position that would make plumbing the CPU and GPU tube runs an absolute breeze.

    I've got an 011 XL and I agree that it's overused, but it looks so clean. It's also a dream to build in and being able to fit 3 360mm rads is nice. I'm hoping Lian Li releases an "evo" version of it soon.

    • @praetorxyn
      @praetorxyn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also have one, but I didn't at all enjoy building in it because of cable management. Those HDD cages in the back just get in the way, and I found it a chore to fit everything in that little gap between the side radiator and the HDD cages. I ended up switching to a Phanteks Eclipse P600S so I could use 140mm fans and it was so much more enjoyable to build in.

    Back in around 2001, I got the Lian-Li cube case (probably nobody knows what that is). It was meant for servers, and was basically double the width of a standard ATX case (and held 2 power supplies).
    It was perfect for the experimental water cooling of the time, I mounted my pump, reservoir, second PSU (for peltiers), and radiator on one half, and the PC components on the other. And yeah, it was heavy….
    I really wish I still had it. Never thought Lian-Li would be well known after all these years, it was totally unknown back then.

Or even run vertical GPU for the main system while still having the option for the itx system below the PCIe slots.

I love it, you'll pry it out of my hands when I'm finally forced to outgrow it, not due to size since it is a full tower case, but it doesn't have cooling options to keep up with any current graphics card. I'm running an i7-8700 and an nVidia 1070 and it stays cool even under full load; I can only imagine how much stuff you could cram in to a case like that and still be able to keep it cool.

    i think my corsair 1000D is a bit wider than this case but the mounting options are insane

    • @SoVeXeN
      @SoVeXeN 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah mine definitely seems bigger in that aspect too

  • @thescrub5001
    @thescrub5001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    YES! Please build in this case.
    Also what would be cool is make a full game room box. Beast pc with a ps5, Xbox series x and switch all in one case. You for sure have the room to make that work

    What is the max fan size mount at the front? In manual is just written 4x 140mm. But I am wondering can be mounted 3x 200mm or 3x 180mm? Because there looks like a lot of space and so many mounting holes...

    It reminds me of a modern version of the Cooler Master Haf series, the 935 and 915 stacked. I love the heck out of that case and use it for a Plex server!

    I’ve purchased 3 Lian Li cases, the O11 Air mini, the Dan A4, and the A4 H2O. All have been very well manufactured and designed, but for this case, it feels like an oversight to have the side fan mounts to just blow into the side panel without any intake/exhaust, unless if you’re using it just as a reservoir

    This case deserves at least 1 build in it :) Do it Jay, would be fun.

    I must say I am upset I didn't see this case sooner. I JUST finished my build in an O11 Dynamic because it was the only case I could find that has space for my chonky as heck dual 360 rads. Now I find out there's a case that I could have super beefed up my cooling for even more insane over clocks.

      Same here. I bought the Phanteks Enthoo 719 after seeing Jay's video about it, but now I am thinking I should have gone with this case instead

  • @gewinnste

    Hey Jay, what does the case weigh, if I may ask? So far, I was under the impression that this is a mainly aluminum case (hence the price) and, like the Caselabs SMA-8, is far lighter than other equally-sized cases (e.g. Phanteks Elite: 73 lbs / 33 kg vs. SMA-8: 27 lbs / 12.2 kg ! ). Another question regards 560 mm rads: Can you confirm, these fit? On the Lian-Li website, it says 3x 480/420 + 1x 360. Thanks in advance!

    • @denissh9478
      @denissh9478 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oh yeah, I was also having doubts about the mentioned 560 rads. I think the max is 480, that's what the manual says.
      I'm not hating, but come on, doing a review and stating something without checking it yourself - is annoying

    I had a Cooler Master Storm Trooper about ten years ago that I absolutely loved just for its sheer size and ease to work with. If I had the room, I definitely would have gone with another super tower for my last build

    Build in the v3000!!! I miss the skunkworks build days. Also that motherboard tray is removable.

    this thing has 3 features ive been looking at this case for weeks now and they are as follow: regular, dual system, and rotated. Hes already talked about the first 2, but the last one is you can rotate the motherboard tray 90 degrees counterclockwise. build it in all three aspects please.

  • @lurkinwolf2489
    @lurkinwolf2489 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can also turn the mother board tray around and mount it in different ways. I like the face down look in this case, that’s why the grommet is besides the psu

    I love the added a grommet to run the graphics card cable down into the basement.

    i just ordered my V3000 Plus because of this video!
    I was a huge Corsair 7000D fan boy for the last 4 years or so, and contemplated the 1000D
    But This review really showed me how similar this case is to the SMA8.
    The amount of radiators i plan on putting in this thing is going to be ridiculous lol
    Amazing video Jay and Team!

  • @aaronhendrickson
    @aaronhendrickson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Connect two radiators on the two bottom locations. Both for intake. Is there a pad where you have the hot air blows at so the water can take it to the road. You'll have less hot air blowing a round.

  • @sniperlif3
    @sniperlif3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those multiple buttons on the top are split for the 2 systems. One can be power/reset for main, the other for the 2nd system, which is why you have 2 headphone jacks and other usb ports.
    The vertical GPU mount can be put in the bottom area. You missed a lot of tool-less removable features like the 2x bottom trays from the main area, top fan/rad mount and front fan/rad mount. The entire main motherboard area can be removed/rotated.
    A 58mm thick 480mm radiator with push/pull fans installed at the front, top, and a 480mm at the bottom of the main area can be installed without anything else changed. Then you can get a 480mm 58mm thick rad in the bottom compartment. 24 fans, 4x 480mm radiators, and a reservoir can be mounted easily in a single system.

    If it had the ability to change the motherboard to an inverted layout I’d buy right now! This second!

  • @roddybrod
    @roddybrod 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really love my dual system build. Thing that I see every DS case getting wrong though is the layout; I'm using the Enthoo Mini XL which has mATX + mITX setup with both of them vertically mounted, mITX above mATX. It makes it so there's a much more reasonable looking main compartment and the mITX can have an actual cooler and GPU instead of the other version where the mITX lays flat and has no room for a good cooler or dGPU.

    Dual system for me. Gaming on one side, server/ plex on the other. But i bet that case is hugely expensive.. but likely cheaper than the Corsair dual system case.

    Man that's gotta be at least as big as my SMA-8. Loved the builds you did with that, Jay, so had to get one. So many options with this case though! Great review.

    With all the radiator space, I'd like to see how much of a system you could build in it and passively water cool it without fans.

  • @titan5535
    @titan5535 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was lucky enough to track down an original V3000 and went dual loop and was actually able to mount a 120mm Rad on the rear exhaust as well so total of 4 rads in it. most amazing case I've ever built in and love all the capabilities it has.

    I think Lian Li is coming out with fan group extension cables for the SL120 V2 fans! I see some on AliExpress. I do not see them on Lian Li website yet though. I did read somewhere that they are coming though due to the large amount of feedback advising cables are too short for high-end builds. Lian Li is pretty responsive to the fanbase! C'Mon Jay, you KNOW you want to do your next ultimate build in this case...and we WANT to see it!
