My theory on why coffee shops help with focus: - At home it can sometimes feel like there are many distractions nearby, or the feeling that there are other things to tend to, and being away helps since it puts you in an environment where dealing with those things is not a possibility. - Sitting at home makes one subconsciously feel FOMO, that the world outside is passing them by. Being in public, among people, eliminates this feeling.
