    I followed the whole series, so its really cool to see all the highlights in one video. The series even got my dad interested in swaping a 2.5 into his NC.
    Love the videos, I hope you continue to enjoy making them.

    Hey man, Russ Dermott here. I’m a vehicle tech by trade in the uk and your Miata is somewhat of an inspiration to me. Incredible work changing to the 2.5L, really well done.

    Man, what a great cap to put on the build process. Now I hope you're getting to enjoy it! I commented a few vids ago that you were the inspiration for me to do this same swap on my 2009 Focus. I ended up $6,500 deep in my build, but that was because I also did an all-new clutch kit, CV axles and some others. No regrets at all though. Really enjoyed this series, it was also super handy as a cross-reference for my build. If I was in your area I would have loved to meet up and compare builds! Godspeed brother, you rock! Keep the vids coming :)

      @@ColoredinLight Sure! Bummer we can't meet up, but you can check my channel for a couple clips of my exhaust/0-60 if you want, and I'll attach the link to my build thread on the Focus forums, which is the extent to which I documented my build. Happy Saturday!

    I'm guessing its putting out about 200 horses at the wheels? BBR in the uk do a 225 package with ITB's that puts out about 200 at the wheels so I guess I'm asking why would you put a 2.5 engine in as opposed to going with the 225 package from BBR?

    Hey mate one quick question for the 2.5 motor. Is it affecting the cars weight distribution and balance and what are other big cons of the swap? Thank you in advance

    • @ColoredinLight
      @ColoredinLight  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Any weight difference is negligible, I don't really think there are any cons I could tell you besides cost. The rev range is a little different. Idk, really comes down to personal preference on what you're comfortable doing.

      they have to remove the balance shaft(s) so vibration is noticeable and some don't like it much from what i read.

    I am just finishing up my 2.5 swap had a 2.3 but it jumped time one morning so went with the 2.5 because how cheap they are and more horseys lol I’ve been working on it slowly I just want to get it running then I’ll be happier to put more money into it. I plan on sticking n/a and eventually get another motor and some h beam rods and build that head so it’ll be a easy switch over thing is idk how to tune and I don’t know anyone close

    Hey Jackson, this is fantastic to see! I have an NC1 and am interested in doing my homework to decide if this is something I realistically want to take on. Are there any resources you would recommend besides generally browsing the Miata forum and reading the Walter Motorsports article? Any guidance would be appreciated!

    • @ColoredinLight
      @ColoredinLight  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would join the NC 2.5 Facebook group. Just be careful not to ask any questions before using the search bar. It's a very, uh, tight knit group.

    Is the 2.5 as smooth revving as the 2.0? I’ve read some people say that the 2.5 revs like a truck engine. Would you say that’s the case? What’s the redline in the 2.5?
    Great video!

    • @ColoredinLight

      I don't have a normal 2.5 since I have a cam in it. Revs fine and drives fine in my opinion.

      If you remove the balance shaft out of the D25 you might experience some vibrations at idle, once you start driving it vibrations are gone. Very smooth engine at speed
