Very impressive, Jackson! You're an inspiration and I think very brave for making such a major mod on your own. When you've driven this for a while - supercharger?! :-) All the best, Rob in Switzerland
My question is ,do you lose some throttle response and lose a bit of redline? Since these cars are very light, the throttle response is all important. A built itb high compression motor is probably more trackable than high torque but slower revving engine. What do the circuit, autocross guys think? Is the 2.5 or 2.0 better in this regard. I know that in the UK with the kit cars, lotus seven, caterhams etc, there is a 2.4hybrid that is well liked. Shorter stroke with 2.5 bore?btw congratulations on getting the swap completed , well done.
I believe you do sacrifice a bit of redline, with a mild cam you're at 7000 if not less. I havent heard about complains about throttle response though. The point about 2.5 swap is much better TORQUE, which makes the car faster out of the corner. There are options though, if you want a full out race engine and rev the shit out of the car, you can do agressive cam, upgraded valve spring, high cr piston etc to raise the redline up to 8000rpm, but thats a totally different story since we will be talking about a race car, not a street car anymore.
@@koawang0609 its a great vid, there's two I've seen of him. Amazing what a well sorted car with an awesome driver can do .My plan is the 2.5 at some point in the future, with a view to turbo ultimately.
Turbo should cost you a whole lot more than 2.5 swap if you go about it properly. There is really no reason to compare them. The 2.5 swap is the best option if you want a budget build faster miata.
This came up in my recommended feed, even TH-cam wants me to get an NC
The TH-cam gods have spoken

I want to put a 2.5 with a rotrex supercharger in my NC. Hoping to be somewhere around 270 or 280 horsepower
Displacement always good for torque. Will be nice to see some times soon :)

thanks for video
That’s legit it sounds like, the engines power comes on strong, not necessarily top speed, but get up.
any drone with the roadster sport 2 exhaust?
With just the muffler you'll be fine
Are you going to switch out the tail lights anytime or just stay with the bulbs you installed? tinted would look sick
I dont have any plans currently to mess with the tail lights, maybe in the future!
How much power does this make
Probably like a million crank hp
But honestly I'm not sure yet. Most people are pushing close to 200hp

As for circuit, that really depends what kind of circuit u running, as far as I know, the fastest NC on Nurburgring is still running remapped 2.0 NA.
