I had a male Great Dane that lived for 15 years, he was fully intact and also was on healthy wholesome food, fresh meat, organs. He was healthy as a horse and happy. He was also never over vaxed either. He peacefully passed away from an old age.. ❤

I am ready to start a channel on pushing vets to get educatedofor the health of the dogs. The US has the biggest population of needless spay and neutering, and the larger breeds like the German Shepherds are prone to all kinds of genetic diseases, as it is ! This is a shame! They are magnificent, intelligent, and heroic dogs, and they are getting genetically weaker! We are losing this incredible breed, one of the most well revered working heroes! Thanks for all you both do!

My dog was neutered at 6 months old, he was my first dog the vet said I had to, he's now 14 but after being neutered he then had dog aggression and really bad flank alopecia. After reading up about the alopecia it's all linked to hormones. I will never get another dog spayed or neutered unless absolutely necessary

My lab blew his knee out at fifteen months old, and I fixed him at six months. My malamu is Intact and people are trying to pressure me into fixing him because they stupidly think his aggression will magically be fifth solved. But the thing is, he's terrified of everything, so I'm supposed to take away the hormone that gives him confidence. No thanks

I adore you both, and I'm actually rereading the forever dog ! I've read your other books too, I am lucky to have found the forever dog life in the library, and im now currently reading both! ❤❤ I have been wanting to do the hormone replacement for my German Shepherd male who was neutered in his 11 month. I don't know how to come up with enough money because I have auto-immune arthritis from lyme disease, and I'm on disability and my issue is can't be treated because of insurance won't cover chronic lyme disease! 15 years of suffering, and it's just so wrong!

My vet told me my dog has one testicle. She also said if I didn't neuter him it could cause a tumor. To this day he hasn't been neutered. He's fine.

So few talk about this subject. An old school Vet once told me, he only sees joint problems in neutered dogs, not in the intact ones. There are Vets that do vascectomies and tube ligation for sterilization that leaves hormones intact for health benefits.

I didn't even finish what I was going to say so yes now I have Lyme disease but the reason why he was neutered he only had one testicle that dropped! they wanted to neuter him at 5 and 1/2 months! I wasn't going to neuter him at all or at least not until he was fully grown after 2 years of age. The veterinarian kept on pushing me telling me that he is going to have complications he could get testicle torsion she started to scare me! At 11 and a half months I had to get it done or I was going to have to pay for an expensive surgery they wouldn't have covered it under his insurance because it's a lot bigger surgery when the testicle is way up down in the leg or wherever it may be! So the vet recommended that it be done right away and that made the insurance companies want him to get it done he was 11 months! About almost a year after getting it done I started to notice that he was getting muscle pulls and his limp would shift almost like you couldn't tell which leg it was actually. They kept telling me to rest him and not let him do anything for like 3 weeks but he wasn't getting better so I had hip X-Rays done then they found nothing but I demanded to see a physical therapist and she found that it started to atrophy a little bit and he had a minor scar tissue the inside of his leg near the groin! The Sports Medicine doctor thought maybe he had fibrotic myopathy starting but he was just two years old! Now he is 5 and I'm noticing that when he lifts one of his legs his Hawk would almost turned in and he'd almost lose his balance 15:35 sometimes turn in and he'll like almost like he's going to fall but then he wouldn't he would just kind of like wouldn't be able to keep the leg up for that long because he it would start to turn like he was going to lose his step. he'll just lift it up a little sometimes instead cocking his leg completely! anyway he's starting to show weakness like in almost like he's got sensitivity in his back and it's very sad because he only just turned five! His insurance was doing nothing they were always referring back to the old injury so I dropped it thinking I would just save the money every month but I haven't been able to work anymore because the Lyme disease is getting so unbearable and now I'm on disability 😢it's sad! I wish I never did this to him I wish I never let that doctor convince me to neuter him

I have a cockapoo who is not neutered. He is now 2 years old. He doesn't hump, has a calm temperament, and does not show any kind of aggression towards other dogs. Everytime we go to the dog park, it is the neutered ones who keeps bullying him and pushing his boundaries like trying to hump him, bark at him or sometimes these dogs assert their dominance by pushing him or even trying to put him in a submissive position. Most of the time he would correct the young ones (puppies) and setting his boundaries by barking at the big ones who would try him but won't hurt them in any way. His most concern at the dog park is to play ball with me and even shares the ball with the other dogs trying to get them to play. But some of these neutered ones who bullies him are becoming annoying now and it goes to show neutering won't really solve any kind of behavioral issues of some dogs.

My dog just turned 3 years old and despite the ire of my veterinarians, I am not going to have him neutered-- He is healthy, lean and beautiful and no behavior "problems". Intact male and female dogs, statistically speaking, have better longevity, maintain a normal weight and are less prone to endocrine problems.

I have two 6 month old female basset hounds and I am concerned about when to spay them. I found a vet about 3 hours from my home that does the ovary sparing spaying. I know it’s a far trip but I think they will benefit more from the correct spaying then them being in the car that long. At what age is spaying them like this is best? Should I wait till after their first heat? Thanks so much. ❤

Have a 4.5 year old vizla cross male- fully intact- super friendly with people and fixed dogs - every now and then he will run into another intact male and they both will try to dominate - my dogs wiser now and doesn’t push for the fight as much but he still has his brawls where it can not be avoided - he mounts any dog that lets him- I usually take him to less crowded spots and it works fine- Yes my walks are not as relaxed as they can be but i also know its about him not me - Hes very forward and confident and desexing him at 4,5 years old i feel will leave him with a huge contrast in how he feels in his day to day life and who cares after that if he stops mounting other dogs if hes just gona be left feeling super insecure and on the edge because of how vastly different it will be for him having testosterone for all his life and all of sudden having zero 🤷🏽‍♂️

We got our four year old dog when she was only nine weeks old and had already been spayed from the humane society.
She had her first knee surgery at 2 years, we have been trying to keep her from getting the other one. Because it was so invasive and difficult for her.
She weighs about 70 pounds. And I've had the worst time trying to get weight off of her. When I feed her fresh food at two percent of her ideal body weight about sixty pounds, she seems to not lose weight and possibly gain. Please help in any way possible

Please help!! My 15 month Yorkie is scheduled to be neutered 10/10. Only because one of his testicles didn’t drop, the one that didn’t drop moves into the penis part causing him pain, along with dam stick fleas, and a bunch of scabs on his body, vets are what you say they don’t give a diagnosis they assume an give medication, watching you an other videos I come to conclusion that when this started I took him to get dipped , they put the one on his back I said not working they dipped him within a few months time , I had no idea this was so bad for him till I seen him get sick, his immune system is very low. He’s only 5 pounds. I’m at a loss. I don’t know what to do.
