Hey, just pitching in here for the XY Screen. I purchased the 120" ALR PET Crystal in April '21 and my screen is paired with a LSP9T. I got a frame with a warped upper frame and particularly the top right corner. After talking to support, their suggestion was to try and bend it back myself... Or to move the projector further to the screen, loosing some screen realestate, but moving the image as much as possible from the warped corner... I think we can all agree that both suggestions are lackluster at best. I learned to live with it, albeit being really annoyed at it when watching full screen content. Today I went to watch a show and to my surprice, the whole screen is now wavy and it looks like the screen fabric has stretched where the springs are hooked in. We are in the start of summer here, with temps reaching 25 degrees celcius for a few days now, but nothing crazy and I don't expect us to see much higher temperatures than that, but the screen is completely useless now with distortions all over the image. With my current experience, I can't recommend XYScreens to anyone looking for a serious projector UST setup. And I'll be looking for a replaciment.... For images of my issue: www.avsforum.com/threads/xyscreen-comparison-review.3005728/post-60824906
Thanks for sharing, things can happen but the lack of taking responsibility and help sort out a replacement is exactly reason to avoid a company. Pity.
Great video. Thank you for showing how the screen looks through most of your video. For some reason a lot of people seem to show themselves talking for the majority of the video instead of showing what the screen/projector can do. No offense to them but I don't want to look at them talking lol, I want to see what they are talking about. Anyways I really want a 150" screen for when I do get an UST, however, it seems they do not make ALR/CLR for them. So with the screen you have that has some ALR qualities, how wash out does it look with the blinds open? You can't really tell on your video. At 4:07 mark it looks ok to me. It doesn't look crazy wash out. It seems the scene on the screen on the left is a different time of day than the one on the right.
Thanks for the video. I'm purchasing the VAVA Chroma and will be placing it on a 19" cabinet. I think that means the screen projection will start at 35.5" from the floor (19"+16.5 throw) and ends about 1' from my 10' ceiling. But I'm wondering about best choices for a center speaker. Rather than in the open center of my 19" cabinet, I could place it in the wall with the speaker grid under 35.5". Does that make sense, and did you come up any other good solution for your center speaker?
Where can i get a stand just like you, my upstair gameroom is is only 5,8 ft the ceiling is curves at the top so i can only mount an 100 inch screen and i need that low stand to put the projector on. Thanks
I recently got one of these screens. Mine has vertical ripples along the top and bottom edges of the screen. I was wondering if you had this problem and if so how you solved it. Thanks
Yes, I did have ripples along top and bottom. I took the screen down and redid everything. Ipulled the screen material and placed the stronger springs in starting from the middle. I pulled the screen material out from the middle to the corners and angled the springs so there would be more pull. When strong springs ran out, I doubled the regular springs for more torque. Just make sure everything is evenly pulled tight as springs are secured. All my waves were gone after that.
So the pet grid is not as good as the pet crystal? I want 150 inches too for my wemax nova; if you contact the company directly how is price different vs AliExpress?
Technically you can, but there are things to consider for this. Here is some information on ceiling mounting ust projectors that I found helpful: www.avsforum.com/threads/ultra-short-throw-ust-ceiling-mount-with-alr.3078452/

I did do a side by side comparison in this video. The image will in fact look washed out in brightly lit rooms or daylight viewing as mentioned in this video.
