I would totally buy this truck. I own an element which I feel is similar. It breaks all of the stereotypes of what a car should be and it’s incredibly practical and reliable.

People always talk about how the Ridgeline isn't a truck or its not worth the price. However, on base model Ridgelines, you'll get a lot more tech & features than other trucks. Also, it is more of a comfortable, luxurious truck. If you like "manly" trucks than you might not dig the Ridgeline, but people shouldn't knock it until they've driven it. It's really amazing.
It's basically a SUV with a truck bed, and cost more while being less capable of doing truck things than the rest of the midsize segment, that's why truck buyers don't care for it.
@@DragonKnightX12 Most truck drivers never do "truck things" with a midsize. If you need to tow, go fullsize. If you need to climb dirt roads up a mountain in West Virginia, get an off-road design. It isn't "less-capable", it is actually more capable for what most midsize truck buyers do, which is drive around, and this truck does the "driving thing" literally better than any other truck, large or small.
fr8fr6dr Actually I see quite people and businesses using midsize trucks for work.
It’s a lot more practical for people that are just pulling along lawn and gardening equipment or some tools and parts for plumbing or electrical work.
Most truck drivers in general don’t use it for work midsize or full-size.
But Americans also tend to be purist.
Just like Muscle car guys want a manual tranny and V8, a lot of truck guys want a big burly Body-on-frame truck with a powerful motor.
A lot of them also only buy American makes.
The Colorado fits the bill, it’s got plenty of power.
Taco gets a pass because of the legendary reliability and it’s the second most popular vehicle for off-road use after Jeep’s Wrangler.
fr8fr6dr The Ridgeline is a comfortable ride but it lacks power and mpg is not really that much better.
It’s also a Unibody with AWD, truck guys don’t consider it a real truck because it’s basically a pilot with a bed.
Problem I see is it’s a “truck” designed more for daily driving but other than the comfortable ride there’s really nothing else to it. The tailgate is a gimmick.
It’s also no longer the most comfortable and best ride, Ram took that with the 2019 1500.
The Ridgeline is slug compared to even the Big 3’s half-tons, and honestly the exterior isn’t exciting at all it looks a vehicle for old people that can’t handle a “real truck” anymore. It’s missing the fun factor.
Honda should get away it from the pilot and give it a sportier look like the Civic and give it the Accord’s drivetrain, handling, and interior
Hyundai is trying the same thing but the Santa Cruz actually looks Pretty cool and sporty. If they have the drivetrain and handling to match that exterior it will hit harder than the Ridgeline.

I guarantee more than half the folks on the comments don't have features this truck has. Everyone can call it whatever, but most on here aren't pulling more than 5,000-pound loads daily, using their beds for hefty payloads every day. Oddly enough I think this is a more practical truck for everyday use. Most owners will probably put different wheels on it, lift it a bit, just like what people have done with other brands. seems like a winner in my book & I generally like F-150s.

Most "Real Truck" owners never get their trucks dirty, take it off road, use it as a work truck or tow anything. It's just the bravado of owning a "truck" I think we all know this. Get the truck that does 100% of what you need it to do, not 10% of what you "might do."
There were some things I liked about the Tacoma and Ranger, niether hit all the general requirements I was looking for. The Ridgeline is the best purpose built truck for most truck owners. If you really go off road get a Tacoma. Need to tow a 5th wheel get a F250. It's a really good truck for long trips and has towed motorcycles, as well as U-Pack containers from U-Haul.

I have been an engine machinist for about 32 years. I redo a pretty good amount of heads from Ridgelines, the valve guides wear prematurely.
Randy Jackson that toyota v6 is indestructible. The 3.4, 3.5 and the 4.0 are all excellent engines. Even the 4.6, 4.7, 5.0(lexus only) and 5.7 v8’s they have are pretty damn bulletproof. Toyota makes excellent engines my friend.

@@heartcomedy5 with a soft top yes it can be noisy, that's why there's a hard top with insulated headliner if you desire less noise. But that's a small negative from being able to take the doors and top off with a foldable windshield and does a much better job offroading than this Honda...The new wranglers are far from a rough ride so the gladiator will be even more comfortable since it has a longer wheel base.

This is more for a city/suburbs/freeway/daily commute type of truck. If I wanted a work/off road truck, I’d look somewhere else. But from what I see living in the city, most truck owners would benefit more from this type (if you take testosterone out of the equation anyway).

The speakers in the bed, combined with the in-bed trunk (which can be used as a cooler), and the 150-400 Watt power outlet on the truck bed makes this the ULTIMATE tailgating truck.
ok. i thought that maybe this enhanced sound quality inside the truck somehow. I have a 2013 ridgeline rtl with navi but was thinking about upgrading to the newer body styles. I was hoping for more features but it seems that there is not that much difference...other than a new screen (i installed remote start aftermarket)

Notice how Honda didn't show the interior dashboard in this ad - and for good reason. I really like just about everything about this Honda truck. But I don't want to pay extra for speakers in the bed??? I will never use that. The steering wheel is very nice but the dashboard design/controls, displays are pretty bad.. Don't look nice either. .. wish Honda would have went with a basic traditional dashboard.. with traditional tachometer, speedometer, large knobs, etc.... The dash/controls are really weird, strange and unattractive. When driving you spend so much time looking at the dashboard and using the controls when driving - it is a shame Honda go with a much more traditional design. Oh, one more thing that I did NOT like on the Honda is the electronic shifter. At least you can still get a traditional shifter in the lower level Ridgeline. Same thing that I mentioned can be said for the Pilot.. Again the Ridgeline and Pilot look great and but both unfortunately have the exact same bad interior dashboard/control design.

I agree! I liked the imprints, chiseled facets, corners and angles on the body design on the original models. It had a look to it that said masculinity! Now the new models are all curvy and smooth looking. Daggone feminism! lol

Yeah well hook your black edition reidgeline up to my 36' camper trailer your top speed would be in the 40's before your transmission started smelling like smoke then failed. MY wife is the one with the loaded Ridgeline truck with over sized 18" rims and tires , running boards, roof rack and a nice truck bed Tonneau Cover.

My King ranch truck is pretty nice with heated leather seats smokes glass aftermarket stereo killer BUCKSTOP front Bumper with 12000 lb winch that will withstand hitting an elk at 60 MPH and truck bed locking tool box.

I would suggest that you know more about your product before you speak about it. For example, you didn't know what the interior color was called. Also, this is not a comparison video to your Ford truck. It is about the ONE vehicle that you are reviewing, the HD Chevy Silverado.
GM sucks !!! I was a big fan of gm. I bought a new 2015 gmc Sierra fully loaded for $52k. Well this trck was in the shop every 6 months. Look at all the TH-cam videos of all the problems gm trucks have. I'm buying a Toyota, nissan or honda ridgeline. I'm done with GM trucks. American trcks used to be built good. Not anymore.

@@benhuang2773 most "real truck" owners here in the US who makes fun and comments negatively on the Ridgeline doesn't used their trucks to it's potential or as designed. They baby it, put big tires and high lifts, and even smoke stacks. They only like the look but they're nothing but pavement princesses. The Ridgeline does 30+ mpg on the freeway with the AWD between 60-65 mph. They say it's expensive but when you see the others, they dont even come with 4 doors, power rear window, keyless entry or ignition, and array of safety features. The Ridgeline isn't the traditional body on frame truck but it has its use and smooth ride. It will outlast any of the american brands. Btw, you can't compare your kenworth to a ranger lol. You can't use your kenworth at the farm lol.

The Ridgeline is basically a minivan with a truck bed. If you want more of a car feel, get a Ridgeline. You can't get true 4WD on **any** of the Ridgelines. Honda's AWD performs really badly compared to any 4WD system, often not kicking in to help you until its too late. I had a 2013 Ridgline, liked it for the most part, mice got in the engine compartment, then easily got in the passenger compartment, I traded it in for a 2014 F150, no mice, not as user friendly as the Ridgeline, but....., life can be a trade off at times.

MisterLifter Rams are nice trucks and are a lot cheaper than a Chevy, really you couldn't go wrong with either. Anyways, remember the old joke, "the first thing to blow out on a dodge is the transmission."

O want to se this “truck” handle my everyday job I’m mobile mechanic and I drove 700 miles per week with engines transmission cherry picker jacks stands and 4 pounds of tools all in my 96 Tacoma extra cab. There’s not better truck for the job,
