In this video I listen/react to Helloween for the first time.
This band has been highly requested on this channel and these guys did not disapoint. This band is 100% solid.

FATHERS of Power Metal! I was 15 years old when their first LP came out, man I wore that record down.
The singer Michael Kiske was only 17 years when recruited to Helloween.
30+ years later he still sounds amazing

But be sure to include "Invitation" with "Eagle Fly Free"!! Those little intro tracks can set the mood perfectly!

DUUUUUUUDE ! Thank you so much for reacting to my favorite band ! Helloween are from Germany, they are amazing and their music is very energetic, melodic, heavy and versatile. The European scene would have never been of that quality without them. They have had lots of line up changes, but never compromised their music
Keeper of the seven keys, this is pt1 is their second album, there is part 2 as well, they were released in 1987 and 1988 respectively.
Their debut album is Walls of Jericho and it’s very very heavy.
If you are interested, “Eagle fly free”, Ride the Sky” or the 13 minute epic - title track “Keeper of the seven keys” would be good starters

The pionneers of power metal !The first album was Wall of Jericho . It was with the singer Kai Hansen from GammaRay !
Yeah, if you not consider the EP Helloween their first album, at lest Walls of Jericho is their first full album! And yes, they created a unique new sound at their time, I would call it a mixture of Power and Speed Metal.
By the way, Kai Hansen is also one of the guitar players and main composers still on this album! Later he left the band and formed Gamma Ray. But nonetheless Helloween became on of the most influential bands, even up to nowadays power metal bands! These guys are legend!

Helloween is the real deal. They solidified power metal as its own genre. Btw Michael Kiske, the singer, was on that Edguy track you did a few months back "Judas at the Opera".. doing the choruses. And Edguy's frontman / songwriter Tobias Sammet's other band Avantasia has a lot of tracks with Kiske.

Hello my friend. Helloween is one of the biggest bands of the european metal. In my opinion the biggest in europe, of course if you except the giants Black sabbath, judas priest and Iron maiden

About 30 years ago now, I first head this song, and it changed my life completely.
I was still a junior high student back then, but I realised that I wasn't really alive ... I was living like a dead. They gave me a lot of positive power and hopes.

As far as Helloween goes, it's just a basic radio oriented song, probabky my least favorite from the Keeper albums.. Still a good one, but they have so much better.

Best vocal in world for me I was 14 when I listening this album and was and is still great
Helloween had 3 singers along their history : Kai Hansen ( lead guitar co-founder) ; Michael Kiske ( he returned to the band recently) ; Andi Deris ( the Kiske's substitute, but still there). So, they have 2 lead singers, and 1 borrowing it sometimes, at the moment. Perhaps the only rock/heavy metal band in the world, with this kind of line up.

Helloween is an interesting band, because they reinvented themselves time after time.
The first mini-LP and album were almost Thrash Metal, then they invented Power Metal with the Keepers albums, then tere was a kind of hard rock album, a progressive, then Heavy Metal, Power Metal again, to be folowed by a Progressive Metal album (Better than raw), to be followed by a Dark Power Metal album (The Dark Ride) and so on...
They've had 3 singers. Now they are back in the studios with all 3 singers. I'm excited.

The lead singer's name is Michael Kiske. Yes, you should check out the whole album. It's all very good. There aren't any bad tracks on here. Their follow up album, "Keeper of the Seven Keys, Part 2 is very good too, Actually they originally planned to release both albums as one double album but for some reason, the record label decided to release them separately.
Helloween were the pioneers of "power metal". Very uplifting!

Keeper of the Seven Keys I is their second full length album. Their debut is much heavier than this. The lead vocalist, Michael Kiske, hadn't been part of the band, yet. Wall of Jericho was the first album if you exclude their mini album Helloween which was the first. Walls of Jericho is very thrashy, but if you like Metallica, especially songs like Whiplash or Fight Fire With Fire then you would like it as well. If you want to listen to a song off their first full-length album Walls of Jericho, I recommend you Walls of Jericho/Ride the Sky. Walls of Jericho is an intro just like Initiation which leads to Ride the Sky.

This band has many great songs. Off of the Straight Out Of Hell album, Waiting For The Thunder I think you'll like it.

Starting with 'Victim of Fate', 'Starlight' or 'Ride the Sky' would be fine. Kai Hansen rules. Though if you really liked Michael Kiske, the singer in this one, 'Future World' or 'Halloween' would be some great stuff to go with.

I've only heard a few songs from Helloween, but each 1, I thought sounded very similar 2 Iron Maiden. Almost like a Maiden cover band, but they do sound good

depends on what you like..... pre keeper records is thrash metal, keeper records are more power metal and post them I have no idea since I moved on to other bands after that.
