Love my smitty built hard shell ! But I found out this last weekend that it is probably the worst choice for camping in heavy wind . The awnings are like giant sails , if you try to put them down they’ll pop and slap all night. With that said I will not be replacing it,I love it and I’m currently working on a fix for the problem, until then I will just watch the weather report a little closer 👍🏻
Great list, something to think about if you are debating pop up vs clamshell... If you plan on actually doing some winter camping be mindful of your storms, I live in Montana and lost my first popup due to snow accumulation overnight, it just raised correctly again, obviously a clamshell is better suited in that situation

I didn’t the the thumbnail photo used in this video. I was looking into it before and the one on the photo is the MT hood and it’s priced at $3500-$4000. A bit misleading.
@@64dejones I have a soft shell RTT from Front Runner I bought a few years ago that I was gonna sell and get a clam shell style, but I’ve reconsidered now that they keep jacking up prices.
