Just did my first ride and the MTB Gods smiled on me as I cleaned the whole uphill switchback section while a huge Steer looked on unimpressed! 61 using only ECO mode for the whole 28 miles including Wild Horse. What a Trail!

G'job on this trail... especially the Map 3D overview.

Awesome video! good thing I found your video. I will be going to Palm Canyon next week for the first time. Very informative, this helps me a lot. Thanks

You are welcome. I'm hoping to get back out there soon. Bring lots of water and save some energy for the Sand Wash climb. I haven't really covered that part yet (soon) and it's a brutal climb for almost everyone. Keep those two things in mind and you'll have a great ride.

@@outofshapemountainbikersne4243 Nice, and thank you I am 54 years old. Thanks for the heads up! I am on the 4th segment of you video. I enjoy watching it.

Cool! I always look forward to your content. All the info about the trails, elevation, etc. Very informative. I liked the comment about toning it down on the exposure sections.... We do have to be very careful at our age lol...so many riders just bomb trails all the time. I have always felt that slowing down and enjoying the view is what trail riding is all about. Enjoy the ride. :)

Thank you! And great point as well! The next section will really drive home that goal of enjoying the natural beauty of this area as the trail slows down and meanders through a literal oasis in the hidden River Valley zone.

Great videos! Are you doing any guiding the second half of next month?

I could do it for SART/Wildhorse in that time frame. Palm Canyon season is late fall through early spring. Once the temps are the mid 80s out there it's time to ride elsewhere.

@@outofshapemountainbikersne4243 Yeah, that was the concern for the group the heat

@@pepsnex For sure. People die out there in the summer months. It only takes one thing to go wrong and you're in a survival situation in that heat. No water source, little shade and the only way out is by foot, bike or copter. Not worth it when you can run something high altitude under the trees. If you have a decent group, I can probably arrange a shuttle for a Wildhorse drop just outside of Big Bear. Just as epic minus all the possibility of death by dehydration.

@@outofshapemountainbikersne4243 Understood. Yeah, we don't want to die ....we just wanna play bikes for now. Let me get with my group and get back to you on that. I moved our potential date for Palm Canyon to 12/4 so we'll keep you posted
