So guys. Here we are. The method has been nerfed. Sources tell me its 500 kills to complete the mission now. What did i try to tell you guys? I told you it was going to get nerfed one way or another. Yet again i was right while the whole community tried to talk crap. Now people are probably going to say "Why are you still here it has been 2 weeks, move on".
"Hi yes, I leveled all the way to level 50 using this method and now I want it nerfed so no one can get to this level fast like me." That's honestly how it initially comes off.
"I abused the mortars to get to 50. Arrowhead, you need to take out the mortars right now. Don't let anyone else do this. They are abusing this like I did and it's not right"
If people want to waste their time farming levels instead of focusing on things that actually help, let them. We can laugh at them together as they sit 30 levels higher then they need to be without any of the upgrades.
They need to just increase the amount of medals you get for consecutive missions to encourage people to finish the operation. On helldive 8-11-14 is just not worth the headache for the second two especially when one is retrieve personnel and you could be getting 8 every 3 minutes. When the last warbond page alone is almost 600 medals, people will choose this over grinding 5 hours for each unlock.

This isn't competitive. It's PvE. If there's an overly effecient way to play, that's fine. It doesn't negatively affect anyone. That's all that needs said.

First off the motors are fine. Second you are a hypocrite. Third it doesn't destroy the objective of the game. Everyone plays the game how they want to. Mortars have nothing to do with the mission and difficulty, its the difficulty that gives you the exp. The game is setup in a way where its possible to farm, If you wish for a solution then give a variable drop zones for the enemies. Stratagems, don't necessarily need to be touched. Only those who have hit failures like 500kg bomb. If you're upset about how quickly you levelled then that's a you problem.

Changing mortars won't change much really, They just need to change where the drop and make the bots drop in other areas instead of the constant same. So due to the. same constant drop locations its easy to farm. Hence they just need to change the drop locations. Not necessarily the mortars, Since an ems can't constantly the same areas the AOE will end up getting cancelled quicker.

So it would be possible, However that os the reward you get for going to a harser difficulty. Mortars are situational to mostly escort, eradicates and general defense missions, so use isn't high outside of those missions. then its the railcannon and shield. So, its very different situation to use everything. and since the spear only has a total of 4 rockets, But can't one shot tanks from a top town. ems would be better for a temp stun to be able to destroy it. it's why its so efficient, And its why its used. so instead of nerfing the mortars, Why not buff everything else?

Most of my friends and I don't even play efficiently, we play for fun doing different missions and OH MY, enjoying the game.

I think the fix could be to make it a 40 min mission to like the mission where you escort scientist (those missions have a 15 minute in game time but since its a 40 minute mission from the war planning it spawns the enemies that would be in those 40 min missions). The Mortars will eventually run out of ammo if they increase the amount of enemies that are needed to extract too if you don't upgrade the modules. In my opinion that would be a good fix to stop players for just abusing it but also make the mission still doable and fun without having to nerf the mortar outright.
You've missed the forest for the trees to such a degree it is utterly staggering. Because mortars aren't the problem no matter how many times you want to reply to comments with 'Its called a mortar farm!' or such. When you can routinely throw a single grenade on those missions and get ten kills, you could remove mortars and it would STILL be the fastest farm by a mile for everything but samples and super credits. Groups would just start spamming recoilless rifles, grenade launchers, autocannons, etc, and racking up the kills almost as fast. So should those be removed too? No. The mission is the problem, so you fix it by changing the mission. Right now they could remove ALL strategems and people could still complete it faster than every other mission type with just their drop pod loadouts.
Defense missions are not that hard anyway... My first helldive was a defense mission, which I completed without dying, without mortars, and with only a single other dude helping me. Also, if you are doing nothing but grinding defense missions, bro, go touch some grass. Go see your family. Go meet with friends. I do not envy the life of someone who plays games like this. Also, who cares how long it takes to get to level 50??? This is the dumbest thing to complain about... You unlock every stratagem at level 20, and the shield and rail aren't even the best against bots in the first place... Probably the best suggestion. Have a certain amount of time where you need to be on the mission and certain amount of kills in order to complete it
