Same i usualy have greens maxed out and am either maxed out on or in the 90s for the super samples. While still needing around 100-150 rare ones those are a pain to get
Dude I max out in like a day or 2 every single time I spend them all…. Just go get them. The rares make a sound, you can hear them if you’re near, so easy to find them.
They're a patrol now, like the gunships for the bots. They are only annoying though depending on your loadout. I really like the breaker incendiary, which takes out multiples of them in a single shot. I rely on stratagems for tankier enemies instead so it's a tradeoff for sure.
You don't "need" the supers. How about your team mates who are actually completing the mission? I grab all the samples I see even if I don't need them. Team mates probably do, and probably would appreciate you grabbing them.
Yeah selfish prick move if you ask me, but overall if its in a spot where you can't stand around with enemies chasing you it's reasonable to just go past them honestly

I personally find Rare samples to be the bottleneck. Common Samples can be obtained on Eradicate missions or Trivial, and you will usually find more Commons than Rares when playing "normally" on higher difficulties. Even SHD where there are technically more rares than commons (counting the special pickup), the Common samples are just easier to find so you usually come home with about 25 commons and 18 rares. While it's true you don't have to complete the mission, it's generally safer and more efficient if you do. If you hit the time limit you need to survive for 2-5 more minutes while Evac arrives with 0 extra lives or strategems, losing ALL your hard work if you die. That's a really big risk after you've spent 20 minutes to gather as many samples as possible.
The only sample farming guide you will ever need: Don't. There's no need to rush progression. This isn't a some mobile game with a competitive meta where you need to grind to be viable. In fact, ship upgrades apply to every player of a lobby as long as one person has it unlocked. Just focus on enjoying the game and pick up samples where you can, you'll get there eventually.
Even though it isnt the point, this video does a great job of displaying each and every problem I have with the bugs and why I hate them. They feel like they were designed specifically to be as infuriating as possible with the slowing effects, the attacks that always hit you even if you are sprinting directly away, and the flyer bodies that can and will instakill you if you happen to kill them while they are diving at you which is extremely hard to tell.
Fyi shotgun pistol is actually exceptional against flyers :) either wait for the dive or spray em down (which you're practically doing already) 2 good hits does it usually but with multiple pellets... Plus it staggers most other enemies so it's nearly always worth it.
i not sure if you know it, arrow head change it by some time. super samples can be collected even on lvl 6. it is 2, or 3, but still. it doesn't make to many sense, because of the colour management in the difficulty icon, but you can see it under the number in taktimap
If any of you are wondering why you struggle to get enough common samples yet are fine on rare and supers, it's because a lot of players literally just don't pick up common samples. I've walked behind people before and had to pick them up as they run right over them like they're trash haha

0:10 Don’t know what you talking about That mod is essential if you want to bring sentries to automaton missions. The rocket and autocannon sentries are insanely good if you get a good placement on them.
In the end, I still would just prefer more sentry health altogether (like the other upgrade). This would benefit against all factions. chargers still one shot sentries, making them hard to pick in higher difficulties because of the amount of them. I say this in the video because I never really notice them being exploded by rockets, (and to make funny joke).
My teammates just walk right over them all, and then I will have like 16 on me and my team will leave me trapped by giant robots and shit and then I die with them all..... Or one of them picks them up off my body and walks far asf away from the OBJ and die with them and thats 30+ mins of sample gathering gone.
Finally, some good information, if you could make a picture of it so to get summary, that would be really nice for the end or for the start of the video so we old people can’t print it out
I really hope they add a way to convert samples to higher tiers. I'd be happy to trade 100 commons for 1 rare. It doesn't remove time commitment but it'll stop you from being capped when chasing higher tier modules.
what I dont understand is the portions of samples that are used. For top tier upgrades its usually like 20-30% of max commons, 30% of max supers, and a whopping 80% of max rares, leaving me topped off of everything but rares. I really wish it would be lowered for just rare counts
I wish i had a team to help farm samples. Lol. Playing with randoms is the the typical outcome; they just want to rush the mission and extract asap. Like folks just snipe spore spewers and dont even bother going to pick up the samples. I usual end up back tracking and wasting time a lot just picking up samples they leave behind. Lol
Also finishing missions fast but safe with samples is also better than searching the whole map for 10 more samples. In that time you could clear a whole other mission. Just how I feel if you want to max the farming of ingame resources, but if you play for long enough you will get everything eventually.

terminids imo is better for just sprinting around due to limited ranged weapons on enemies but i find strongholds easier to deal with with bots due to field of view limitations from the bases themselves and raised weak points for the factories compared to bug holes so you can basically do more effective attacks clearing factories compared to bug holes.
the arc thrower is probably the best terminid weapon it clears the horeds so easily because of the stun and it bounces on the shreikers too, just run thermite for big mfs and you are set
I need rare samples so bad. It would be awesome to have a video exclusively on every rare sample spawn. I’ve been playing so much automation missions I’ve been trying to memorize each spawn at the different landmarks.
Keepin it real, i just exploited early and unlocked everything a few weeks in. Then just did regular play until i capped. Only had like 4 upgrades. Sadly they all cost like 200 damn rares. But with more then 20 per mission. Its easy to get in a few sittings.
yeah flyers were just from nests, then there was an effect added that there could be just be roaming packs of flyers, and now even without the effect they seem to be able to spawn normally, also i agree that their bodies shouldnt really be able to hurt you AFTER they die thought Bile Titans can also inflict damage on you when they ragdoll. ive seen plenty of teammates die to a ragdolling titan
I’m new to the game and I already see a solution to fighting the flyers. Machine gun/gatling sentries. Preferably the machine gun since it can cooldown quicker
I recommend people solo bots on level 5 for rares, as you can clear small bases and get 2 rares per base plus 2-3 at extraction, plus POIs. I prefer soloing blitzes at 6 or 7 though they can get hectic enough that I cant grab all the samples. Above that its too crazy to bother with samples by yourself. Bugs are fine too but often they keep you too mobile when alone. Of course having teammates helps all that but randoms are too random for me.
The rare samples should be halved. Makes no sense having them require 150 and 200. I have fucking infinite super samples which theoretically should be way harder to aquire and its always the fing rare samples bottlenecking me
Hosts should have a command that unlocks extraction I'm getting annoyed because last night all I had was team killers or mission kickers before you even start. Also not many are even bothering with samples I just got my 4th Orbital upgrade and I'm going for the 5th now. Eagles after but I don't use sentries they get smashed straight away
I suggest getting all upgrades up to tier 3 before going deeper in one, they are generally more useful for the price, tier 4 and 5 are insanely expensive and only a few are good. Also the turrets get waaaay better with upgrades. And as was said before place them better or place them before you're in combat and they perform much better. Basic mg sentry is my favorite as the cooldown is so short you can use him to pull aggro away from you
I haven't played for a lot of months but at difficulty 4 you can get rares and there's not alot of difference between diff 4 and 6. Pick a quick mission if you can. EAT for chargers should be enough, i don't remember what kind of things you have access at level 5 but that's pretty much all you need alongside eagles.
It used to be useless because sentries would be one-shot by any rocket. They've since buffed the sentries so the extra resistance to explosions is actually helpful, mostly against bots, like you said.

For Common samples, Eradicate missions have a fixed sample layout. Once you learn the locations, you can gather all 13 samples while completing the mission. It used to be faster when you could do Eradicate in less than 5 minutes, but now you will usually have larger windows to run around the map when there aren't any enemies present so it's easier to grab the samples. Also if you ever want to farm Super Credits, you can pick up a bunch of samples on Trivial and then finish the mission instead of quitting.. I wouldn't really recommend it generally but if commons are all you need it's an option. Definitely faster than farming for rare samples.
I'm fairly new and first of all i salute you all o7 I do have a question tho, i've seen more experienced players and whenever they bring the stratagems menu up their characters do not stop running while if do, my characters just stands still and i'm unable to walk wich makes things a bit harder if we're in the middle of a fight, how do i fix this? i only ever need rares nowadays. common samples are SOOOOO easy to find and accumulate. they are ALWAYS the ones you get the most of. for some reason, though, you need essentially the same amount of rares as commons for the ship upgrades, which I still don't understand given that rares are rarer and there are less of them in any given run. anyways, I don't actually know anybody who's struggling to find commons. like, at all. rares have always been the dookie head problem children of the samples. also, if you're gonna be sample farming on public, tell your teammates. "I'm sorry I'm not helping guys but I'm sample farming." just tell them. if they wanna sample farm too, they'll stay. if they wanna play the game normally without one of their teammates running amok and not helping anyone, then they'll go somewhere else.
Ive been running sentries in all my run and tbh that 50% really do some big difrence. Im not sure why ppl said it dont. Maybe some utube guy shot it few times n call it a wrap.. I think if team or urself shoot it down the 50% isnt applied, to avoid annoyance i guess. I mean, not all a fan of sentries.
You said you don’t have to complete the mission if you’re just going for samples. But if you don’t complete it, you can’t extract, and therefore don’t get the samples
They really need to bring new stuff to use with ur samples. Im maxed out like 2 months and I always try to get those samples for my other brothers on the battlefield (im lvl 121) but some brothers dont even care to Pick them up cause they maxxed out too. And the 1-2 players who needs them try their best to get them. Maybe buy colours for your armor with it or some weapon skins dont know.
the caps are annoying I am capped on credits, and the normal samples. I need more rare and extra rare ones and that is making me waste credits and normal samples basically just going over cap and nothing to use it on
I never understand why though. The side objectives literally add to the fun and bonus at the end of a mission, rushing is pointless in a game like this.

I remember going through the grind for the upgrades, I still pick up everything and risk my life for those samples for those who still work for it.

sentries died from explosion quite easy after this upgrade.. its useless)

if u struggling like that maybe should use scout armor or a medic armor and get experimental stims and somebody else to bring stamina booster.

IMO bot missions are easier to do quickly, but im fairly certain bug missions just have more POIs

I do have a question tho, i've seen more experienced players and whenever they bring the stratagems menu up their characters do not stop running while if do, my characters just stands still and i'm unable to walk wich makes things a bit harder if we're in the middle of a fight, how do i fix this? I guarantee they are using controller, i play with my friend, he uses kbm, i use controller, everytime he uses the stratagem menu he doesnt move, however i can

i only ever need rares nowadays. common samples are SOOOOO easy to find and accumulate. they are ALWAYS the ones you get the most of.
for some reason, though, you need essentially the same amount of rares as commons for the ship upgrades, which I still don't understand given that rares are rarer and there are less of them in any given run. anyways, I don't actually know anybody who's struggling to find commons. like, at all. rares have always been the dookie head problem children of the samples.
also, if you're gonna be sample farming on public, tell your teammates. "I'm sorry I'm not helping guys but I'm sample farming." just tell them. if they wanna sample farm too, they'll stay. if they wanna play the game normally without one of their teammates running amok and not helping anyone, then they'll go somewhere else.

Huh, I’ve had the opposite problem with common and rare samples. I’ve got a ton of common and super samples but I struggle with getting rare samples.

Ive been running sentries in all my run and tbh that 50% really do some big difrence. Im not sure why ppl said it dont. Maybe some utube guy shot it few times n call it a wrap..
I think if team or urself shoot it down the 50% isnt applied, to avoid annoyance i guess. I mean, not all a fan of sentries.

My question is, why Blitz? Isnt it smarter to farm samples on missions where there's more time to look for them?
Maps are generally smaller and have more samples on the nests/outposts rather than on poi sites in my experience

You said you don’t have to complete the mission if you’re just going for samples. But if you don’t complete it, you can’t extract, and therefore don’t get the samples
They really need to bring new stuff to use with ur samples. Im maxed out like 2 months and I always try to get those samples for my other brothers on the battlefield (im lvl 121) but some brothers dont even care to Pick them up cause they maxxed out too. And the 1-2 players who needs them try their best to get them.
Maybe buy colours for your armor with it or some weapon skins dont know.

the caps are annoying I am capped on credits, and the normal samples. I need more rare and extra rare ones and that is making me waste credits and normal samples basically just going over cap and nothing to use it on

I never understand why though. The side objectives literally add to the fun and bonus at the end of a mission, rushing is pointless in a game like this.

I actually Always Had teammates, randoms, which went for all the Side objektives Like Radios or nests. Rarely got Players who rush through.
