    Please share with us a time you had a bad experience in a restaurant and whether you went back to try it again!

      We always stop at Gallaghers, I know you aren't a fan. But one time we went and I wasn't happy, the Tomahawk ribeye wasn't my favorite, not cooked the way I like it, and I should have sent it back, but I didn't. we always had a great meal there, so next time in Vegas we went back to try it one more time, it was great that time, so we will continue to go back. Never tried Craft steak, so I will have to try it next time.

      A year ago a local high end restaurant opened by me in NY it was beautiful very pricey our meal was $700 for 4 no alcohol service was awful! Food was not cooked to what we asked for which ruined the experience the response by the servers was horrible! They never reached out and sad to say they are no longer there….

    Having worked for company back in the day for a total of 6 years (started as a cook then later moved up to sous chef) for Craftsteak, I was a little shocked with how the video opened up. The front of the house staff is one of the best serving staff I have worked with in my 19 years of working in the industry. I'm happy to hear they knocked it out of the park and not at all surprised of them comping your meal the second time. The company values all guest, whether it is a high roller, someone that does TH-cam reviews of restaurant or a couple celebrating a mile stone as a birthday or anniversary.
    Thank you also again for the wonderful review for Stripsteak (restaurant I work at currently). Chances are I cooked your steak that day.

    Oh my goodness. What a great video. First, I am very lucky to be able to read people and get a good feel on who they are. From the moment I started watching your vids, I knew how honest and respectable you two are. The fact that you ordered like you knew you'd be paying is absolutely amazing. Love that you still tipped as I know personally of some people who get comps and think they don't have to tip. That's just crazy. When stuff like that happens, I usually leave the tip behind. Rachel's face after that scallop bite was priceless!!! Thanks for another great one you two! Hoping you are in town during the next World Series of Poker. It runs 5/31 to 7/18 at Horseshoe Las Vegas! I'll be there everyday!

    I enjoy your videos so much...after I discovered you guys I am going back to the beginning and watching all of them! We are heading to Vegas in December for a record 11 days and 3 different hotels.....Mandalay Bay, Golden Nugget and Aria and making notes of food near each one from your videos! I am addicted to Jalapeno Margaritas!

      @@ShawnG978 Nice, that is what i think was the most unfortunate about the first meal, we were there for my (Josh) 40th so I picked some nice spots for friends to go with us and then to have the first meal be such a flop I just felt bad for them

    Great vid; was wondering what STRIP Casino has the most 3 reel old school slot machines (blazing 7s, double diamond, etc)?

      Interesting question. I would guess either MGM Grand or Caesars since they both have such massive casino floors. Hard to say though

    At first I was shocked, at the beginning of this video. I have dined at Craft steak 3 times, and the service was always on point.. But you are correct, the service you get can make or break a dining experience. Especially, when you are spending big money on a dining experience. Nice to hear that they invited you back and made it right. And thank you for mentioning to tip!

    I frequently am asked, and provide, reviews of places I've stayed & eaten at - as many people are. LV locations seem to respond to most. Good reviews seem to get a standard "glad you liked it, pls come again" reply. Twice I've had to include negative comments - and was contacted by management by both, each asking for more info & another chance. The level of concern over my experience & satisfaction amazed me. Nice to know customer reviews are actually read. Thanks for this vlog...very nicely done!

      totally agree with you there, it is nice that they follow up. This is not the only place we left a bad review from our reservation but it is the only time we returned.

      @@JoshRachael I would have given one of the places another try, but it had closed when I was back in LV a few months later. Ongoing reviews from the other place are not indicative of any improvement, so doubt I'll ever return.

    I had a bad experience and won’t go back to Craftsteak. I dined alone and felt like I was invisible! No one checked on me even though wait staff were very attentive to other diners - couples, and groups.
    I had a problem with one of my dishes and the waiter just took it away, no apology, no offer of something else and kept on the bill. I am a 75 year old woman and was treated rudely by both waiters. I complained to my host who gave my feedback to the restaurant manager. This was about five years ago. Can’t see myself returning as my experience was bothersome.

    At first I was shocked about the bad service and wasn’t hopeful that it was better the next time. Glad they made it right. We dine at Craftsteak several times a year and have never had anything less than excellent service. By chance in your last visit, was your server Blue? He is the best!

    LOL, I was confused because Josh was wearing a similar shirt in both videos 😂. Glad you went back and had a better experience. Craftsteak has been around for a long time. Maybe they got complacent and needed a refresher on providing exceptional service.

    I took two clients to Pieros last week in Vegas, they had been to Craft earlier that week, both said the steak at Pieros was much better and also the service at Pieros is second to none.

    I went there last year and same thing and also very unorganized and when I complained about the lobster being tough the waiter didn’t come back for at least 20 mins! They did make it right but wasn’t sure I would go back! Staying there in June might have to try it again! Thanks for sharing and Rachael I love your hair color looking good❤

    I’m not surprised you received excellent service and a fully comped dinner on this return visit. That is the entire purpose of service recovery. Repeat guests are valued, especially at higher end restaurants. You also used the best route to address your previous service issues, as opposed to blasting a place on Trip Advisor or Yelp.
    You covered this whole saga - previous joy, a bad service visit, and the return visit - honestly and fairly. Sometimes, you just have a bad experience. Most of the time I will give second chances, especially if it is a food issue or a service issue out of the server’s control. Probably I wouldn’t return if there was anger or rudeness from staff or management, which luckily has not been an issue for me thus far.

      Thanks so much Reginald. I took some time thinking of how to answer this. We have talked before about how critical to be of places and foods, but in the end we don't want to be rude. This video was one that was hard to do since it was quite different for us, putting a good and a bad experience together and the fact that it was one we did not pay for. We will figure it out more as it happens more in the future for sure. Thank you so much for sharing, hope you will comment more in the future - we really appreciate feedback and do think it makes us better!

    Good on management. I'm sure they "looked up" who you are or maybe in your review you mentioned your high roller status in some form. I've worked the financial side of the service industry and this as a rule does not happen unless you are "someone"

    Totally agree. A big part of these high end restaurants is the top notch service. My wife laughs at me when I tell her I enjoy the server describing the food to me.
    We are definitely one of those couples that would not return to a restaurant if service is poor, even if the food is incredible.

      This one was a tough one. Casa Playa asked us to come back after a similar email review but we did not return. I had enjoyed Craftsteak in the past and really felt that the manager was genuine with his approach so we gave it another go and we are so glad we did.

    They 100% knew about your YT channel. Casinos have a creepy way of keeping track of their guests and their social media accounts. I wrote a very negative review on Tripadvisor of Planet Hollywood while I was still there. I mentioned in my review that my remote control was broken. I called the front desk for something unrelated and they asked me if I also wanted my remote control fixed. This was only a few hours after my review was posted.

    At some times you have to say what you fill,that’s when things get done ,sometimes,and sometimes restaurants go overboard to make you,happy with the restaurant,the food looked great fresh and cooked very well the ingredients gave your meal that great flavor and color.don’t fill bad,sometimes you have to do something you don’t like.

      Just that one time, and it was my first meal of a birthday trip with family and friends so it just made it that much more disappointing. So glad it came back strong, since I always enjoyed it before.

    With steak houses in vegas, I’d not go back, there are so many I’ve not tried yet.
    If one of my favourite/regular places has a bad day I might skip for a while but will go back.

      This is what we saw, a place we had been to and enjoyed before with a bad experience. Had we never been we likely would have never returned, and simply put out the first video of the bad review.

    I think it’s great they invited you back but I would have done it as a surprise walk-in to let them prove organically that the service has improved. Hopefully your follow up is more indicative of the “normal” rather than your first visit.

      Sadly if it wasn't set up I probably would have just never gone again. No need for another organically walk in experience when there are so many other great spots we still want to try. We will see which turns out to be the real thing in some time. Will go back but definitely not notify them down the road

    I would go one more time. This is what restaurants do when they invite you back for a recovery meal. I’m in the business. They had notes on your resie and made sure you got a nice table probably in the best servers section. So it’s hard for me to judge on this experience. I think just going in with no notice to the restaurant would give a better idea. But also if you booked on open table, they can keep “notes” on there about you and previous visits. So keep that in mind too.

We will likely go back but it will be a while, so many great options in Vegas...Now I am wondering if we have ever done something bad enough to get bad "notes" hmmmm

      Less than stellar is an understatement for sure. We get it was the worst we had in Vegas for the first meal. Bad attitude and lack of concern, wrong orders and orders never take. Because they didn’t follow thru

    I hope you see this question, I have reservations in 2 weeks(Saturday), is a sports jacket or blazer required for men? Dress or dress slacks for women there?

      Vegas for the most part is wear what you want as long as you wear closed toed shoes as a guy nowadays. Very few spots require a sports jacket and this isn’t one we have seen. I tend to make sure to at least have a collared shirt above a polo but you will see people in them.
      For women it seems pretty open as well
      Basically think about the term business casual and you will be fine with that or anything above.

    Another great video. Had a similar experience there. I REALLY dislike complaining, so I didn't. The food was "good", but the service was atrocious. Haven't been back. Too many wonderful restaurants in town

    Poor service definitely can ruin a good meal. It can also be the thing you remember most about a vacation especially in Vegas . We had a bad experience at a Vegas restaurant several years ago and that’s what we still talk about. Side note the restaurant went out of business . Glad you went back and that the restaurant made amends ! Enjoyed the video #wulffdendad

    I may have missed if you mentioned it in the video but do you tip for bad service? I will but it will be 5% or less, once or twice I have left 0% but those were for the worst experiences regarding service. I have even left 0 tip and went and tipped the bartender separately in cash just to be surer they were taken care of.

      We did tip the first experience but definitely not 15%. I’m actually unsure how much we did at the time since it was in August. It has to be epically bad all around to give zero for me

    when it comes to service, I will always give a place a second chance if the food is great. but if the food id bad, I usually never go back. Craftsteak was never on my radar before but it is now!!

      This is a prime example of how we feel as well. We did not enjoy the food at Casa Playa so when they asked about returning we did not go, but the food was good so felt Craftsteak was worth trying again

    Can't beat free. I hate leaving a bad review unless the staff has really earned it. In the end they are better for it. A place like craft steak can't afford to be upsetting premium paying clientele. Great vid.

    I even screw up my own food! I go back unless it is a customer service failure, and the staff was rude.

    A $800 bill deserved A+ service. Glad they made up for it. Why did Craft not make it on your Steak house list?

      This meal was after we recorded the steakhouse video and we struggled since we kind of consider it an Asterisk meal. It actually was a top 5 meal for us in 2022 in Las Vegas but we still questioned a little bit if we got some preferential treatment and felt it would be unfair to put it on the lists.

      @@JoshRachael Good point. You almost need to go again and see what happens. Food looked great. We are staying at the Horseshoe in a few weeks and I need a great restaurant for a 50th bday within walking distance. What would you suggest for dinner?

      For a 50th you definitely should go special. I would go for one of the restaurants overlooking the Bellagio Fountains. Bellagio is right across the street or Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris

      @@alyssadiceflipper5201 We watch Bill & Lisa and Tom & Mindy (2 channels) and both have said good things about Eiffel Tower Restaurant, but we have not made it yet. We have only been to Mon Ami once for breakfast and unfortunately our food was cold. The setting was great but we have actually not returned since that time. I guess that could be a redo restaurant now looking back, since so many enjoy it.

      Ain't that the truth. When I was talking to the manager he discussed it's usually the first or the last table that has problems and we were one of the last tables that day. So glad it was better on the return

    I went to Picasso last year, since it was always a favorite. The service was ok but the food quality has slipped, And for the price I will not go back.

    We had a bad experience at Tom Colicchio's in the Mirage. The service was terrible. We won’t go back, as there is many other restaurants to enjoy in Vegas

    They get two blind chances if the food is worth it. For this invite I'm a bit skeptical that your service is being influenced by being a guest of management too ... even if you are observing on a day. But heck if your negative review help influence training then good on them.

      The bill in reference for this video was when we had a table of 5 with 2 couples and a single for $800 that we tried to split

    To be honest, Tom Collico doesn't have the attitude or passion for restaurants anymore
    Yes he's a famous "has been" chef. He opens food establishments, hires GMs and basically isn't involved. I'd never go to any of his restaurants personally. And I feel the same way about Paula Deen, she has all these restaurants and visits them maybe every 5yrs or so

      This is the first time we did retry a spot after a disappointing meal. Glad we did it but the service from management after the event was key to us going back for aure

    I'm taking this review with a grain of salt. I assume you let the manager know you were the people who had the bad service last time and were invited back, so of course the staff was told to give you great service. The way to see if the service had changed for the better was to go in like it was your first time there and see what happened. Also, a comped $500 meal can make a review biased toward the positive. Just my opinion.

      Thanks for the view. Don't disagree with you. The difference is that we simply would not have returned if the manager did not reach out to us and assist with the reservation, we would have just put out a bad review and moved on last summer. Trust me we do compliment the meal with an asterisk attached to it.
