i also had a project mk1, when i changed the cv joints the C clip that locks over the drive shaft came off. it was a huge mission find it and getting it on again.

@@fejeralpar2774 the sump is fine. It wasn't droped. Only dragged. Also it's a steel sump not aluminium so no worries there.
It was not the best way too get the engine out. But it works. For the next time, you better lift the engine out. And when you put out the gearbox first it is easier, so you can lift the engine with a second man and some old seatbelts.
When I will have to put it back i will use an engine crane, this was madness ! Ty for your feedback !
@@upcyclethepastutp9901 If you are able to move the car it can be done simpler. I used a chain block connected to the roof in the garage to life the engine out and it worked perfect. But the car had to be moved back a meter or so to get the engine on the floor :)
