Cam is extremely talented, but no where close to elite. He had one great outlier season like 5 years ago. Other than that he has a losing record. Not sure he is the starter and that's assuming he even passed his physical.

Cam in his MVP season threw it down field and his receivers separated and won catches. In 2018 the system elevated his play just like how Shannahan elevates all the QBs in his system. Also all the other years besides his MVP shows that he's a mid tier volatile QB that if everything goes right he can be great but all other years yikes

Cam is inconsistent in terms of accuracy and decision-making... people saying he's a perfect fit for a system that is predicated on those two things, is nonsense! He will have great games, and bad games, and when they get into the playoffs it will take a miracle to string together 3 games to get them to the Super Bowl. The only thing he will really do is take a non-playoff team and make them a wildcard team.

In 2018 the cardinals were trash and now they're nfc dark horses. In the mean time we haven't been able to even get a good o lineman, good d lineman, kicker, defenseive coordinator. Actually since 2015 we haven't made any progress in building around wilson. Think about how many teams would instantly win the superbowl if they had wilson as qb, Bears, niners, chargers, vikings, cowboys. We just have to get more talent on the team. We have to let go of our coaching staff and definitely Schneider

I think its both that and needing more reliable weapons around him. McD was probably prepared to utilize Cam as a battering ram but just not fall in love with it too much. It has been a great way to get scores with Goal line situations. But defenses will definitely wise up so Pats gotta rely on other schemes established by that threat to cash out.

In all honesty as pats fan, that’s a good question. We’ve never been able to run the ball well against the bills and relied on Brady’s arm to save the day against y’all or hoping your young QBs like Allen, Anderson that one year make mistakes. Then again like he said in the video cam’s athleticism is vastly superior to Brady’s so who knows. Harry and Sanu plus our new TEs will definitely have to step up and take the load off cam

Instead of sitting Cam Newton immediately after his shoulder got fucked up in the 2018 Pittsburgh game, they stubbornly decidedly keep him as their starter, holding on to these delusional aspirations of making noise in the playoffs with an injured Cam. They waited til the season was practically over to finally bench him, when Cam could’ve been got his shoulder surgery out the way, and prepared for next season.

Just finished the week 1 game with Pats vs Fins. Good way to beat the Fins matchup with the strength of the secondary against the pass was the take it to the ground and Cam was able to turn red zone opportunities for the Pats into scores. This is key as this was a HUGE reason why the Pats offense sputtered last season because they can't threaten the red zone despite Brady being able to sustain a drive coming down the field. Pats offense ran it 42 times on the ground for 217 yards. Hopefully Cam stays healthy but the Pats def have better pieces for him on offense now than he did back in 2018 with the Panthers.

Patriots have had a knack for taking players that are viewed as "failures" or "not good" with their original teams, and coaching them to maximize their potential by making use of their strengths and masking the weaknesses. BUT they can also take a great player and make them even greater. If Cam can stay healthy and adapt to the offense, the Pats could stay relevant for another 6-9 years. Cam is still only 31, and in the modern day in football with all the rule changes, is still pretty young
