@@austinbennett7049 how long he has been in the league doesn't matter. Do the Panthers want a chance of winning? Then they start Dalton. Young had been horrendous, you also expect more from a #1 pick. Especially with a year of experience. They replaced him, and now they're better. It's that simple.
Has anybody seen the last few Washington games? Bryce is a bust plain and simple. His style is to sling it from different positions and on the run. That doesn’t work in the NFL unless you have a superior arm. Bryce just doesn’t have an NFL arm. He was successful at Alabama because they had superior talent around him. It’s that simple. Us Texans fans kept receipts when the media said Bryce Young was not only better, but was also in a better situation and position to succeed. And they overhyped him so much.
As a browns fan this is by far worse then the Watson trade. The player that were drafted with the browns picks besides Dell are not very good. and before you say it Anderson was not drafted with a browns pick. The Texans used the browns pick to trade up to get him but if the browns had that pick they still would not have been in position to trade up like the texans did.
Obviously Bryce is in a terrible situation and they were wrong about that, I do believe that if Stroud went 1 and Bryce 2nd Stroud would be going through the same thing with Carolina and Bryce would be thriving, just goes to show how much a situation really matters
CJ Stroud was such an outlier of a performance that now the Colts, Titans, and Panthers are all getting pressure from the media and fans to signal if they drafted the wrong QB. - Sam Darnold was ruined - Kyler Murray’s career is tainted - Baker Mayfield was ruined - Mac Jones is was given a DC as an OC - Caleb Williams is next with 0 OL protection If you’re drafted to a poverty organization expect poverty results. The only QB who shouldn’t have been drafted in the first round the last 4 years is Trey Lance
Exactly these teams need to stop drafting a QB 1st and expect them to come and change lives Texans only doing well because they surround CJ with help and a coach that actually knows a thing or two
And remember mid way through last year, the media was calling J Love a bust. The flip flopping of Cowherd over 8 weeks is still so unbelievable to watch. But the Packers are a much better run organization compared to the Panthers.
Kyler Murray’s career is tainted but his stats so far this season is 428 yards passing. 4 touchdowns and a passer rating of 122.9 but his career is tainted. Go look at his previous stats his put up big numbers. Yea granted he hasn’t taken his team to a playoff spot. But he’s moving in the right direction this season to do so.

Front office wanted CJ Stroud, but Dave Tepper and his wife wanted Bryce Young. Dave Tepper hasn’t had a winning season since he bought that team in 2019 and cut Cam Newton in 2020. Dude has done nothing but overpaid coaches that he fires in a span of 2 seasons. Tepper is the worst owner in the entire NFL and the entire city of Charlotte NC literally hates this man
I'm always curious how this narrative sticks. The beat writers have said it's not true and both Scott Fitterer and Frank Reich had made bad QB decisions prior to this.
@@unc54 Nah dude. Dan Morgan has come out and confirmed what Reich said in that press conference… Ownership took control of that selection. Tepper wanted Young. Guy who writes the cheques has the final say… Dan Morgan still living off his playing days in Carolina coupled with the scouting days in Seattle where he apparently had a hand in building the Legion of Boom. As a Bills fan, he was meh. They claim he had a hand in drafting Josh Allen but it’s been reported he had Rosen ahead of Allen; thank goodness that worked out. The problem in Carolina is the front office and ownership first and foremost. It’s like a less talented Cowboys organization… the owner and his guys wrongfully have their fingers in the pie.
The NFL is ruining rookie quarterbacks. They're rookies... they don't know what they're doing! Quarterbacks used to sit for three or four years until they were ready. It's not fair to them.
The first time in my life I remember rookie QBs doing well were Flacco and Ryan. Seems like ever since NFL been holding rookies to that expectation, lol.
Wha are you talking about? The rookies have experience at qb. Rookies are not adapted to the different cultures and the teams of nfl like they were with in college.
I'm here after Andy Dalton just scored 36 the next game after yall said nobody could win with this team around them..remember this the next time yall pretend to know what you are talking about...
Any team that doesn't have the speed combination of Tyreek Hill and Waddle cannot do that. Even the Dolphins offense gets regularly exposed against good teams.
People aren't hard enough on Bryce. He's played 18 games and had maybe 2 above-average games. This season he's been pressured the least of any QB in the NFL and the Panthers acquired a starting WR in Diontae Johnson, drafted a WR in the first round in Xavier Legette, brought back Adam Thielen, and yet Bryce has not only not improved but has significantly regressed to unquestionably the worst QB in the league.
The problem is they don’t let most of these young men sit and develop anymore. Plus, he was put in a bad situation with that team because that organization is a mess. Everyone is rushing to find the next star when they don’t have the supporting cast around them most of the time. I feel sorry for him.
Bryce would have struggled anywhere, he doesn't have vision over an OL, doesn't have great arm strength, has average mobility, has poor pocket presence. What more is there to evaluate? Its a good move and they could have moved on from him last year and still been in the right.
Yeah… he’s in accurate, his pre play and during play reads are awful, not athletic, too short, not a powerful arm, terrible decision making. you can see all of this on tape. It’s silly to me that the notion on Young is that he’s just in a bad position. While that is definitely a contributing factor, it’s not the only reason he’s awful… tape don’t lie.
I agree with everything Louis Riddick said. They had the structure in place for a quarterback like CJ Stroud but were forced by the owner to draft Bryce
He's short, thin, soft arm, not fast, and was a supposed "elite processor" but he stares into double coverage and serves up easy INTs.... he misses BUBBLE SCREENS and can't even throw quick outs with proper velocity..... yeah this roster has a lot of holes, but Bryce literally takes a bad team and makes them unwatchable, leads the league in off target throws..... last szn when Dalton started in Seattle, it looked like a respectable offense Yes the Panthers SUCK (thanks Tepper) But Bryce is still somehow worse Dude is built like Eddy Piniero, he ain't meant for this life
As a smaller QB you have to have at least one elite trait to survive in this league If we look at the 3 common example for the short QB in Kyler/Wilson/Brees Kyler and Wilson have/had *elite* athleticism being able to break contain easily, combine that with Kyler strong arm and Russ having one of the greatest deep ball throw ever you see why they could do things Brees has unparalleled accuracy and touch and pocket presence as funnily enough was more athletic and bigger than Young Young is short/small/doesn’t have a big arm/ doesn’t have elite athleticism on the field/ doesn’t process quickly enough at this level/misses easy reads and open throws and can hold on to the ball for too long An unmitigated disaster at this moment in time and potentially the worst QB ever taken number 1
The bubble screen he expected the wr to run towards the ball to catch it in stride. The main thing I see is him and his receivers are just off. Either he doesn’t know how they like the ball or the timing is off. The other half is his decision making
I'm a Panthers fan and I'm embarrassed. The ownership was so *desperate* to get a QB, that they traded their top receiver and their own pick to the Bears for the 1st overall pick. It was so bad, they had the worst record, but the Bears got the pick. Desperation gets you nowhere in life or in sports.

Bryce is the worst even zach wilson has shown flashes jamarcus did too but he was lazy with bryce i jus think hes scared or he jus not built for the nfl
This is a perfect example of why you don't play guys before they are ready. Jordan Love couldn't even throw a spiral when he got to Green Bay and looked horrendous even in preseason. He was forced to sit two full years and learn, and then when he was named the starter her struggle a bit but it wasn't a disaster and eventually he turned a corner and is on a path to being a very good player. Had he been thrown out there on Day 1, he's probably working at Wendy's right now just like Bryce will be in a few months.
He actually sat 3 years because this year would have been his fifth. Remember everyone saying he was a bust at week 8 or so then he is a top 5 QB at the end. I loved Cowherd saying he wasn't even a quality back up then in Dec saying GB does it right. Draft when you don't need them. Let them learn. Be patient. Otherwise you are firing coaches and throwing players into new schemes every year (wasn't that Baker's problem at the beginning?)
@@kp5250 Even one year would be better than what most teams do. You can't throw a guy out there with Adam Thielan being the #1 WR and having a horrible defense and offensive line. Calling him a bust is BS you could put Mahomes on that team and they would still have a losing record.
He's 5'9", 170lbs, not accurate, can't run, doesn't have a strong arm. What were the Panthers thinking? As a Houstonian, we give thanks to the Panthers for Panthering their 1st pick that year. The owner is toxic. But Young has been terrible and if you think he'll magically become great going to another team, you're wrong
I'm so glad there is at least one person with a brain in this chat. I completely agree with you. It's insane they try to blame it all on Carolina as an organization!
There is nothing about watching him play that indicates he deserves to be in the NFL at all, never mind the #1 pick overall. I think fans forget that every team is breaking down tape hard; there's no hiding that Bryce looks terrible. Fans can chatter all they want, the professionals know what's up.
They drafted him. Thats why Reddick said they’ve been terrible as an org from the very start. No way you actually do your homework and draft him over Stroud or Richardson. Thats on them
So panthers evaluated him wrong as the number one pick completely wrong ....so what did all the so called media experts do at espn do? How was he the consensus no 1 pick if he literally has no special attribute as a qb...
Because people look at the simple stats more than anything and the stigma behind Ohio State QBs, basically. They also failed to recognize that Bryce's game would not translate over to the pros, considering he needed 5+ seconds to throw the ball and elite receivers to succeed.
You will be waiting until the end of time to see this guy string together a full season that's good. This guy can't even put 3 good quarters together. His record is 2.
@@lendesdail4304 Sam Darnold started out hot with like 900 yards and 3 to 1 TD to INT ration in Carolina as well. He had good streaks in NY too. If you're going to comment, at least know what you're talking about.
As many others stated, the NFL does not develop quarterbacks anymore. We expect the number one pick to go to the worst team in the league and save the franchise. The odds that that's going to happen are very little. In two or three years, I would not be surprised if Bryce Young goes to another team and leads them to a playoff appearance because that's how long it takes to properly develop a quarterback.
1st overall picks are expected to show SOME SIGNS of being a star player no matter how bad the team is. #1 overall has different expectations and standards you’re supposed to be special.
Panthers traded up from 9 and actually ended the season before on a hot streak. They weren't the worst team in the NFL. In fact they were the popular pick for a wild card if they got a decent QB in. BY was labeled as the most pro ready QB possibly ever. Unfortunately his physical skills have been exposed as not good enough at this level. I'm so glad Shannon Sharpe got up and told the truth. Bryce Young hasn't played well at all - but at the same time, they have not given him anywhere NEAR the tools he needs to strive. You can't go get successful QBs that had offensive talent and them expect them to turn bronze into gold.. I like Adam Theilan, but he ain't a Steffon Diggs.
Shannon Sharpe gave an outdated opinion. The Panthers invested heavily into the offense this offseason. They spent a lot of money on offensive guards, traded for Diontae Johnson, drafted Xavier Legette in the first round, drafted a TE in the 4th, and a RB in the 2nd (who is currently on PUP but nonetheless still an investment). And through the first two weeks the offensive line has allowed the least amount of pressure and on film receivers are getting open. It's not unfair to expect Bryce to look better than the worst QB in the league.
When you are 5’9” you have to do at least have a couple of physical skills that are above average to overcompensate for being short. He has a below average arm and he’s not mobile. Look at Kyler Murray. He has elite mobility and can rocket of an arm. If Bryce was drafted 15 years ago he would have went undrafted.
His arm is not below average. He makes the wrong decisions in trying to make a play and not take the check down. This is not to blame on his height at all
Stop saying he doesn't have protection, ask the oline or look at the tape. Andy Dalton came in last year and put up 360 yards with the same offense Bryce had. The fault of the organization is drafting him and paying him over 24 million guaranteed with his physical tools. I want to hear the same talk if Andy gets the offense moving and the weapons are putting up numbers...hmmm
Andy Dalton is no longer term answer but he is a legitimate NFL QB. Bryce simply is to small and has to weak of an arm. You can see it in games, he has interceptions because the ball sails on on. In college he played with the best talent on his team. Only 2-3 times a year did he play against a team that could challenge Bama’s talent.
I won’t lie….having the lead for only 10 seconds is actually pretty remarkable. Like did we kick a FG and then give up a kick return? That’s actually funny to me.
No one will ever outdo Jamarcus Russell. Imagine being drafted to a bad team and they trade away everything good on the team to draft you. Even Mahomes would suffer in Carolina
The Panthers o-line this season has allowed the least pressure in the first two weeks and the main passing weapons are Dionate Johnson, Xavier Legette, and Adam Thielen. You would be foolish to think Mahomes couldn't win 10 games with the Panthers.
@@AyeCoby You’re absolutely right and that’s my point. Situation matters. If Mahomes was drafted to the absolute worst team in the league, he might still be good but he landed in the perfect situation. I remember when all you sportscaster’s were picking Young over Stroud as for who you would pick with the 1st pick of that draft. He was small af back then too, idk how this is surprising lol
He has a top 5 OL right now and a HC/System that helped salvage Baker and Geno. Noone is asking him to win a SB but that is more than enough to not be the absolute worst QB in the NFL.
Imo you need your QB not to have unlimited riches in college and become spoiled and not actually having to learn the nuances of being a QB in terms of reading coverages, going through your progressions and getting the ball out at times Most times great QBs often come from schools where the team in college wasn’t stacked with WRs/RBs and OL and with Alabama for the last 15 years they’ve had all 3
It's very true that the Panthers organization is doing him no favors but what's the excuse for him missing wide open receivers during the chargers game this past weekend? What's the excuse for him getting the least amount of quarterback pressure this weekend and still running himself into sacks
Look at sam darnold now. Everyone said the same things about him. The panthers have the worst ownership in the nfl bar none dont blame a 22 year old kid for not bailing out a billion dollar corporation @jaliel0007
Okay, so genuine question: what is the narrative going to be if Andy Dalton throws for 250+ yds and is at least competitive against the Raiders this Sunday? I love Bryce as a human and want to see him succeed - I have 2 Young jerseys - but his play has been so bad these first two weeks that it has been impossible to evaluate our offense. He is missing open guys left and right, whether due to a poor throw, not throwing, or not seeing the WR. Even our OL is much improved per the PFF ratings.
They'll ignore it. They don't pay attention to the Panthers until news like this drops and then they just lean on outdated narratives. If they did they'd know that Andy Dalton in his single start last year gave a better performance than Bryce Young did in the other 16 games.
that's literally what happened in Seattle last year with Dalton (340 yds 2 TD, something like that) and almost every receiver magically had their best game of the season lol anyone who can't see it by now just doesn't understand what they see when they watch football, this is as simple as it gets.... Bryce ain't built for this, never was
He showed his processing ability in the 1st quarter on Sunday when the Panthers were in field goal range. On 3rd down, he ran backwards & sideways & then with ample time to throw the ball away, he decided to take a sack...taking the team out of FG range. Unfortunately, he's not a great processor either.
That's the thing. He was drafted for pretty much no reason (over Stroud) other than processing and ability to read through your options quickly and effectively. He rarely makes a play-saving decision, and actively hurts the team with instances like this. Maybe he just lost his mojo after a really rough year but you'd think you'd see at the very least some flashes of greatness.
It bothers me that they show these highlights where he clearly is the main problem and then just spend the whole segment blaming the Panthers. The Panthers obviously hold a lot of responsibility but at some point you need to realize Bryce is the one missing open throws, making bad reads, and taking bad sacks.

@@austinbennett7049 how long he has been in the league doesn't matter. Do the Panthers want a chance of winning? Then they start Dalton. Young had been horrendous, you also expect more from a #1 pick. Especially with a year of experience. Maybe he'll develop into a decent player, but they can't do what they did the first two games this season on a regular basis. Young was why they stunk on offense.
Bryce Young needs to be in an offense similar to the one Mcdaniels runs in Miami. Quick throws and one reads.
Any team that doesn't have the speed combination of Tyreek Hill and Waddle cannot do that.
Even the Dolphins offense gets regularly exposed against good teams.
People are hard on this guy. Man, he's in the worse situation possible outside of Lawrence's first year with Meyer.
Lawrence was still better with Meyer than Young has been
Jared Goff with Jeff Fisher?
People aren't hard enough on Bryce. He's played 18 games and had maybe 2 above-average games. This season he's been pressured the least of any QB in the NFL and the Panthers acquired a starting WR in Diontae Johnson, drafted a WR in the first round in Xavier Legette, brought back Adam Thielen, and yet Bryce has not only not improved but has significantly regressed to unquestionably the worst QB in the league.

Yes because stroud def joined a super bowl team
Keep that Same Energy
I agree with everything Louis Riddick said. They had the structure in place for a quarterback like CJ Stroud but were forced by the owner to draft Bryce
He's short, thin, soft arm, not fast, and was a supposed "elite processor" but he stares into double coverage and serves up easy INTs.... he misses BUBBLE SCREENS and can't even throw quick outs with proper velocity..... yeah this roster has a lot of holes, but Bryce literally takes a bad team and makes them unwatchable, leads the league in off target throws..... last szn when Dalton started in Seattle, it looked like a respectable offense
Yes the Panthers SUCK (thanks Tepper)
But Bryce is still somehow worse
Dude is built like Eddy Piniero, he ain't meant for this life
As a smaller QB you have to have at least one elite trait to survive in this league
If we look at the 3 common example for the short QB in Kyler/Wilson/Brees
Kyler and Wilson have/had *elite* athleticism being able to break contain easily, combine that with Kyler strong arm and Russ having one of the greatest deep ball throw ever you see why they could do things
Brees has unparalleled accuracy and touch and pocket presence as funnily enough was more athletic and bigger than Young
Young is short/small/doesn’t have a big arm/ doesn’t have elite athleticism on the field/ doesn’t process quickly enough at this level/misses easy reads and open throws and can hold on to the ball for too long
An unmitigated disaster at this moment in time and potentially the worst QB ever taken number 1
The bubble screen he expected the wr to run towards the ball to catch it in stride. The main thing I see is him and his receivers are just off. Either he doesn’t know how they like the ball or the timing is off. The other half is his decision making

Mac Jones got another chance as a backup and nonstop stories about how everyone hates the guy.
ESPN creates the most disparaging headlines for young athletes. Talk about the ownership of the team. Is this the worst owner of a NFL team?
He's already tied Dan Snyder in less than half the time. That is an accomplishment.
Yeah he is the worst but mostly because he was the one that wanted Bryce Young.
Terrible choice by the owner.
I remember EA trying to gaslight everyone by giving Bryce Young an 84 in ultimate teams and giving him out for free.

No one will ever outdo Jamarcus Russell. Imagine being drafted to a bad team and they trade away everything good on the team to draft you. Even Mahomes would suffer in Carolina
Mahomes would flourish anywhere! He would will the panthers to winning! WTF you talking about
The Panthers o-line this season has allowed the least pressure in the first two weeks and the main passing weapons are Dionate Johnson, Xavier Legette, and Adam Thielen. You would be foolish to think Mahomes couldn't win 10 games with the Panthers.

The same people that promote him up before the draft on ESPN; now they blame on the organization.

He has a top 5 OL right now and a HC/System that helped salvage Baker and Geno.
Noone is asking him to win a SB but that is more than enough to not be the absolute worst QB in the NFL.
@@WerdUp13 The Panthers o-line is ranked 20th. Where did you get 5th?
No disrespect to Bryce Young, but why do teams keep going to Alabama to pick a QB. Top quarterbacks don’t go to Alabama
Because Bryce is good. G
Imo you need your QB not to have unlimited riches in college and become spoiled and not actually having to learn the nuances of being a QB in terms of reading coverages, going through your progressions and getting the ball out at times
Most times great QBs often come from schools where the team in college wasn’t stacked with WRs/RBs and OL and with Alabama for the last 15 years they’ve had all 3
It's the Panthers fault, look what Sam & Baker are doing since leaving but I do agree with what you're saying
By that logic it made no sense to draft Stroud because Ohio State QBs had been busts until then.
Tua? Hurts?
To me no. He's another Tim couch and David Carr drafted into a bad situation
It's very true that the Panthers organization is doing him no favors but what's the excuse for him missing wide open receivers during the chargers game this past weekend? What's the excuse for him getting the least amount of quarterback pressure this weekend and still running himself into sacks
He's not good at all, and was overhyped because he played for Alabama. He was never better than Stroud.
Those are horrible comparisons. Tim Couch and David Carr both had rocket arms. Bryce Young can't throw a ball father than 30 yards with any zip.
Our OL allowed the least pressures this past week. Still awful
Look at sam darnold now. Everyone said the same things about him. The panthers have the worst ownership in the nfl bar none dont blame a 22 year old kid for not bailing out a billion dollar corporation @jaliel0007
There’s a lot of pressure being a no.1 pick. I feel bad for Bryce Young
Dalton will beat the Raiders, classic coach trying to save his job by putting in the vet
that's literally what happened in Seattle last year with Dalton (340 yds 2 TD, something like that) and almost every receiver magically had their best game of the season lol
anyone who can't see it by now just doesn't understand what they see when they watch football, this is as simple as it gets....
The highlights of the bad throws from Bryce Young were hard to watch tbh lmao. 😂
It bothers me that they show these highlights where he clearly is the main problem and then just spend the whole segment blaming the Panthers. The Panthers obviously hold a lot of responsibility but at some point you need to realize Bryce is the one missing open throws, making bad reads, and taking bad sacks.
@@unc54his confidence is so destroyed he was about to start crying also he’s had 3 coaches in 2 years with 3 different systems with no weapons and an O line that’s actively trying to get him killed
