I just had mine tuned today, it seems to be just like yours. Mine doesn't have the dod anymore, or the rev limiter. It made a big difference in my car too!
I would highly recommend you do. Get a Triple Edge performance trans kit or find a local credible transmission shop and explain to them exactly what you want.
Killer car! I wish that there was a way to swap a 6 speed or hell even an 8 speed trans into these, they would be a whole different animal with shorter legs haha
i have owned mine also black on black and moonroof for about 4.5 yrs. i dindt give a shit if its front wheel drive, bought it at a chevy dealer had about 50k miles on it 1 owner, still has original rims and bose system all i have put are flowmaster mufflers Now it has 101k miles on it, so far problems have been- - water pump - clicking driveshaft -2 front wheel bearing hub assemblys because abs sensors or some bullshit sensor forget the name are itegrated together -8 tires in 4.5yrs (stay on top of ur alighnment remember big car, heavy front from v8 , and fwd) All i have listed is easy to fix and not expensive like all these new cars as of now 2018. i have kept up with charger 5.7 hemis no problem, so far had it up 120mph easy no tune

For all who has the DiabloSport InTune tuner the Diablo tune is the best of the options. So don't choose the 91 or 93 octane tune. I've tested it at the track and the Diablo tune is by far the best. I will be doing another video of my parameters that I've adjusted. Like and subscribe for the new video

But mine actually sounds better than this one with just the factory exhaust a set of of the cheap mufflers & exhaust tips from the local Exhaust Pro. But mine really sounded great when the back of the factory mufflers rusted out. I loved the sound but the mufflers rusted all the way around the tail pipes & I had to have them changed. I wish now that I would have just took the tail pipes off & left the rusted mufflers on the car. When I pulled in to a gas station and it would be setting there idling every guy there would be looking around to see what it was. I have had several guys walk over and say is that this car sounding like that I was looking all over for a camaro or something & then noticed it was this car.

Terrell Howard just the alternator,water pump,door blend actuator are the most common problem I've had. I rebuilt the transmission before it started to have problems. Other then that if you keep the oil and plugs changed you want have a problem out of the engine. Also don't use cheap gas. The SS is not a bad car once you get the transmission rebuilt. You want really have any problems. Also don't go cheap on a transmission rebuild.

The most important thing would be to have a transgo shift kit with an aftermarket torque converter and pressure solenoid. But if your looking to rebuild the transmission go on TEP website @ tripleEdgeperformance.com and look at all the parts they use for the rebuild kit and let the shop know what you want. Also have an transmission cooler installed that's a must to keep the temperature down because the more heat you have the more friction and wear and tear on the transmission you will have.
It's a good starter. If you're looking for a extra 10 hp maybe then it will be cool. It will help with throttle response and you can also up the trans line pressure and shift points. James Harrison If your thinking of getting an Impala SS I would get a GXP because it has the same engine with wider tires and weighs less. Also the GXP is the fastest of the LS4 family. It goes GXP,Monte Carlo SS ,Impala SS,Buick
Ls4 SS yea I got a 05 gxp with 163xxx and now I’m getting ready to do the triple edge performance rebuild very soon, only got an exhaust haven’t done anything for power but GM dropped the ball 100% on the trans it can barely handle the stock power
zbib43 that GM did. Also with the FWD. The ls4 should of never been a FWD car but what do I know lol. Once you get the trans rebuilt and a downpipe,intake mainifold swap and spray or boost you'll have a bad azz sleeper. That's what I'm working on now
SADLY TRANSMISSION WILL GO OUT SOON IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT A LS4 V8 IN A IMPALA THAT WAS NEVER MENT TO HAVE SUCH A MOTOR WITH A 4T65 TRANS combo. This move was done in desperation to combat the 300c hemi and charger of that era that came out of nowhere Since i like my car and paid about 16k for it i will be replacing it with a beefier remanufactured one wich run around 1500 i believe
Cesar Aguilar yeah I had my transmission beefed up already but once you sort out the transmission issue it's really not a bad car the engine will hold up if you end up throwing power to it.
If you're just looking for a basic street tune and don't want to pay $500 plus to have the car tuned professionally then yea. It totally depends on and your intentions

Best exhaust a muffler delete

Actually in theory the Monte SS weights the least out of the LS4s so it would be the fastest.. The GXP is the most equipped and will weight more

My 2007 ss impala sounds like crap has crank sensor out and misfire and radiator leak need front rotors and struts
