    I once went to a no-employee ice cream store(in Korea) and found a credit card that someone had left behind. And I called the store manager, she could see me on camera and asked me to open the shelf door below where I stood and put that card there. When I opened it, there were about five more cards like that. 😅

      In Korea, we don't take the things that someone left behind.
      I think it's because we've learned the manners in moral class at school.

    There are 3 non employee CVS in my apartment complex too and it's so popular among children because they feel shy or awkward to pay for clerk. So they don't have to feel nervous in that store. I'm an old fashioned guy so im used to go normal cvs cuz it feels more managed. But it's really a big trend in korea. I've never heard of robbery in there even though its vulnerability. Thx for the video Tayler 쌤👍🏻

    It's not 100% safe to do that kind of business but that's a true that Korea is safe enough to do the business also, regarding western country's safety
    People leave their phones or laptops on public space beacuse it's extremly rare chance to lose it. that's the level of Korean safety

    Don't think that security is not an issue because of cameras. In Korea, kids under 14 don't get punished or punished very lightly. So if they wanted to, kids can just ransack these stores and not get any punishment.
    And it's not just the security but how cleanly kept they are. That has to be from people using them well and not just cleaning crew. Even drink refill station at AMC theaters in US has sticky floor because people spill coke all over.

    I think these shops became a trend after the rise in costs of manpower and the covid outbreak, and are only actually possible at all because of such a high trust society and all of the CCTV monitoring. I've even seen no-employee coffee shops etc.

      @RT-xv3js 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True and another reason that I heard from the owner who has one of those shops is because it works for a busy mom schedule. The owner is a full time mom who had to take a leave on her job but these stores you gotta stop by once a day to stock them up and print the report. So for full time moms, it works perfectly.

    South Koreans are the race of Confucianism, which means they've cherished their honest minds and good attitude in social life. So the no-employee stores could've managed in Korea's downtown as you know.
    So far only a few little kids and teenagers who don't know shameful actions have behaved like thieves there...but they were caught by surveillance cameras at the stores, and many Koreans blamed their impoliteness. Generally, most Koreans have gotten the minds that they should be citizens of legal all the time, so those no-employee stores would be increased more and more.

    I've been to some of those stores and loved it coz it's cheaper and convenient. It was very safe before, but it is unfortunate that recently, we have increasing report of theft at those stores largely by teenagers. Growing rate of underage crime is becoming a social problem here in Korea coz teenagers don't get as severe punishment, not just for minor offense but even when they commit heinous crimes and it's shown in the media over and over again.
