The first part all of those stuff for 10,000 won is actually really cheap and nice it looks so good to be at that korean convenience store
korean american here- I visit my family in Korea every now and then and I miss how cheap food was over there ;_;
If you get paid in USD then you will live like a king in Korea lol. Right now is pretty much the best time to travel if you are American because the US dollar is so strong against the KR won.
Also something I really appreciated over there is that because of the close proximity of everything, competition between stores/restaurants is very fierce over there so stuff like snacks are cheap in general.
In the US you would expect to pay a premium to buy individual snacks at a gas station or convenience store because of said convenience (as opposed to buying in bulk at a supermarket which would be cheaper).
They don't really have a 'convenience' fee haha

When you buy something e.g. in the convenience store, is the VAT included in the price on the price tag or is it added when you scan to pay for items? Where I live in Canada, VAT is called HST which is 13% (or $0.13 per dollar you spend). I'm shocked that Korean convenience stores sell things for 1000 won or less. There are so many Korean ice cream and popsicles to choose from, I'll have to try Korean ice cream in the future. Do Korean convenience stores sell any kimbap that has no seafood or eggs in it?
the prices in Korea are VAT included, there is no additional charge upon checkout. and yes, they have kimbap that has rice & vegetables only. 😊😊
